• Location was great, friendly staff makes the difference.
• Broken shards of wood on sauna floor, dirty elevators, wi-fi supposed to be free but they charge, room cleaning.

“Facilities were not so clean, I was shocked. Fan in bathroom didn't work. Rooms were dark with only lamps and not enough, beds were the beds give ever slept on. Entrances not clearly marked or efficient, sometimes locked, sometimes not, many people coming to and from the doors, to gain access or leave, a bit of a maze. While wi-fi is $12 per day for it. The floor boards in the sauna were broken. Dangerous mostly, but an eyesore, shows not much caring about customer safety, changing room in sauna and gym area was rather dingy. give seen motels that were cleaner.”

“Hotel was in a fabulous location. Could not have asked for better. Rooms were nice. Pool and work out facilities awesome and everything was comfortable. Workers friendly. Internet was a total rip off. I refused to pay so much for that. Lounge was way too expensive as well. Overall, a very good experience though.”

• The room and bathroom were excellent, very comfortable.
• We had noisy neighbors, but we did not complain to the front desk until the following morning, and they were sympathetic.

“The location is a little east of the main downtown core or Montreal but really quite convenient. Good parking. We did not eat there, but the accommodations were first rate. Not quaint but modern and very clean.”

• Dark bathrooms. No hot tub.

“Room looked great other than the one small light above the sink. If you were trying to see in the bath/shower, it was very dark. The decor/bedding very trendy. Slow elevators at times. Above small shopping complex, with coffee shops and cafeteria and small shops. Very convenient.”

• Stayed before under different ownership. It was recently renovated - very nice and modern.
• Parking is expensive.

“Great value for the money. We paid the same price when the hotel was under different ownership. It was our anniversary and we enjoyed staying there. Great location with a nice pool, although we wish it were open later than 11:00 PM.”

“Nicely decorated rooms. Professional/attentive staff. Nice swimming pool. Very comfortable new beds with duvet comforters. Good temperature control. Only drawback is that it is not too close to major shopping districts, but is a short cab ride away, and relatively close to other attractions like old Montreal. This would be a nice central location in the summer months when you can walk everywhere.”

Also, not even 2 star hotel or motel in Montreal charges for the Internet Usage. I am really disappointed for this and they asked me to pay $12.50 per day for internet usage, that is ridiculous to ask Alford's.”

“This is a very good hotel. It is very conveniently located at Montreal downtown close to old part of the city. We could walk to all the historic places and tourist attractions. We are totally satisfied with the services from the friendly staff.”

• Great location. Mall on lower level. Very pretty decor.
• Heater in room did not work well, there was hair on the bathroom floor, funny smell in hall, only one person working the front desk.

“I could not understand why this was only a 3 star, but I was thrilled. It was very nice, and the location was great. Though tough to walk to Old Town during the winter. The parking was very expensive, but there was a lot across the street for only $5 a night, and we were always able to find street parking.”

• Initially, it is difficult to find the lobby, it's on the 6th floor.

“This was the second time we won the Hyatt in Montreal. The hotel is in a good location right downtown. When we first arrived the room we got stunk of smoke so we were quickly moved to another room on the executive floor because they didn't have any other rooms available. The rooms themselves are decent nice, clean nothing to write home about. The one thing I really wished the hotel had was a hot tub. There is a pool and separate men and women steam rooms, but no hot tub. Overall, the stay was good nothing overly impressive and not bad.”

“The location cannot get any better. It's right on St. Catherine's. Parking is underneath and so is the mall so if you need a quick snack it's there for you. If you come to explore Montreal, this is the best home base with walking distance to practically everything. Location saves a great deal of time if you come for a short stay. I got the crappiest room, in the far end of the corridor with a pieces of a ceiling peeling off. Also the bathroom was crooked with a small bathtub and the faucet offset to the edge so water splashes on the floor. It seems that the room may have been a closet at some point in time, hence the creative plumbing. Very inconvenient check-in time. Also watch out for traffic. The hotel is in the heart of the city, so leave some time for rush-hour plus possible parades etc.”

• The location in Montreal was so close to everything, the decor was wonderful.
• Had unexpected parking fees at hotel of 60.00 dollars for two days. The employee I dealt with checking out was rude but the manager did resolve it.

“The hotel was in an excellent location to downtown. The views were wonderful. Check in staff was very nice and very helpful. The staff was very helpful when we asked them for some good nearby restaurants. The rooms modern decor was very pleasing. The hotel was very clean except the room air vent in the bathroom which had dust coming out of it. I was not informed by the hotel that parking would cost 30.00/day and was not told of this till leaving. They charged me for two days. The employee on check out wanted to charge me. He was very rude. I asked for a manager and he did resolve the situation. Overall the experience was very nice and would stay again. ”

“Considering the rating of this hotel, I had assumed it would be situated among other higher end hotels in downtown Montreal. Wrong. Sure, I was a bit cranky at having gotten lost, but the Hyatt's needlessly labyrinthian layout didn't help matters. Here's the deal, it's cavernous. It sits atop Montreal's shadiest mall which sits atop a grocery store which rests upon a couple levels of parking garage. Ludicrous doesn't do it justice, honestly. After you've spent a half hour trying to figure out how to get the hotel, you'll get to the lobby which is attractivey decorated. You'll also realize, much to your chagrin, that you'll have to wait in line no matter what your next step. Elevators are consistently backed up. Reception is always understaffed. In short, it's enormously disappointing. Rooms were recently renovated and look nice, but lack somewhat comfort wise. You're better off going just about anywhere else.”

“I have stayed at the Hyatt Regency at least 6 times over the past year. This is probably my worst experience. Front desk staff named Claude offered me the Regency Club for $50. He said I would save from internet access, breakfast each day. I asked if it's $50 for the whole stay? He clearly said yes. When I checked out, my bill was $176 including taxes. He said he did not say it was for the whole stay. I repeated my question several times when I checked in. I said I want to speak with the manager. The manager took off the extra two days I was charged. Hyatt's staff should know what they are talking about. Claude even wrote on paper how much my savings would be.”

• There was no toilet paper in the room and the housekeeper spoke no English.

“This hotel was in a perfect location, especially in cold or bad weather as it was connected to the underground city. For the most part, the staff was very helpful, especially the concierge, Rene. The housekeeping staff was to be desired though. When we arrived we had no toilet paper. I spoke to the housekeeper once and she spoke no English.”
