• Great gym. Convenient to food, shopping.
• In-room WiFi didn't work, but staff helped by providing adapter.

“I spent 3 nights at the Hyatt Regency Montreal, and found that I could walk to most destinations I wanted to visit. Food and shopping were nearby, and although my laptop's internal WiFi didn't work reliably in the room, the hotel-provided WiFi kit worked fine. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, and the gym was well equipped. I would definitely stay again.”

• Extremely clean, great location , overall great.
• Parking, was mislead on the costs. Be sure to check!

“No problem in checking in, beautiful room and the hotel itself was just amazing i.e.: pool, outdoor decks, bar etc. As noted the parking was an issue as they mislead me on price. Overall, I would definitely stay there again.”

• Location was great. The staff was very friendly. Room was clean.
• We had to pay for parking, which we were not expecting. But I know that every place in the city has to pay for parking.

“I went to Montreal with my brother, who is frequent traveler to the city and has stayed in other hotels there. He loved the hotel, and the staff was very helpful with questions that we had. And the price could not be beaten anywhere for such a grand hotel. ”

• Location to downtown Montreal and old Montreal.
• Insufficient lighting in bathroom, uncomfortable bed.

“PROS: Fabulous location in Complex Desjardins lots of choices for food, shopping and easy access to Metro. Within short walking distance to Old Montreal , St Catherine street stores, Chinatown. Friendly staff, large room with double beds Cons had to take two elevators to get to room. Bathroom was too dark, no lights over bath tub beds were too firm for our comfort. No fridge.”

• It's location near Vieux Montreal, downtown, and innumerable restaurants and coffee shops couldn't have been better.
• Everything was great.

“The location is perfect for walking around Montreal or catching the Metro. There's a mall on the first two floors of the building with a great shop, a bowlangerie, and plenty of other shopping. The room had a good of the city toward the north. The staff including concierge was extremely helpful with directions and travel hints. An impressive hotel.”

• Phenomenal location. Valet Parking quite reasonable. Clean upscale room. Courteous staff.
• Don't especially care for the circuitous path a pedestrian has to take to get in and out of the hotel.

“The Hyatt Regency is in the canter of Montreal's arts district, smack dab on St. Catherine St. but not far from downtown. The rooms are comfortable and extremely well-appointed. The staff is very professional and courteous.”

• Staff, lack of training and the dealing situations with guests request.

“Got a room 2 queen size bed, was fine for me, a while after I checked in called the front desk to get a Internet code, did not worked, I tried to call one of the telephones did not worked and the lamp as well, I asked the front desk, housekeeping lady from the room beside, she told me I will call maintenance, after a while ago, the Internet still not working, no body came to my room and fixed the telephone and lamp, finally a member of the front desk called me and offered me a different room, after waiting for a very long time no body came to gave me the new keys, called back to the front desk, a new lady asked me about why I was calling from that room because my name was not in the computer! I did not have any idea about what's going on? Was a little bit frustrated about all those things happened at the same time, after I don't know how I injured my self with a broken part piece of wood on the desk, hurt myself on my knee, at that time one of the bellman came to my room I was very upset and showed him what happened, he offered me ice because my knee was very red and had a big pain! 3 minutes later another bellman came with another set of keys, still I couldn't understand about what happened and how 2 bell capstans came to my room, I decided to move right away and get the new room all this process took so long plus the problem with my knee, since that time had a pain all day , the manager called me and apologized for the situation offered me a free breakfast and a drink at the bar.. when I don't drink! anyways after 9:00pm the pain still went to the swimming pool but did not helped me at all, I was supposed to be out with friend to celebrate my new job, I couldn't do anything just setting all night, next day Saturday the manager on duty called me and see how things were doing, I was looking to extended my stay for an extra night, the manager offered me a different price and security decided to get some information from me as an investigation for the incident.”

“Location is great, there is a mall, restaurants and a food court attached to the hotel. The metro is adjacent to the hotel. Rooms are stylish, comfortable and quiet. This property is very clean. The view from our room was very nice. Public areas are very stylish and pleasant. The staff is indifferent, cold & snobby, you are just a number to them. Parking is pricey.”

“Overall, a nice hotel. The only problem is that our check in was delayed for an hour despite the fact that we had checked in 2 hours earlier and they said it would be ready at 3pm. Our room wasn't ready until almost 4pm.”

• Lovely king sized bed, contemporary hotel room decor and quite location for a place just off of Ste. Catherine Street.
• The rooms were dimly lit and the exercise room did not have any fans.

“Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Had a great sleep, found the staff helpful and courteous. Be prepared for dim room lights.”

• Great location, clean room, renovated, good service.
• The elevator is too slow, tourists there were not friendly.

“This hotel is located at very center downtown. Underneath the hotel, there is a big shopping mall and food court. So, basically, without stepping out, you will have everything needed. 15 minutes walking to old Montreal, 5 minutes to Chinatown. Swimming pool is good, good staff and very kids friendly. Room service is great, too. The only cons is the elevator. It is so slow, even with all 4s working together. Because of long waiting time, people staying in the hotel sometimes lost patience and lack of politeness, some people is rude. Generally speaking, a great hotel, worth of staying in Montreal. Will definitely recommend it.”

• Modern furnishings in room, modern gym equipment.
• It busy with business travelers.

“I would recommend this hotel, Modern, clean, I would rate it at 4*.Excellent location in downtown Montreal, busy restaurants and shopping is a short walk away.. There is even a shopping Mall underneath hotel including a IGA grocery store so you could pickup food or beer there if you want for the room”

“Overall I found the rooms to be nicely furnished with the only drawback being the poor lighting. I enjoyed the location as it was right across from the venue. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. ”

• Elevators were slow and full a lot.

“The hotel is in a great central location. Staff are very friendly and offer assistance. The only "bad" things were the moldy grout in the bath tub areas and cheap lighting in the bathroom. Only one light that was one of those energy savers. Not what I expected. Other than that, all was great.”

• I liked the location of the Hyatt. Also, the decor was very nice and the beds were very comfortable.
• There should have more selection than a king bed/smoking or 2 doubles/nonsmoking.

“The Hyatt Montreal is a great place to stay with comfortable, well-decorated rooms. Its location is within walking distance to many attractions, including Old Montreal. The subway is located nearby to take you anywhere else you'd like to go.”

• Dual elevator system to get from the street to the lobby to the room.

“Hyatt Regency Montreal is a large block hotel located on St Catherine Street in between the Latin Quarter and downtown and north of Vieux Montreal. The hotel sits astride Complex Desjardin shopping area. Rooms are nice as is the Hyatt standard, the real benefit here is the location - close to culture and nightlife in every direction.”

“This hotel is well located in the Desjardin Center with many stores and services available, and it is across the street from the Place d'art e subway station. It is very modern and stylish. While the parking is somewhat expensive, the ramp itself is very safe and well maintained.”

• We couldn't stay an extra night because they were booked!

“Montreal was a great city and the hotel made our stay that much better. The hotel is clean, has good services available (got a massage), and could not be in a better location. There is plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby and Old Montreal is only a 10 minute walk away. The hotel staff was friendly and professional, and the concierge was very, very helpful!!”

• It was very close to both Old Montreal and Downtown.
• No hot tub.

“The hotel is conveniently located near both old Montreal and downtown. We were able to walk to most places and there is an underground attached to the hotel. The room was very nice and had a small fridge which was very handy. It was a very pleasant stay.”

• There was not enough lighting in the bathroom. Only one light above the sink so when you took a shower, it was very dark.

• I like the location and the modern furniture in the rooms.
• Internet was not working properly at first. It took almost 3 hours to get connected.

“Overall I really like this hotel. The rooms are clean and the hotel staff is friendly. My only complaint is that the valet parking is a little expensive at $25 a night. Also the Internet was not working right away. I had to call customer service and they didn't get back to me for close to 3 hours later.”

• The service at this hotel was superb; the facilities are exceptional; the location is great.
• The tub would not drain; maintenance was sent to fix it, but they didn't succeed.

“The Hyatt Regency Hotel in Montreal exceeded all our expectations. On the edge of downtown across from the museum of modern art, a five minute walk to Chinatown, and a 15 minute walk to Old Montreal, the location of this hotel could hardly be better. Rooms are large, clean, and well-furnished. Hotel staff are extraordinarily attentive and helpful. Fitness center and pool are superbly functional and well maintained. Sun deck is a real treat.”

• We requested non-smoking ahead of time, and were put in a smoking room. They moved us the next second night.

“Great location. Nice hotel. Pool. Our only complaint is that we called the Hyatt ahead of time to reserve a non-smoking room. We arrived and the only rooms left were smoking. They gave us breakfast vouchers and moved us the 2 night.”

• This hotel is very well located, clean and close to Old Montreal.
• The daily parking was a little expensive.

“This is my second time visiting this hotel and my experience both times was great! The rooms were clean, the staff were very helpful and friendly. I also like the fact that this hotel is very close to the Old Port of Montreal and there is a very nice shopping Mall underneath the hotel where you could get a bite to eat or perhaps even do some shopping.”

• On arrival the parking situation was unclear, very poor lighting in bathroom.

“Once we found the hotel it was not very clear where to park, but once we parked we didn't need to take the car out of the garage during our stay. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to due to the hotel's central location. The room was very clean, the bed extremely comfortable with nice linens and plenty of pillows. The bathroom was clean (from what I could see) and I really liked the bath products - nice clean citrus scent. The only drawback was the poor lighting in the bathroom - it's a good thing I don't wear contact lenses anymore.”

• The location, underground mall and proximity to public transit and local attractions.
• The room and bathroom were too dark. The restaurant was not open for dinner. The parking was extremely expensive, and you had to rely on a valet.

“This is a beautiful hotel in the heart of Montreal. It's location is absolutely perfect if you want to venture out on foot, by subway or car. The concierge staff is more than willing to offer suggestions, make reservations, and provide you with any information you may require. However, there were a few draw backs. Neither my husband nor I are spring chickens. We found the hotel room and bathroom to be extremely dark. We were not sure if this was the decor or the energy saving light bulbs in the room. The only way to have dinner at this hotel was to either have room service or to order in. The dining room is not open for dinner. We would often call down to the valet ahead of time to have our car brought up. It was never there when we got there. I found the valet parking to be expensive, especially when having to tip every time you took your car out. My other concern was the language barrier. The message when one goes to retrieve their messages from the phone is only available in French, unless you call the front desk. There is no option to press a button for English. Most of the signs in the hotel were not bilingual. I found this to be very frustrating on many points. However, the hotel service directory did have a section in English as well as a section in French.”

• Room cleanup not efficiently performed.

“I would stay here again. I got there at 3:00 PM and picked up keys. I opened the door and there were still people inhabiting the supposedly empty room. The second room worked out fine but only after I had to go downstairs and tell them. They didn't get around to doing daily room cleanup efficiently as it would take hours before they got around to my room.”

• Room did not have a fridge which would have been a nice amenity.

“This was a great stay overall. From the beginning to the end, everyone was helpful and the level of service was outstanding. The staff was quick to meet our needs always with a pleasant attitude. The location could not have been better- across from the contemn. museum of art, great shopping and plenty of entertainment. It was a memorable stay!”

• The cleanliness was outstanding! Very nice all around.
• I exchanged some US dollars, not sure of the rate and I could have done much better on the street.

“Great location, near all major attractions, especially the comedy festival. Looks like rooms have been recently redone, everything looked new. Also, one of the most comfortable beds ever, and quiet........GREAT OVERALL!”

• Very dark room especially in the bathroom, hard to see what your doing with old tube television.

“If they update their television and their lighting situation it could be a very nice hotel. With it being so dark in the bathroom its easy to get hurt in there as I did. That ruined my experience there.”

“15 minute walk to both Old Montreal and Downtown. Very friendly staff/concierge. Air conditioning in the room was not working on the first night, but we reported it to the front desk and it was fixed by the following afternoon. Convenience to underground mall - food court & shopping”

• The swimming pool is excellent. The service is impeccable.
• The cost of parking is high.

“The hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance of St. Catherine, ST. Denis, and the Old City. I have stayed there on two occasions: last summer with my family and another family and this summer with friends. In both cases, the experience was highly enjoyable.”
