• In general the staff was cooperative and the bed comfortable.
• The bathroom was small, only functional, not pleasing. The carpet, furniture and lighting were worn.

• Attractive, comfortable room.
• Surcharge, surcharge, surcharge! Internet, toll free calls, etc.

“Attractive, comfortable room, centrally located downtown (expect homeless, etc. In immediate area). Local info not readily available in terms of maps or brochures but concierge generally visible. Large grocery store on same block. Room service menu limited and overpriced. Charges abound $12.95 per day for internet, $1.50 surcharge for toll free calls. Overall, a very nice hotel and would definitely return.”

• Location, proximity to metro and adjacent to an underground mall.
• Elevator needs to be taken to the lobby.

• Location is good; cleanliness is impeccable.
• I resent paying for parking at a hotel -even in a city center.

“A hotel that's sparkling and with stylish enough touches to look like a luxury hotel in many facets. Rooms are spacious, clean, and sumptuous. Could use fans in bathrooms, though. Pool and health club area (sauna and steam bath) are real pluses. Front staff is helpful and courteous, but a bit formal - they don't create a relaxed atmosphere. Location of lobby takes a bit of doing.”

• Swimming pool looks fancy from the outside.
• Terrible staff attitude; small rooms; concierge sells bus tour tickets that aren't coordinated with Gray Line.

“This hotel looked fancy and real cool when we booked. When we arrived they gave us 2 disconnected smoking rooms. Heating/cooling system in the room went nuts in the middle of the night- the room is small compared to other hotels, no pullout sofa- The concierge "books" tickets on the city gray line bus tour, but when you get there, you'll actually get on the bus only if there's seats left!- Just generally unfriendly attitude.”

• Efficient, attractive, well located.
• Very dim lighting especially in bathroom; lobby placement inconvenient.

“This was our second stay at this hotel. It met all expectations and we would be pleased to return. Our only criticism is with the extremely low lighting in the bathrooms which makes it difficult to apply makeup (or read) also, a wall mounted movable mirror is always a nice feature which this hotel lacks.”

• Hotel is very clean and located above the underground mall.
• Hotel parking is a little expensive and the internet wasn't working at first.

“I stayed here before and I really like this hotel. There are a few things that can make this hotel more desirable. However it's still a great place to stay especially for the price that I paid. Overall I enjoyed my stay and I would stay here again.”

• Room did not come with a Sony CD alarm clock, it did in the past.

• The hotel allowed my wife and myself to check in before their regular check in time.
• Although my wife and I were able to check in earlier than the normal check in time. I was disappointed in the room that we were given.

“The Hyatt regency is a really nice hotel elegant and spotless. The location is excellent with its multi lower level (below ground) wonderland of food, clothing, everything. The Hyatt regency is a very exciting place I enjoyed my stay enormously.”

• We slept on coach the first night; they did not reserve the room for us.

“The hotel did not reserve the room; we slept the first night on sofa bed. Even though, they compensate by offering free breakfast, but it is still a nightmare. They should have honored their committee men.”

• The extreme comfort of the bedding; truly hard to beat!
• The fact that there was an issue at 2:00 a.m. that they could not fix quickly, although they should have.

“At the front desk all went very well. She took a print on my credit card and that was all. The staff was very polite, the bed acquisitively comfortable. Unfortunately something came up around 2 o'clock in the morning. The fire speaker went off but the sound was very faint. Enough to wake you up and make you wonder whence the noise was coming from. I eventually called up the reception; they told me they were aware of the problem and offered some ear plugs. I refused and requested some tape to seal the speaker off. Which they refused. However, they agreed for me to watch any movie I would like free of charge, and offered me a free night for my next trip in any Hyatt Regency hotel. The noise stopped at around 4:00 a.m. Needless to say, beside the fact that the room was indeed very comfortable and the bedding wonderful, my night was far from perfect. However, they were very correct with me. Yes, something else. I thought I would be able to sleep late in the morning since checkout is at 12 o'clock, but at 9:30 somebody from Security knocked at the door until he got me out of bed because he was told to open the bedroom safety box. A mistake which spoiled my morning fun. Checkout was smooth. As promised no additional charges were made to my card and I now have another free night at a Hyatt. All in all a dreadful night. Due to bad luck only. The hotel is great (the swimming pool is a bit small and there are no Jacuzzis none that I could see anyway), the staff very nice. I am more than willing to give it another try.”

“When we arrived at the hotel the staff told use that they didn't have 2 rooms with king-size bed ready and told us to leave our luggage and come back at 3:30pm or accept rooms with double-beds. When we arrived at 5:30pm one of the 2 rooms was not yet ready!”

• This hotel was in a great location, just a short walk to the famous Montréal nightlife.
• The bed wasn't as comfortable as other hotels that I have stayed in.

“Overall, this was a great place to stay. The rooms were big and well decorated, although it wasn't anything spectacular. The staff was curious and friendly, and the location was absolutely amazing. Just a short walk to shopping, restaurants, and great nightlife. I would recommend this hotel to anyone thats looking to get away for the weekend to Montréal. I also wouldn't recommend eating at the hotel, like most hotels its overpriced, and there are a bunch of great restaurants in Montréal.”

• The hotel was in a very convenient location.
• It can be a long walk to your room from the elevator.

“The Hyatt Regency is conveniently located in downtown Montreal, and rooms were clean and well kept. Valet parking is expensive, but it is possible to park overnight on weekends across the street.”

• Very well located in downtown Montréal, across the street from the place des arts, a few blocks from old Montréal.
• Have to take two elevators, one to get into the hotel, then into your room.

“It sits on top of a shopping center, which adds the convenience of having both a supermarket and many affordable food options. I stayed in a high floor, with a fantastic view. The pool and sauna are just a great extra to relax after the unavoidable many hours of walking around. Room is nicely decorated.”

• Very friendly front desk staff - all questions were answered and extra help offered.
• Washrooms were not dirty, but not really clean either.

“The Hyatt is an extremely good hotel - friendly staff, excellent facilities. It is very conveniently located and we could go everywhere by foot once we get there - shopping, Mcgill u, subway, old Montréal.”

• The location was ideal for my needs.
• Staff - in particular the front desk, no willingness to be helpful.

“Unlikely to stay there again was not a nice looking hotel and while the room was spacious and clean, that didn't compensate for the appearance of the hotel and the lack of basic minimum levels of expected customer service.”

• Location, renovated.
• 2 elevators no designated smoking area other than road level.

“Nicely renovated in most areas. The management might want to go a step further and regroup the bath room tiles, spending all that money and have tiles which have big spaces in between and generally look dirty does not make sense. Stayed in room 235. Might also want to look into keeping the outdoor area by the bar open 24/7 to accommodate smokers who happen to be staying in non smoking rooms, so they do not have to go down to street level.”

• Comfortable beds, spacious room for downtown Montreal.
• Dangerous part of town - our car was broken into (across the street from the hotel).

“The hotel is comfortable and clean, but the location is less than desirable. We parked across the street from the hotel since our room was not ready and grabbed a bite to eat. We came back an hour later to learn that someone broke into our vehicle and stole our camera. We spent the next four hours cleaning up broken glass, taping the window, and filing a police report - vacation ruined.”

“The lobby is ultra-modern and well decorated. The room we had did not have as many modern decor touched as Id expected, but it was still nice. The staff is bilingual and friendly.”

• They could not provide a room with bed even I confirmed the reservation with them 2 days ahead.

“I confirmed with Hyatt customer service 2 days before checking in for 2 non-smoking rooms with 2 queen/double size bed. I was provided 2 rooms (the guest room of a suite) without beds, only a queen/double size bed in each room. The hotel staff was polite but there was nothing they could do to offer me even 1 room with bed. I was offered free breakfasts and drinks though. The problem was I was traveling with 2 seniors (my in-laws) so it really looked bad on me.”

• The location was ideal and the price couldn't be beat.
• The entrances/exits were extremely confusing - with some entering conference areas w/o access to the lobby

“Thy Hyatt provided maximum access to key inner city experiences, with access to the Montreal underground city, the subway, the arts, and some key neighborhoods. The rooms were spacious, well decorated, and well maintained. The staffs were helpful and courteous and extremely welcoming.”

• Very comfortable bed, good location.
• Does not meet the expectation in service for a Hyatt brand hotel, not very service oriented.

“Comfortable room, very nice bed, excellent location. However, no attention was paid to little things. Iron was missing, had to call twice to get one. I have no problem using the same set of towels for three days, but the hotel should provide more hangers for towels. Faxes and business mail were not delivered until I asked (in more than one occasion).”

• 1. We got rooms with sofa bed. 2. The bed was not made when we entered the room. 3. Waited a long time when check-in.

“The check-in service was too slow. When we checked in, we were told the hotel was over-booked. They said they only guarantee a room but not the type of the room so we got two rooms with sofa bed. They also gave us free breakfast. The bed in one room was not made when we entered the room. Overall I am very disappointed to the hotel.”

“I would recommend this hotel. It was very nice and the downtown location was walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Be prepared to pay $19.00 or $25.00 (valet) per day for parking. The hotel exceeded our expectations for the price.”

• the rooms are very noisy due to loud speakers from party in 1st floor, it happened both nights at different sides of hotel rooms- many complaints

“The staffs were very helpful to accommodate customer's complaints in regards to loud speaker noise at night due to party both nights that we stayed. They moved our room to the 12th floor; unfortunately the noise was even louder. Couldnt sleep until the party is over after 1 am.”

“The Hyatt is in a good location to access Montreal by foot, Metro and car. The Hyatt is an attractive hotel and the staff are quite friendly. The parking is somewhat expensive, although there is a slightly less expensive option across the street on the weekend and there are a few hours of free street parking on the weekend.”

• The beds are very comfortable, the staffs are friendly, the location is convenient
• The beds are pretty small for 2 persons

“The location of the hotel is excellent. All the attractions are nearby. Subway is nearby. Restaurants, fast-food restaurants, supermarket (age) shopping, are within walking distance.”

“Internet costs an additional $13 per day which is reasonable. A hint for the stingy travelers. There is free Wi-Fi at the Second Cup directly beside the hotel.”

• Parking was actually reasonable - $16 for two days.
• Nothing stood out.

“This is the second time I stayed at this hotel, and I was very pleased with the overall quality, location and value. It is hard to believe this is not a 4-star hotel.”

• The staff was excellent. All encounters were with friendly, helpful and courteous employees to the hotel.
• The room, including the bathroom, was a little small.

“I was extremely happy with my stay. The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of the bell center and great shopping. The beds were extremely comfortable. The fitness room was nice but very hot. The pool area was great with a beautiful outdoor patio for sunbathing. The entire hotel was very clean and the staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Everyone went out of their way to help us including an early check-in which was much appreciated. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

• No hot tub or Jacuzzi. Fee based Internet access - should be free for guests.

• The bed was amazing! It was so comfortable. You feel like you are home.
• Nothing, everything was perfect!

“The location was terrific. The hotel was right downtown so everything was accessible by foot if you wanted. It is close to the metro as well. The room and the view from the room was amazing. The hotel experience went beyond my expectation. I would stay there again without a doubt.”
