• Within an elegant mall very close to centre of town and public transport.
• Very confusing floor plan and elevator location. Directions from indoor Parking to hotel lobby very inadequate.

“Very good hotel with pleasant interior room decor. Efficient service. Direct indoor access to elegant shopping mall. Very convenient for night at the Opera/Concerts/Jazz Festival, etc. Direct access to Metro/Buses.”

• It was very clean.
• It did not meet our expectations based on a 4 star.

“Though we thought the staff was very helpful and the hotel was exceptionally clean, it did not meet our expectations of a 4 star hotel. The rooms were very dated, especially the washroom and television. The ice machines were out of order on the 3 floors that we checked. Also, a window in our room could be opened wide with no screen in it. Extremely dangerous.”

• Great location.
• A little dated.

“ Good hotel right in the heart of downtown Montreal. The rooms are clean, although in need of some updating. Parking was a little inconvenient, as the parking garage was difficult to negotiate, it is probably worth the couple of extra dollars to go for the valet. ”

• Great location.
• Rooms were old, AC and heat did not work reliably.

“Once upon a time this was a great hotel in a great location. Now this hotel, like many Omnis, is in desperate need of a makeover of its rooms. While the rooms are large, the bedroom furniture is old, the room styling is circa Korean War era, and the bedding is worn - cushy". The hotel is in a great location and expect to pay dearly for services like room service, dining, and parking.”

• perfect location. gym facilities more than adequate for a cardio or weight workout. Helpful friendly staff.
• Hotel and gym facilities "tired". Needs updating.

“Overall terrific stay. Hotel is somewhat "tired", needing an update, but room is clean and service friendly. Chose a suite which was quite large with a separate large sitting area and second full bath. We chose this hotel for it's gym facilities, which while also somewhat "tired"certainly has enough cardio and weight machines to provide a more than adequate work-out. 3 Precor ellipiticals, 4 Precor treadmills, 1 Life Fitness stepper, smith machine, cross-cable, dumbells. free weights, a number of secularized machines and a 17 meter outdoor heated swimming pool.”

• Thin walls.
  very thin walls.

“Clean and fairly roomy. Polite staff. Walls were quite thin - I could very clearly hear a business phone conversation the man in the next room was having - word for word - and I was sitting on the opposite side of my room. Phone did not work and staff did not attempt to fix it even though we reported it early during our stay. Nonetheless, a great value at the priceline rate.”

• Central location.
• Not a 4 star hotel.

“The hotel is a bit dated and could use an upgrade in furniture. Staff was not responsive as
I had called for a roll-away bed. Had to request 4 times before
I finally got serviced. Only plus is that it is centrally located to Mcgill University and the main shopping areas and restaurants.”

• This hotel exceeded our expectations. The lobby is welcoming and spotlessly clean. Our room was exactly what we wanted, king-sized bed, no smoking
• The pool is outdoors. The buffet breakfast is a little pricey.

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Omni Mount Royal. The employees were always very helpful and friendly. The price for the room was excellent. We ordered room service several times and it was always very good. The hotel was close to the metro and within walking distance of several very good restaurants, stores and the tourist center.”

• Superb all around: Location, pool, staff, room, lobby.
• Slow/few elevators.

“After a fantastic stay at the Le Center Sheraton last fall, I was hoping we'd score a room there through Priceline this month. Instead, we got the Omni - and it, too, was absolutely outstanding. The Omni is both elegant and warm/welcoming. Rooms are spacious and decorated with substantially more care than the average Marriott or Hyatt, the housekeeping staff was incredibly efficient and quiet, the front desk staff was helpful and warm. The gym has terrific equipment, the pool/hot tub and sun deck are excellent.”

• Location, price, pool/fitness area were excellent, quiet and roomy.

• Great view of Mont Royal.
• Decor is starting to look a little tired.

“Excellent business hotel located next to McGill University and Mont Royal. Room was spacious and comfortable with good views over city. Staff was friendly and very helpful to give directions and solve problems. The decor is getting close to the point where it could use some updating. Overall good for a business trip.”

“The hotel has a nice old feel to it. But it is clean, has many of the modern amenities, and the staff is very courteous and helpful. The pool, gym, and steam room are a big plus. The price was reasonable. Excellent location for the things I like to do there in the city.”

“Room was on 25th floor, behind the ice machine and next to the elevator (noisy). Worn carpet, dirty vents, unable to adjust room temperature, no bathroom vent fan, slow bathtub drain, only 2 very thin pillows, no curtain for shutter that covers the window that can open.”

• We ordered 2 glasses of wine from the hotel restaurant and were floored! The wine was not very good and totally overpriced!

“This is a warm and friendly hotel in the heart of Montreal. We had easy accessibility to McGill (we were visiting the college), to the Shopping District (Catherine St.) and a 10-15 minute walk to old Montreal. Being New Yorkers, we relished walking to the different parts of Montreal. The staff was particularly helpful with directions to wherever you wanted to go.”

• Good and professional service, clean rooms, good location.
• Did not like the rooms on the lower back of the hotel due to noise from the swimming pool.

“Very good location, professional staff, nice little bar/restaurant. If you check in make to sure to ask for a room far from the swimming pool area, however worry about it only during summer months. Take a Metro or walk anywhere in Montreal. Enjoy!”

“The Omni Mont-Royal is a nice hotel, but I wouldn't give it 4 stars. Clearly it used to be a Four Seasons (the faucets in the bathroom still say Four Seasons and carry a picture of the logo) but it has come down in the world since then. Public spaces are nice, but the rooms felt in serious need of a facelift. Parking was expensive, and a block away. Overall, considering the number and quality of other Montreal hotels, I wouldn't recommend this one.”

• The hotel is in a great location. The room was a nice size, large bathroom.
• The pool area could have been nicer. Parking was expensive, but then again, it's a large city.

“The Omni is in a great location. It is definitely a 4-star hotel. Our room was nicely decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was very large and clean. We had car trouble and the valet service staff was very helpful and accommodating. I would recommend this hotel.”

• The price of the water and goodies in the room was a little extreme.

“My husband and I were very happy with our time spent at the Omni. The hotel staff was overly accommodating and helpful in every way. Our room was spacious and very clean. The hotel is conveniently located for a tourist. I would go back in a Heartbeat.”

• Room was not ready at check in. Had to wait hours!

“I would stay at Omni again. Food tray from someone's room service left outside our room until we checked out next day. Room was not ready for over 2and1/2 hours. Thought it was a regular room with a sofa, it was sofa bed and it was not clean! Finally got another room and it was a twin Murphy bed! Then they tried to charge me for a cot for my husband! Closet door had large piece of veneer off and hairdryer would on blow out very low air flow. I do not go away to sit in the hotel lobby for hours on end to get a sub par room. Hotel gave free breakfast for our trouble. We left Montreal as soon as we got up and checked out. We would have never stopped in Montreal and just would have driven home to NJ had we known all of the aggravation we were to encounter at Omni. If Omni cannot accommodate there guests with a clean and decent room at the correct check in time, then they should not overbook the hotel, or hire enough staff. It should not be my problem that they do not have enough staff to clean the hotel.”

• Although the decor was a bit dated, it was well-maintained and kept very clean. Location was excellent and pool was appreciated.

“The Omni Montreal is a convenient hotel for both business travelers and tourists looking for a central location. Old Montreal and St Laurent street with their lounges and restaurants are only short cab rides away while the stores of St. Catherine are a 5 minute walk. The hotel has a great lap pool and the rooms are large and kept very clean. I would recommend this hotel.”
