• We were able to upgrade to a Jacuzzi room for 30- more.
• They charge you $9- a day for parking. You do not find out till check in.

“Room was fine and staff was friendly and accommodating. Exercise room was quite small with only 3 pieces of equipment. The pool was also small and not deep. We did not eat at our hotel so do not know if food or room service was good. A 2 and 1/2 star for sure, just a bit over priced for such.”

• It smelled bad and we can not open the window to ventilate.

• Parking was close, spacious.
• No high speed internet. $9 for outside parking is outrageous.

“We have come to prefer Clarion properties for moderate priced, clean and comfortable lodging while traveling, but the Clarion President Niagara was a huge disappointment. When asked about Wi-Fi, the clerk told me that if I sat next to the street window in the lobby I could probably pick up the signal from the Doubletree across the street. Clarion rooms were dial-up, which I don't even remember how to use. There were no luggage stands in the room so we had to unpack/pack each day on the bed surface. This is a smoke-free facility, but the floor of the balcony was covered with cigarette butts. Finally, we were charged $9/night to park outside behind the hotel where the mist from the falls (presumably) covered our car with a sticky substance every night. This was a thoroughly unpleasant experience which we won't be repeating.”

• The location.
• Our room was not ready when we arrived at 6:00 PM.

“We had to be put in a different room that smelled like smoke because our room wasn't ready after traveling all day. The staff was so overwhelmed and busy, that guests had to wait a long period of time before they could even speak to them. I was not impressed.”

• Rooms smelled, furniture was dirty, myself and daughter got bug bites probably from bed bugs, staff was not helpful.

“The room was 1 star quality. I was expecting a much nicer room. I came away from this hotel feeling that I was overcharged for the type of room that I got. Also, I was disappointed that they charge additional fees (i.e. an extra $ 9.00 per night for parking).”

• Close to the falls, restaurants, and parks. Very affordable.
• Hallways had an interesting odor.

• Upon arriving the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. There were plenty of information pamphlets available in the lobby.
• Furniture in room needed to be replaced. Chairs were stained and old. Air conditioner was loud. Bathroom smelled like mildew.

“This hotel had a swimming pool adjacent to the lobby check in desk and it was very visable from the street. That did not appeal to me. The room was hot and smelled like mildew when we arrived. After we ran the air conditioner it cleared up somewhat. The room was clean when we arrived but appeared to be unoccupied for some time. I would not stay at this hotel again. I did like the fact that your car was secure in the parking lot but I think the $9.00 per night fee was a little steep.”

“This was not a good experience, the first room has an oversized twin bed for 2 people and the sofa in the room had stains all over it. When requesting a different room, all that was available was a room with a Jacuzzi, so I had to pay extra $ per night! The new room had torn wallpaper, a broken chair, hairs in the basket on the vanity and stuck to the wall next to the sink! There were people in the hall until 3:30 am screaming and yelling - it sounded like they were in bed with me it was so loud. They charge $9 per day for parking, but if you stay out too late, you will come back to a full lot with nowhere to park, like I did - I had to go to the front desk and ask them where to park and they told me to make my own space along the building! I also asked why they oversold the parking and I was told that they didn't - yet there was not enough space. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.”

“My stay at the Clarion was average at best. The hotel staff was not very friendly or welcoming and the room was decorated in dull colors. The whirlpool in the room was enjoyable and a good size but with the upgrade to this room, value was average. There are other hotels in the same area with same amenities.”

• The people who worked there were very friendly.
• The curtains in my room were falling off the wall & I was between the elevator and the vending machine.

“The hotel is in a good location and the people who work there are very friendly. However, the room I was given had stains on the carpet and walls, the curtain rods were falling off the wall and the room I was put in was between the elevator and the vending machine, so I was woken many times in the night and early morning.”

“The location was ok. You had to pay $9 for parking each day, there was no wireless internet, no free continental breakfast. The pool was right off the main lobby - very weird. There was no "Do not disturb" sign and the housekeeper was very disruptive, even when I asked her not to disturb us for at least 1/2 hour, she knocked on the door 5 minutes later. The vending machines only took coins and were only on every other floor.”

• The chairs in our room were worn and stained.

“Good location but a bit worn out rooms. Clean, friendly staff. Pool area looked much nicer in the photos, you are really showing yourself to everybody in the lobby/street because of the glass covering three sides of the area.”

“We did enjoy our stay, the only problems we had were kids running all over the different levels of the floors yelling and pressing numbers on the elevators. When we came back in the evening there was no parking spot available and we had to park down the road. Was not happy.”

• I liked the price in comparison to the location.

• Extremely noisy and disruptive (hockey tournament).

“We arrived to find out the hotel was overrun with parents and kids attending a hockey tournament. Very noisy and disruptive. We asked to be as far away from the noise as we could, it was recommended that we upgrade to a suite for $30.00 as we figured this would alleviate the problem; however, upon arriving on our floor, the hallway was blocked by tables, chairs, food, booze, and extremely noisy and disruptive people. We lugged our luggage back down stairs and were given another room (minus the fireplace) for the same $30.00,a room that smelled of old smoke, but we were assured that there had never been smoking in the hotel. Upon reading that the hotel had gone smoke free May 1/2007, that information might not have been accurate. A totally not fun experience I will spread the word about the clarion.”

• Room a bit dirty.

“Overall a great place to stay. Close to many attractions. Very close to the falls and the rainbow bridge to the US. We were able to upgrade to a Jacuzzi suite (for an additional charge) upon arrival. When we got to our room however the Jacuzzi was dirty and the toilet had been used. We called the front desk who and staff came and had the room reclined in 20 minutes.”

“We booked a room with 2 double beds, however when we checked in, the room has only 1 twin bed and the ceiling shows sign of water damage molding. After some negotiations, we were given a much bigger and cleaner room with 2 double beds, as originally requested. We were unaware of the $9 parking fee, which if we had known we might have booked another hotel. The drainage in the bathtub is so bad that hair would flow out from the drain and water were above ankle high when we finished showering. The hallway was noisy with kids running and people talking/yelling at 2-3am!”

“Overall this hotel was good for the night that we spent at Niagara falls. The staff at the front desk was something to be desired. They were not very accommodating at first. They eventually changed what I needed and the rest was history.”

• The first room we were given was not clean and the bed was not comfortable.

“After a brief talk with the manager about our concerns over our original room he was able to give us a refund of our upgrade and parking and place us in a much more comfortable room.”

• Cleanliness was not what I expected.

“After checking in we were surprised the room was some what unclean. At approximately 3:00 am a bunch of younger people started to invade the 2nd floor. They were drunken, disorderly and loud and boisterous. After calling the front desk to complain I was told that they couldn't do much about it other than come up to the floor and ask people to stop. This continued on until 7 am the next morning until a new staff member finally kicked some of the problematic clients out of the hotel. I have stayed in hotels, motels, condos etc. Around the world and this was one of the absolute worst experiences to have to put my family through. I have family in the immediate area of Niagara falls not. And they were surprised that the hotel would not rectify the situation.”

• The bathtub was not clean. There were no adequate face towels. We had to call the desk twice for needed supplies which should have been there.

• Clean a friendly and the pool area was very nice, pool was heated and fun.
• Nothing, they even waived the parking charge.

“For the price we paid it was excellent value. Parking was waived and we enjoyed our visit. Reception staff was very helpful.”

• The value did not meet my expectations.

“I have had several disappointments within the last few years, but this was the worst. Many of the hotels I have stayed in at Niagara falls have free shuttle service to main attractions, but this one doesn't. In addition, many do not have parking fees. After adding the parking fees, I could have stayed in a different hotel for cheaper. ”
