• The hotel is centrally located.
• There was no breakfast provided, and we had to pay $10.00 for parking.

“The hotel is right in downtown Ottawa. The rooms are adequate and clean. There was a fold-out couch for our adult daughter who was traveling with us, and coffee maker in the room. It was clean.”

“While there are some hotels with better location in downtown Ottawa, few have the easy access to in and outbound traffic routes. This location has everything you need.”

• Helpful friendly staff, good location.
• The hotel gives a room with problems. This time noisy AC and no TV volume. Then moved to new room.

“Maintenance man tells me 6th floor was empty but they started us in a room on the 6th floor with a door to an adjoining room, noisy AC and volume was not working on TV. He moved us to the other end of the hall. Quiet room and everything worked. Frustrating at times.”

• Friendly staff, clean room with comfortable beds, convenient location, ample parking.
• No dining facility of their own.

“The hotel was everything I had expected it to be. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I had left my camera behind when I checked out. The staff found the camera and forwarded it to me by courier post. The room was spacious, clean and equipped with internet connection. The bathroom had all the usual amenities one would expect. But most of all, it was clean. Shops and restaurants, as well as the parliament hill were in walking distance. I can highly recommend the hotel to the weary traveler.”

• Hotel parking garage, can't depart. Leave between 11 pm and 7 am. Also the lighting in the room was limited. No lamp on desk, could not work.

“They should improve the lighting in the rooms. There is no desk lamp on the desk/table and hence I was unable to work. The lamps next to the bed were too low in brightness. Also, no Kleenex in bathroom. This is standard item nowadays. Otherwise, a nice place.”

• Needs updating - all areas.

“Hotel was booked basically as a place to lay my head down after going to a Sens game. Definitely not upscale but certainly OK for a economical, dry place to crash. If you're not fussy and can put up with a mediocre place, than this is the place for you. Just don't expect to get the high roller advantages. Don Cherry's restaurant is good, attached to the hotel, but service is somewhat slow. Can't really complain though given the price and star rating. Would stay here again for a leisure stay out on the town, but not for a romantic getaway.”

• Location near to By ward Market with its excellent restaurants.
• No public amenities such as pool, fitness room, limited parking (extra cost).

“The Hotel is inexpensive for a centrally located hotel walking distance form the By ward Market and Downtown Ottawa. The hotel itself is fairly basic and parking is cramped and at additional cost. Breakfast is also extra and in the attached Don Cherry's sports bar. TV reception was not great, but Internet access worked well. There are no fitness facilities and no pool. Rooms are looking a little old, but are generally in decent condition.”

• We liked that the location was very close to the market and central city bus services. Very convenient location.
• The television signal was fuzzy, and the front lobby was in disrepair.

“Pretty standard Ottawa business hotel. Nice warm place to stay but nothing special. Bathroom water pressure was up and down and made the shower a challenge. And the television picture was fuzzy, the coffee maker skuzzy. I also wasn't impressed with the long crack in the ceiling. The hotel should seriously consider investing some time into upgrading the premises.”

• Location was convenient. Parking, though paid, was available and well-guarded.
• No refrigerator, very small lobby, street noise (buses, cars) very audible.

“This hotel is basically just for guests to sleep for the night, as there are no other amenities other than TV and high speed internet. Many restaurants within a few blocks, high-end and not-so-high-end. For those who want to eat in, there is a convenience store across the street provided hot meals to go (though I thought their process were high, although that might just be Ottawa in general). But lack of refrigerators in rooms do not allow you to store any leftovers (i.e. Buy only what you can eat in one meal).”

“Indians beware great location. Right in middle of downtown. I had been there to Ottawa, Canada in the first week of may 2007. As usual, it's still cold up there. The hotel room was good. The service was ok. If you are not a Caucasian, the local people will try to take you back to ancient age old English French humiliation of colored people. Trust me folks, after my home country, I guess us is one of the most hospitable places I have ever traveled and lived. Probably it's been a long time that I forgot I am also a colored person. My last trip is an eye opener that I should never forget my roots. You don't believe me fellows that when I am walking in the hotel corridor, one person asked me "are you working in hotel?" in a tone that you would talk to an unknown alien creature. The local people would not even smile at you in any way and at any place you encounter them. I am sorry folks. May be I have used to great hospitality in us, I felt disappointed during my stay. No wonder I felt so warmth even though the weather outside is so chilly. If you guys wonder, I am an Indian settled in us for 7 years in one of the big metros.”

• Location is very perfect. Staff is very co-operative.

“Overall its a nice place to live. Every thing is in your near access because its in downtown so you can move any where easily. Cleanliness is good. But facilities are somehow limited like there was no freezer in the room even its a basic need. Overall its a good one.”

• The hotel staff at the reception in the night was not helpful, when we requested for a blanket for the child in the room.

“Location is good. Free Internet (wireless). The surrounding environment is not so good. Noisy and many beggars around. But it is downtown, understandable. 1-800 phone is not free in this hotel. Surprise! Parking is not free in this hotel. The front desk staff first gave me a room in which house keeping hadn't been done yet. had to call to change room.”

• The only negative about this hotel is the fee for parking, if parking was included it would be a fantastic deal.

• Clean...great pub in lobby

“The only downside to this hotel is the parking...underground and small...and $9.50/day. But that is a minor thing. The rooms are clean, but small and the hotel is easy walking distance to most things you'll want to do in Ottawa. Absolutely try Don Cherry's Restaurant in the lobby...the wings are AWESOME!”
