• I loved the Aveda toiletry products since they are natural and organic.
• The pool and fitness area closes at 11pm and we would have liked to use it after that time since we were out until 11pm.

“The Atlantica was a pleasant surprise! It was very classy in the lobby and the rooms were very nice. The hotel supplies Aveda bath products which is a bonus since they are such high quality. The pool and fitness area was top notch, the hot tub was hot, the sauna was hot, everything was perfect.”

• The hotel was clean and the staff excellent. The hotel is situated in a convenient location within Halifax.

• Hotel is has suitable accommodations and the staff is exceptionally friendly. It is in a good location although not right downtown as I was hoping for.
• The hotel is dated and it charges for parking when free parking is available on street.

“Hotel is in a convenient location, however the address is confusing. It is near all amenities and has a great view of the park (North facing) and a distant view of the water, however it is not located right downtown which would be ideal.”

• The reception staff were beyond superb.
• The bathtub had hair in it.

“This hotel is located in a great location in Halifax. You will require a short cab ride to downtown businesses but could walk when weather conditions were favorable.
Parking is available inside at small additional charge and the staff are excellent.”

“I stayed at this Holiday Inn for 9 days in Oct/Nov 08. I was in a double room and it was nice and spacious. The hotel is a bit of a walk from the waterfront, but not too bad, it took me about 20 minutes. There's an Atlantic Superstore and plenty of restaurants within a block or two of the hotel. The staff was great, I had to have some documents printed out and even though I went over the first 10 complimentary printouts, I wasn't charged. They also sent a couple of faxes to the United States and didn't bill me for them (at least not at check-out though, I was told that I had no charges). I had a great experience at this Holiday Inn and would be happy to stay here again.”

• A little dark; paying for parking since we were a little away from a downtown location.

“Good for travelers looking for a reasonable rate, not far from a downtown location. We had trouble with the air conditioner and the staff made sure it was fixed in a very short time. Good response! Grey Line was able to pick us up and drop us off at hotel.”

• The staff, although not knowledgeable about many aspects about the town, were very polite and friendly.
• I would have preferred to be closer to the harbor in Halifax, the food was not good from room service but the person who delivered it was polite.

“This is a reasonable choice for individual travelers or families seeking a moderate hotel. It is within easy walking distance (Quinpool Road) of many restaurants (try the Athens for an authentic Greek meal, run by a local family for Generations), a grocery store, and pizza shop (Dominos). The pool area is lovely for families. Children under 12 eat free. Parking is chargeable. A bit pricey and a drawback to this otherwise generally fine hotel with super staff and service.”

“My room was reasonable, but not at all soundproof. One could hear person in adjacent urinating and toilet flushing. Climate control in room was literally hot & cold. What's worse is AC in fitness room was not working for 3 days. Not worth the money.”

• The room was very clean and beds comfortable.
• When we came back from the show at midnight we were told there was no parking and we had to park down the road and walk back in the rain.

“The hotel is very nice and comfortable but the staff should have informed us that if we took the car out of the parking area we might not get a parking space when we came back even thought we paid $14 plus tax to park there. We came back at midnight and had to park down the road and walk back in the rain. They should have had security there to walk back with us.”

• The underground parking set up is dangerous and a bit nerve racking. We were not aware of the additional charge for the parking.

• Beds were not very comfortable, room and supplies in the room were dirty. Coffee pot etc. Rooms were way over priced.

“Well I have stayed in this hotel before and enjoyed it very much, but this time I was not impressed at all. Bed was very uncomfortable, heater/AC unit was very noisy and I couldn't turn it off because I beamed too cold in the room. Coffee pot was filthy. Probably the worst stay I had in a hotel before.”

• The 2 ladies at the front desk were excellent. Unfortunately I do not remember their names.
• There was nothing I did not like about the hotel.

“My husband and I were more then pleased with everything about the hotel. Our very first impressions were of the 2 beautiful ladies at the front desk. They, I must say started the trend of our stay and we definitely will return and will have no problem recommending the hotel to friends.”

• I did not like the fact that we had to pay an extra 13.00 for the parking.
