• Staff was friendly and helpful.
• They charged 20 dollars to park at the hotel, even though we were guests staying there.

“Hotel was clean and staff was great. When I asked for extra towels, a knock on the door in under 5 minutes and they were there. Parking at the hotel when a guest costs 10 dollars per night, this is absurd considering a guest is paying to stay there so the parking should be included.”

• Location was convenient to shopping mall.
• Our room was positioned across from the elevator - it was very noisy.

“The hotel in general was great. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The bathroom was very small - and the desk space was not convenient for my laptop. Not really a desk actually. Because we had the room across from the elevator, our room was quite noisy.”

• Comfort of the bed and pillows was FABULOUS!

• Very close to MicMac Mall for shopping.
• The bathroom (shower & toilet) is in a separate room from the sink. The bathroom had a bad smell, like a dirty mop was used to clean it.

“The hotel was OK but I've stayed in much nicer in the Halifax area through Priceline.”

• Excellent staff.
• Hotel elevator wasn't a always a smooth ride and didn't always completely open.

“A convenient location with a lovely outdoor pool. We highly recommend the food at the restaurant. Staff throughout the hotel and restaurant were fantastic.”

• The food was quite good, the service was excellent.
• No gift shop.

“Although it is not in Halifax itself, it is right by the bridge to Halifax which made getting to downtown Halifax a breeze (other than the 75 cent charge each way). The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, the hotel was very clean and quiet, the food was better than any Holiday Inn that I have ever stayed in, and the rooms were quiet comfortable and spacious. I think this is probably the nicest three star hotel I have ever stayed in.”

• Breakfast buffet was a surprise, good value at $15.00.
• Poor location.

“Arrived well before the posted check-in time, and I was able to check-in early before lunch. A staff member checked late in the afternoon if I had enough towels before she left for the day. Only ate at the restaurant once, and it was good. The staff was extremely friendly, it was a pleasure to stay there, and the property was clean and well kept.”

• The sink outside the washroom. The washroom was very small.

“The room service was messed up we didnt get what we ordered and the tea I couldnt drink because it tasted like coffee. The overall of the hotel was fine and I really liked how friendly and helpful the front desk was.”

• It was a smoking hotel, with no non-smoking rooms available!

• The friendly and courteous staff. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, especially the beds. We felt safe.
• The only irritation was that on our return trip was that there were no batteries in the remote and it took a trip to the front desk and a couple hours.

“Clean, comfortable, and safe environment with adequate parking. We found it to be well-situated for our needs between Halifax (downtown) and the airport.”

• The breakfast in the morning was excellent and the server was great. Hotel was quiet.
• Although the hotel was renovated in recent years it is still dated. It was clean and a decent place to stay. I just prefer more modern facilities.

“In my opinion, the hotel is not worth what the posted rates were showing. There was a smell of smoke in the hallway on our floor. In my opinion, if you have a non-smoking room, the entire floor should be non-smoking.”

• This hotel has beds that might have come out of a motel.

• Room was end unit making it very small, furthest from elevator. Didn't see a gym.

• Location and professionalism of staff.
• Window air conditioner freezes up, meaning long, sweaty nights.

“Clean, tidy ubiquitous Holiday Inn. Pleasant, except for faulty A/C unit. Rooms a bit small, but adequate - how much space does one really require if you are out touring all day? Staff is exceptional - room service, front desk, and dining room - these people make the hotel - and they do it at a 5-star level. Bravo to the staff.”

• Security seemed good and room was fine.
• Pricing and quality of the dining was out of balance with the area.

“Parking lot entry is not well marked and difficult to negotiate at night. Little or no accommodations for late arrival in regards to getting a snack. Even if dining couldn't be open at 10:00, the lobby shop could be. Area outside of hotel pretty limited and very poorly lit.”

• Front Desk called room 10 minutes after checking in to ask how everything was.
• I was expecting it to be a little more ritzy for being three stars.

• Late check in due to airport delays found hotel nearly full, resulting in bad room for first night. This was corrected for rest of stay.

• incredible location, nice pool, ask for a room with a view of halifax, couldn't get any better.

“This hotel is adequate and easy to access for bridge as you enter dartmouth. Not many eateries within walking distance, hotel desk said not to cross street and walk to shopping center so I assumed it was not a safe area. Easy to walk to historical district.”

• located across river from main attractions of Halifax

“Very upscale Holiday Inn. Staff was attentive. Our bellman was most helpful and friendly. He saw we had a small cooler, so he brought us a refrigerator. He also made suggestions about restaurants and bars. He gave us a little history lesson about Halifax. We have good memories about our treatment there. It approaches a Triple A four diamond rating.”
