  was comfortable, and having the
  DVD and lavender spray was a very nice touch.

“Located nicely down town easy to get to, friendly staff, eat in on the 24th floor didn't have reservations but they were very kind to find us a table very quickly, even though very busy. Great food, highly recommended, will definitely stay there again.”

• It is right downtown allowing for quicker trips anywhere in the city.
• They charge customers for parking over and above the room rate at the end of their stay.

“The lobby is nice and clean, however the age of the hotel is apparent once you see the rooms (i.e. worn and soiled hallway carpets and old wooden doors with a 1 inch gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. I was also very annoyed when I received a bill for parking at the end of my stay for $9.00 a day that we were never told about. The high end restaurant also closes early if they are slower a result we missed out on two events that we wanted to go to as decided to try this restaurant.”

• Convenient to the metro; good views from the room.
• Grungy and old fashioned lobby and hallways.

“Not worth the money. Large roomy room, free coffee machine (actually decent coffee); free internet was a bonus (brought my own cable). Great location to LRT and restaurants. Downtown is kind of dead though.”

• Free parking in basement, free breakfast on weekends.
• Elevator to garage dirty and smelly.

“Have stayed here several times and never been disappointed in the cleanliness of the rooms or by the staff. It could use some upgrades and renovations (some things have gotten a little well-used) but I can do without newer less worn items if its clean and their rooms always are. Have talked to the housekeepers and they all seem to take pride in their jobs and several had been there for many years. I love their beds as they use chiropractor recommended mattresses and I wake up refreshed and without a backache.”

• Nice view, close to mall, clean.
• The bed was very uncomfortable because it was so hard! Did not get much sleep.

“The hotel was beautiful and clean. It is close to the mall, good location. However the bed was really uncomfortable, so much so, we had sore backs the next day. We tossed and turned all night and could not get comfortable. Very tired in the morning. I was very disappointed and will not return again.”

• The city view was very impressive and the location was very convenient.
• The maintenance in the hotel was not very well done or up to date.

“The hotel overall is comfortable, the bed was excellent and in the end, a good sleep is the most important part for me. I did get the impression that the maintenance plan was following the old adage "if isn't broken, don't fix it." There were parts of the hotel that had been repaired, but the repaired part did not match with the rest of the decor. A creative renovation plan could easily make this hotel a 2.5 star to a 3+ star rating in my book.”

• The fitness room is great. Probably best hotel gym in the city.
• The decor of the rooms and the hotel in general is extremely outdated!

“The good: 1) The bed is comfortable and the sleep aid program with the CD and the lavender linen spray were nice touches. 2) A printed list of the TV channels. Simple yet helpful! 3) The fitness room has brand new equipment. Probably best hotel gym in the city. 4) Free wired/wireless internet. The bad: 1) The decor of the hotel and the rooms are extremely outdated. The decor just screams out "80s" in a bad way 2) Low grade toilet paper: can't believe a 3 star hotel would use such terrible toilet paper. Even mall public washrooms have better toilet paper! 3) Why are there plastic cups instead of actual glasses in the room?”

“The hotel staff was so very willing to assist with our requests and went out of their way to accommodate us. They had 3 huge weddings to look after and still, they were calm, friendly and fantastic! Would highly recommend Chateau Lacombe to friends!”

• The staff was amazing!
• The food at the restaurant was cold.

“This hotel is close to other hotels in the area but is too far away from the West Edmonton Mall (if you intend to go there). The hotel was very clean and the staff was great!”

• Beautiful view and access to everything.
• Very dated with the bathrooms and stains etc and where did the fridges go?

“Found the hotel needs serious upgrades, my bathtub was peeled 2 layers, rug was clean but stained lovely location but lets keep up with the times and hotels around you.”

• The bed was very comfortable.
• We were 8 stories up, the window opened and there was no screen or safety measure of any kind.

“Other than the window thing, the hotel was quite nice for a couple not for a family. They could not accommodate the family i.e., there was a room with a king size bed available. So I am not sure whether that is a hotel. The hotel itself was clean, well kept and the staff was very courteous. The location was convenient for our activities and we enjoyed our stay.”

• Nice and friendly staff. Clean room.
• Paid parking at basement. Refilled only one pack of coffee .

• Great location, friendly Staff.
• The carpet in the elevator from the parking garage is disgusting, very bad first impression.

“Great location downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. Wireless high speed Internet was great. The only thing wrong with this hotel was the filthy carpet in the elevator from the parking garage. The need to make it tile or replace the carpet more often.”

• I really liked walking into my room with a valley view and a neat sleep program (CD, lavender spray, blind fold) for good sleeping.
• The elevators are really weird and dingy - esp. in parking area. I also don't like paying for parking.

“I would highly recommend this hotel for the weary, burnt out leisure guest trying to get away from the madness of the world. We were treated superbly and the beautiful feather down duvets were so inviting. We also enjoyed the sleep CD and sleep enhancing package. Reservations accommodated our requests and we had a beautiful room with a valley view. Awesome!”

• Convenient, close to downtown Edmonton, restaurants and shops within walking distance.
• Hard to find, staff at front desk could be more courteous to tourists requesting service and/or help.

“There was a blonde girl with glasses who worked there showed a long face all the time. Tourists pay to stay at the hotel and deserve better service. Smiles should be free!”

• This hotel was very clean and the room was awesome.
• Parking is not included in the price of the room.

“This hotel in Edmonton was very clean and well maintained. I would encourage any business traveler to stay here, there is no pool or hot tub though and so families might not have anything to do.”

• Room was clean and pleasant.
• Lobby was in need of upgrade. Elevators were not clean.

“The hotel was generally pleasant. The staff was attentive and friendly. However, attention to detail and cleanliness was lacking. The carpet in the lobby was worn and needed to be replaced. Lobby furniture was unkempt. The curtains in our room were in disrepair.”

“Not impressed with the parking. As you enter the parking area, the roof is caving in. I'm sure it is safe but not a good feeling. The room we were in is small and so so for cleanliness. It would not be a hotel that I would choose to stay in.”

“The only problems were:I was not advised (before booking) that there was a $9/day parking charge.
The keyboard for the computer in their business centre was filthy black and grimy.”
