“It works well for business travelers, but for a one-night stay at the end of a vacation (heading to airport the next day), it was more trouble than it was worth. Parking is in a parkade; getting off the downtown street into the busy front entrance area, wasn't nearly as easy as driving into a non-downtown area where there are simple parking lots at hotels. Front desk staff was very professional. We were accidentally assigned the same room as someone else who checked in at the same time - apparently due to the other people using a kiosk to check in at the same time we were checking in with the staff. So there was a second visit to the front desk to get that sorted out; we were upgraded to a nicer room without asking or expecting it. Meanwhile, it was getting later at night and it seemed like it was taking a while just to get into our room. Needing internet access to check our flight information for the following day, we noticed a card on the desk saying to check the guest services book for internet information. Unfortunately, the information was missing from the book in our room, as was all the other informations that would usually be found therein. It contained only the room service and restaurant info. I called the front desk and they offered to send up another book. I asked about the internet availability; however, only after walking to the business center did we learn that it was closed for the night. It would have been helpful if the hours had been given by phone. The next morning, I was startled when, after stepping out of the shower, a window washer showed up outside the 2 small bathroom windows (17th floor!). There are thing shades covering the bathroom windows; I could see the man, not sure if he could see me. It would have been nice to know that there would be window washing; this notice was provided at another hotel we stayed at previously.” Jul 22, 2009 by

“Overall a beautiful hotel with outstanding rooms and good service. The resturants and lounges are top notch, if not a little expensive.” Jul 14, 2009 by
Bill from Richardson,TX
“When I arrived, the doorman asked if I needed my vehicle during my stay. Since I did not, Apr 1, 2009 by

“I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. It had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Close to many amenities. I would definitely stay there again.” Jan 28, 2009 by
Donalee from Winnipeg,Canada
“Good - Hotel was very nice. Centrally located, close to shopping and restaurants. Bathroom in our room was very spacious. Bad - beds were small, they were only doubles. Parking is extra and very expensive.” Jan 24, 2009 by
Lance and Lilly from Edmonton,Canada
“Rivals the palliser - not as charming, however, the location is better and the service is equally excellent!” Sep 10, 2008 by
Pam from San Francisco, CA
“The hotel is in a great part of town and convenient for shopping and dining. The room is not big and amenities are only standard, but the room feels new and relatively clean. The gym, pool, Jacuzzi and sauna are on a high floor with a panoramic view of the city. Parking is expensive but probably due to the location.” Sep 10, 2008 by
Helen from Edmonton, AB CA
“Our room were small and has a smell. No exhaust fan in the bathroom so it stinks when someone is using it. Not what I expected from a four star hotel. Not recommended for a family that's traveling.” Sep 8, 2008 by
Colleen from Medicine Hat, AB CA
“Would definitely stay again! Excellent coffee!” Sep 4, 2008 by
Dave M. from Leduc, AB CA
“I was extremely disappointed with this hotel. We were told that they would have a room for us in 1/2 an hour, after coming back they tried again to give me the 16th floor, so after 2 more hours they were able to clear a room for us with a king bed and we had to get a cot. I missed a diner date with friends and was very upset with having to wait 2.5 hours just to get a room. I gave a low rating for the staff in that I was lied too, if he had told me it was going to take 2 hours I could have gone to my dinner date.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Jo-Anne from Blackie, AB CA
“The room was so dusty that if I had asthma there would be no way I could have stayed in that room. Even the bathroom counter had not been cleaned. The TV was so archaic that I couldn't even plug in my camcorder. The rest of the furniture fit right along with it. The bedding linen was fitted so poorly it all came un-tucked. The fitness room was extremely cramped though the equipment was top of the line. Single cup coffee makers don't cut it for a double occupancy.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Rob from Seattle, WA
“Grand, contemporary hotel, conveniently located downtown next to many eateries/pubs.” Sep 2, 2008 by

“Very nice.” Sep 2, 2008 by

“Great hotel if you want to stay in downtown Calgary. Direct access to shopping on 8th Ave, with no cars and direct access to Sky Train, if needed.” Aug 31, 2008 by
Judy from Markham, ON CA
“Very conveniently located but the there are a lot of extras that such as local calls, parking and internet that are not included and quite pricey.” Aug 24, 2008 by
Ken from St. Albert, AB CA
“Rooms a bit tired. Check in staff very friendly, concierge very sketchy.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Maureen from Algonquin, IL
“Although food and drinks were expensive, they were both well worth it and the service was the best I have had in many, many business trips. Room was updated and clean, clean, clean. Everything from room service to valet parking was efficient, friendly and exactly what you would expect (but do not always get) from a 4 star hotel. It was a wonderful experience.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Brian from Edmonton, AB CA
“I was very pleased with this hotel. The staff was excellent and the room was very comfortable. I've stayed at other upscale hotels in Calgary and the Hyatt is above or on par with most of those. The only complaints would be that the television in the room was a bit outdated and the self checkout feature could not be completed due to technical issues. In my opinion, these are very minor issues and I would definitely stay at the Hyatt again.” Aug 10, 2008 by
Mike from Las Vegas, NV
“A very nice hotel in the heart of Calgary. Located on a friendly walking mall with lots of restaurants.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Donna from Sioux Falls, SD
“This hotel delivers what you would expect from a 4 star Hyatt. Great location right downtown. Staff was great, helpful, even funny when my daughter checked in wearing her oil field gear. Nice pool and hot tub. Quiet rooms. Actually has enough elevators, no waiting.” Aug 3, 2008 by
Craig from Coquitlam, BC CA
“We loved it. The central location downtown was perfect just a few steps from the C train, which takes you almost everywhere in Calgary. One block off of the main shopping and eating area. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was a perfect blend of old and new architecture, stunning yet very warm and cozy too. The room was very nice and quiet. We were on the 8th floor and heard no traffic noise from outside. We definitely will return, for holidays and business.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Kara from Longview, TX
“The location on Stephen Ave is very convenient for tourist spots. Hotel is very nice and clean. Great restaurants nearby, Avenue Diner and Saltlick comes to mind.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Perry from Riverview, FL
“NA.” Jul 9, 2008 by

“Very nice hotel in a prime location within walking distance to many attractions.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Sean from Vars, ON CA
“Not crowded, excellent value for money.” May 31, 2008 by
Joy from Hereford, AR
“We spent the night there and were not expecting to pay so much for the overnight parking! It was either spends $25.00 and tries to find your own parking or valet, if there were other choices nobody told us about them. With so much road construction and one way streets it was very hard to get to the hotel, since we have never been to Calgary.” May 27, 2008 by
Carlos from Mississauga, ON CA
“Great business hotel.” May 22, 2008 by
Stephen from Edmonton, AB CA
“Enjoyed my stay. Service was very good and we were promptly attended to whenever needed.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Pam from Saskatoon, SK CA
“The Hyatt is an excellent hotel located in the heart of Downtown Calgary, within walking distance of good shopping and concert venues. The hotel meets the standard of a luxury hotel with well-trained staff and excellent service. I had a double bed room that was very clean with high quality beds and bedding, but seemed a bit small and in need of some minor upgrading for luxury hotel accommodation. The bathroom was well appointed and quite large. Great restaurant and good workout facilities.” Apr 29, 2008 by
Blaine from Edmonton, MB CA
“In the heart of Calgary, and the arts/shopping and dining area of Stephens Avenue. Parking was an additional $25.00 for the night. Rooms were clean, but not vacuumed that well. Beds were much too soft, with no back support. Staff was helpful.” Apr 21, 2008 by
Meg from Richmond, TX
“Hotel was conveniently located in Downtown Calgary near the LRT station. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable, clean and stocked with good quality amenities.” Apr 7, 2008 by
Shawn from Edmonton, AB CA
“Great room.” Mar 27, 2008 by
Tuula from Maple Ridge, BC CA
“Its best assets are the location, cleanliness, service and amenities.” Mar 26, 2008 by
Bill from Vancouver, BC CA
“Great location in Calgary. Close to transit/restaurants. The hotel staff was very professional. The hotel was very clean. I was a bit disappointed at the room at this price point however. Small TV (CRT) no LCD monitor. No free internet access which I have seen at many competing hotels in my travels.” Mar 19, 2008 by
Debbie from San Diego, CA
“The Hyatt is located in the heart of Downtown in close proximity to many great restaurants & shopping. The staff is outstanding with exceptional service.” Mar 11, 2008 by
Sheri from Edmonton, AB CA
“I would recommend this hotel based on location. The room was spacious and clean, although the pool and steam room were not quite as well-kept, at least on the one night we were there. I would not classify this hotel as a 4 star deluxe, but overall, we had a good experience. Front desk staff was quite friendly and we didn't have any problems checking in or out.” Feb 28, 2008 by
Peter from Boulder, CO
“Nicely appointed rooms and public areas. Fast elevators. Helpful and pleasant staff. But be prepared to pay $25 extra for parking if you want to park at the hotel. Lots of construction going on downtown nearby, so driving to/from the hotel can be trying at times.” Feb 25, 2008 by
Dalton from Lethbridge, AB CA
“The Hyatt in Calgary is a new hotel - that more than lives up to the Hyatt standard of clean rooms, helpful friendly staff and 4 star appointments. I would stay there anytime and my spouse enjoyed the Downtown location where good shopping is nearby.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Odette from Camden, ME
“The hotel was in the perfect location for us and what we wanted to do in Calgary. The restaurant experience was unfortunate, but the manager did apologize that the Australian chef was new. The service staff in the restaurant tried, but were let down by the kitchen. The hotel itself was great. They must have a shortage of good cleaning staff as it was very late by time the room was made up. Because we were there for 4 days, I don't think they bothered too much with detailing the room over that time.” Feb 14, 2008 by
Gj from Winnipeg, MB CA
“Staying at the Hyatt surpassed my expectations. I am usually a dedicated Westin Calgary guest, but since the recent Reno's, it is no longer my favorite hotel. The 24 hour gym at the Hyatt and the excellent service and motivation of the staff has made me love the Hyatt. Big, clean rooms. Too far from the Downtown core, but I am very familiar with Calgary and feel comfortable walking to my destinations.” Jan 15, 2008 by
Darla from Delburne, AB CA
“Wonderful. Room was nice, bathroom very big, bed was super comfy had a great time, parking is expensive though, staff was very friendly.” Jan 11, 2008 by
Lauri from Kalispell, MT
“Although the room itself was not outstanding, the service more than made up for it with the staff going out of their way to make our stay memorable and exceptional. I would highly recommend this hotel.” Jan 9, 2008 by
Ken from Sherwood Park, AB CA
“Great location, family friendly, Would recommend to family and friends alike.” Jan 7, 2008 by
Dale from Red Deer, AB CA
“Very pleasant stay. The hotel was clean and inviting.” Jan 7, 2008 by
Donald from Medicine Hat, AB CA
“The hotel was in great shape, rooms were very clean. Fitness and pool we're in great shape! Shopping very close by, great location. Hotel made you feel like you were at home. I would definitely stay there again.” Jan 6, 2008 by
Wendy from Edmonton, AB CA
“I have stayed at this hotel numerous times before in the past 4 years and even once organized a 500 seat banquet here. Although the basic rooms at the Westin a few blocks down are nicer, the Hyatt has much more hospitable, courteous and knowledgeable staff that make a stay more enjoyable.” Jan 2, 2008 by
Daniel B. from Ottawa, ON CA
“Overall very nice. Beautiful view, central location, clean, tastefully decorated room.” Dec 31, 2007 by
Mark from Calgary, AB CA
“The Hyatt is a lovely hotel with all the amentias and attention to detail one would expect from a 4 star hotel. The pools and exercise room are excellent and the view of the train line (LRT) kept my kids occupied for 20 minutes while I read my book. The only 2 drawbacks are it is not linked to the plus 15 walkway (a very minor issue), and that it is a little closer to some homeless shelters then other hotels. That being said there were no issues when walking around after dark.” Dec 31, 2007 by
John from Lethbridge, AB CA
“Located in Downtown Calgary, easily accessible. Choice of valet or underground parking on own. Both very expensive. Need to factor this in when booking. An excellent hotel though. Clean, safe and comfortable.” Dec 17, 2007 by
Kong from Calgary, AB CA
“Rented a car from the airport, however, when I reached the Hyatt Calgary, there was no parking in the hotel or nearby. they did not care if I was staying there, just told me that no parking was available because they are very busy with Christmas dinners etc. it was the same next day, and they asked me to Park 5 blocks away in 15c weather. Totally unacceptable.”
