• I like the price.
• The hotel did not have parking.

“I thought the hotel was great for the price, however if I had paid full price I would've been disappointed. The heater in the room was very loud and switched on and off through out the night, waking us up. As we got there late and really were only sleeping, this was quite irritating. Also the light fixture in the shower was broken with exposed wires. Not very safe. Other than that it was a very nice hotel.”

• Location was perfect, the room was too clean.
• The beds are very narrow.

“The location was great, the room was too clean and cozy. I just did not like their double bed as it is too small and narrow. I wish they do have queen beds in the double bed rooms.”

• Very helpful staff.
• Beds and pillows were very uncomfortable.

“Nice location. Convenient parking at the hotel. They provide valet parking or you can park your car at a public lot. Valet is cheaper, but hotel was unaware of that. Overall a very nice hotel, but the bed was uncomfortable.”

• The staff was right there asking you if they could do anything for you, and if they could be of any help to you with anything were very genuine.
• Cannot think of anything that I did not like.

“My family and I had an excellent stay, enjoyed the pool, hot tub, exercise room, and the rooms. Staff were especially patient with the grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, we had three rooms, and were coming and going all the time.”

• The comforters were awesome. The rooms were spacious.

• Staff were great, lobby was nice, outside front well lit.
• Didn't like the room, older building, smaller rooms, only double beds.

“I wouldn't stay here again as the rooms were on the smaller side, no fan in the bathroom, you can only get double beds if you have two beds, no queens available.”

• Geared to business travel, wires dangling from TV, single serve coffee etc.

• Service was exceptional.
• No locker room at pool/gym (this is really minor.)

“The service at this hotel was absolutely exceptional. I was greeted warmly by the valet attendant (I didn't valet park) and then the front desk staff who even offered me a bottle of cold water while I was checking in. I had requested a very specific type of room and received exactly what I asked for. The business facilities were included with no extra charge for internet, not usual at this type of hotel. Every hotel employee did everything possible to make my stay enjoyable. They succeeded. By the way, the rooms, facilities, pool are all very nice and similar to what you would see at other Marriott hotels. I would strongly recommend this hotel.”

• Very friendly staff, nice sized rooms.
• No parking other then valet which was $35.00 a day.

“Nice location right across the street from Calgary tower. The pool and whirl pool were very nice but there were no change rooms so you had to walk back to you room dripping wet. I did not like that there was no overnight parking anywhere near the hotel so if you drive by car you really have no choice but to use the valet which is a $35.00 a day fee.”

• Very clean and the staff was very helpful.
• Parking was expensive 25-35 per night. Between parking and tipping the valet it was very costly.

“Very nice hotel. It met all of my expectations. Parking was expensive, you would not be able to park your vehicle on your own due to the hotel being located downtown.”

• The room was very spacious and extremely comfortable.
• Although it's a non smoking hotel
  I did have a cigarette smell in my room.

“Overall, I was very pleased with the hotel there was a pool and fitness center which I usually look for at hotels. The restaurant staff was friendly and the food was nice. It was a very comfortable room and I will stay there again on future trips to Calgary.”

• Starbucks in hotel.
• Mandatory valet parking.

“Great hotel. Mostly exceptional service, except when the doorman opened our car door into cement pillar creating small chips. We ended up getting assistance, but they tried to brush the paint chips off as being small and not worthy of insurance. Otherwise, great location, amenities, and very clean!”

• The long lines in the a.m. at Starbucks!

“Very clean and comfortable with a great location. The worst thing I could say about this hotel was that the long lines at Starbucks in the a.m. made it necessary to come down 15 minutes early for coffee. The hotel staff was quite nice and the valet parking was reasonably priced. The Calgary Tower and Ruth's Chris are right across the street and there were many places to dine within a safe walking distance. Great experience overall.”

• A lot of construction closes by, dangerous to walk Downtown at night.

“This hotel is in walking distance of most of Calgary's major attractions and close to public transit. Though not for the budget traveler, it does give excellent value for it's location by giving one the choice of whether to spend a little or a lot. Two thumbs up.”

• There was only valet parking.

“The hotel was beautiful, however, there were a lot of hidden extra costs. Phone calls were $1.10 per call from the room; if you didn't cancel the newspapers, you would receive them automatically and be charged for them. There was only valet parking available which was $30.00 plus tip. The staff was very eager to take your luggage upstairs, for a tip. It was downtown, however, any of the nicer restaurants were not within walking distance. I was a bit surprised that there were paper cups for the coffee and not real coffee cups. But the rooms themselves were very clean and comfortable.”

• Location, property and room condition and service was all perfect.
• Not the most suitable hotel with younger children but an excellent hotel otherwise.

“The hotel is located across the Marriott and has most amenities that one would expect from an downtown upscale hotel. The service and staff is absolutely the best. I've stayed at this hotel several years in the past for business. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

• The parking fees (valet) added significantly to the price of the hotel.

“Were generally pleased with room. The valet staff was particularly helpful and friendly. Appreciate nice white linens on bed indicating clean bedding. Wished wireless was available in more than just lobby for casual users.”

• The bed was the most comfortable and inviting as I have ever experienced in a hotel. The TV was big and great for being latest technology.
• The restaurant buffet needs to keep it's food fresher, later breakfast eaters get old bacon, French toast, etc.

“I walked into the lobby feeling impressed but when I walked into the room I felt very pleased with the brightness, presentation, cleanliness and quality of furniture. Any requests were met with enthusiasm by any and all staff. The best stay I have ever had in a hotel.”
