“I took my husband to celebrate his 60th birthday at the Blomidon Inn. After reading a couple of reviews that were less than 100 percent positive, I was a little worried, but when I got there, I was incredibly impressed with the level of beauty, comfort, welcome, and attention to the smallest detail the staff at this Inn gave us. I had purchased the 2 days, one night Romantic Getaway package for a very good price, which included champagne and truffles, one full Captain's Dinner, a nice continental breakfast both mornings, as well as a charming afternoon tea, both days. I could easily have paid more in Halifax at a plain motel, with nothing extra. Within minutes of our arrival, one of the wait staff showed up at our door with a silver ice bucket of iced champagne, elegant glasses and a box of hand made truffles. From the moment we arrived to the moment we regretfully left, our entire experience was positive, warm, relaxing and just made you want to smile. Staff remembered the little things, such as where we liked to sit in one of the smaller dining rooms (the library room), kept my coffee or tea cup filled, ran errands for us, and generally made us feel like we were guests they'd been waiting for, and were happy to see us. The dining experience (we decided to dine there both nights) was some of the best food I've ever had. I can't say enough good about the Blomiden Inn grounds (which are gorgeous, especially the serpentine trail and the fountains and gardens), the staff, the Inn itself, the food and the ambiance. What a lucky find!” Nov 8, 2008 by

“I have written to the Inn with regards to my experience a few weeks ago and have yet to hear back. I went so far as to re-send it in order to give them the opportunity to explain some of the shortcomings. The cleanliness was by far my biggest issue. The layers of dust in the dining room, atrocious, and the table linens unchanged from each seating and day to night. There was no ambient music at all and that made it hard to dine romantically with other tables nearby. We stayed in the Perth Cottage which while it was lovely inside in terms of decor, had a broken shower door and faucet as well as an unclean large Jacuzzi tub. The cottage was not nestled into the property as we had thought but adjacent to the residential side street. Very disappointed overall, especially with the lack of communication on their part at this time.” May 9, 2007 by
