“Very nice rooms and excellent location, nice restaurants were within the hotel and surrounded with other nice restaurants. Complementary breakfast was nice as well.” Jun 4, 2009 by
Kathy from South Surrey,Canada
“We had looked at the Magnolia's website before booking. They listed king or queen beds as a standard room so we went with them. But when we asked for a king room explaining we have sleeping in a king bed for 30 years and we find it hard to sleep in anything else at this point, they refused. First they told us the hotel was full. Then someone else told us we could get one but at $60 more per night! Bad customer service! We had two sleepless nights and arrived home more worn out than rested! Our weekend of relaxing was ruined thanks to the staff on the front desk. We will never go back and can't recommend it to others.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 13, 2009 by

“Although small, it's a lovely hotel. There is a convenient continental breakfast in the morning and the staff is really friendly and helpful.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 11, 2008 by

“Room was clean, but too small for the price. It was located close to most of the sites I wanted to visit downtown. Staff was friendly.” Jul 23, 2008 by
Roger from Orlando, FL
“Good value for Victoria and the location is great. Just one block from the water front, surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants. Very helpful staff!” Apr 15, 2008 by
Jackie from Lutz, FL
“Excellent hotel, staff was very courteous, always smiling and helpful. They offered activities and sites to see for the day. I had made the wrong dates for reservations, they said not to worry, gave us an upgrade and helped me get through an embarrassing situation. All in all, this was the highlight of our hotel stays while traveling on the west coast, we are from Florida.” Mar 30, 2008 by
Christina A. from Burnaby, BC CA
“We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was excellent and the staff was great. The continental breakfast was one of the better ones we have experienced and it was served in the restaurant rather than a "meeting room" which was much more comfortable. The toiletries in the room were Aveda and were replenished every morning. The hotel lobby has a comfortable classy seating area and coffee and tea are available to you at any time and there are both travel cups and mugs to choose from. We will stay here next time we go and have already recommended it to friends and family. Victoria has a lot to offer and it is nice being able to leave the car at home and still see it all while being able to stay at an upscale hotel.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Joe from Mount Vernon, WA
“Overall the hotel was very nice. Only negative for us was the pool. We chose this hotel in part because it appeared there was a pool, when in fact the hotel provides a free pass for the YMCA 1.5 blocks away. Well, there is a big difference for us between riding an elevator to the pool, and walking 1.5 blocks to the YMCA, especially in February. We probably wouldn't have selected this hotel if we had understood the pool arrangement. Also, this hotel accepted pets, but only with a $60 cleaning fee. The fee applies to your entire visit, but is rather expensive if you are staying only one night.” Feb 10, 2008 by
Jack from Pittsburgh, PA
“This Holiday Inn is an adequate hotel for a business traveler to Victoria. Nothing elaborate and a very ho-hum restaurant. It would not be a good choice for vacationers. It is quite far from the attractions in Downtown. Be wary of the "on premise laundry facilities". There is one washer and one dryer for 200+ rooms.” Aug 25, 2007 by
Cindy from Portland, OR
“Exceptionally clean, great service, excellent continental breakfast, outstanding spa services.” Aug 17, 2007 by
Jo-Anne from Dewinton, AB CA
“Nice, clean facility with very charming staff. The continental breakfast was a real treat. We also appreciated our very comfortable reading area in the room. The location is perfect for anyone wanting to see the sights because you can walk anywhere!” Aug 16, 2007 by
Leslie from Morrow, OH
“This hotel is located one block from the Inner Harbor area so all attractions are within walking distance.” Aug 12, 2007 by
Stacie from Walnut Creek, CA
“A lovely place to stay that felt to be home away from home. I would not hesitate booking the hotel for travel to Victoria.” Jul 12, 2007 by
Barbara from Calif, CA
“Excellent location, room was beautiful, service was very good.” Aug 12, 2006 by
Brian M. from Oakland, CA
“We were not given access to our room until after 4:30pm, even though we arrived at 11 am, checked in, and were told to return at 3pm. (if they know you are waiting and tired, can't they specifically clean your room first?) It's not that large of a hotel. There is no pool or hot tub, and the fitness center is a joke. The rooms were spacious and nicely done. Ask for a corner room up high with a view of the harbor. The hotel management should know that the woman checking guests in (Emma) is not very friendly or customer oriented. I had the valet come over and "rescue" me when I asked her a simple question and she was rude to me, even he seemed embarrassed by her behavior. In general, hotel seems understaffed. Other than the staffing issues, the property itself is very nice.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Aug 2, 2006 by

“The Magnolia has a perfect location. Located directly in the shopping area of Victoria, all attractions are located closely to this hotel. The amenities made me not want to leave the room. Great mini bar stocked with fun items as well as the normal alcohol, and at a fairly reasonable price (The beer was cheaper in the mini bar than at the pub). We opted for the champagne. The bathroom was very nice, and had Aveda brand toiletries. Plus a bath fizz, which was fun. Although we didn't take advantage of the Aveda spa which was located on our floor, our stay was much more than anticipated. We highly recommended the Magnolia.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 7, 2006 by

“Would never stay here again. Given the worst room on 2nd floor. Heard traffic and was kept awake by loud air conditioner. Awaken by restaurant noise down below. Room smelled from restaurant. Very disappointed! Will not go back.” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.May 17, 2006 by

“Excellent experience overall, although I would have appreciated parking included with room.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 3, 2006 by

“We have stayed at a few hotels in Victoria and the Magnolia out shines them all. The downtown location makes easy access to shops and restaurants. The room was very comfortable and nicely apportioned. We are quite happy with our stay at the Magnolia, in fact we will stay there whenever we are in town.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 23, 2006 by

“I love the Magnolia hotel. It has an intimate feeling that you will not find in the larger hotels in Victoria. The downside is that the staff is somewhat inexperienced. I however, prefer this inexperience to a more polished "too hip for you" kind of staff. The location is wonderful, the beds cozy, the coffee excellent. I will return.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 15, 2005 by

“Excellent Hotel-booked on Labor Day at the last minute. We had a lovely room which was very comfortable, clean, and the bathroom is large with a great soaking tub.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
