“Very impressed. Very clean, hallways smelled good, service at the counter was pleasant to deal with. They extended our stay (late checkout), and did not charge for fridge (no reason, they just said no cost to you). This was the only hotel I ever stayed at that had liquid hand and body wash as opposed to mini soaps (loved the smell of the body wash and preferred them over the soap). Only downfall is the rooms were small. Food at the downstairs pub was good. Would stay again.” Oct 16, 2006 by

“Good, I am satisfied.” May 14, 2006 by

“I was 100% happy with my stay at the Strathcona Hotel. The rooms were small but well-equipped, clean, and nice looking. I've been to Toronto a number of times, and no other hotel competes with the Strathcona in terms of location and style for the price. I highly recommend.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.May 5, 2006 by

“The Strathcona is located in the heart of the entertainment district of Toronto. It is walking distance to as many as 10 of the major theaters. the staff was bright and cheerful and we wanted for nothing. It is located conveniently to at least 20 restaurants. While it does not offer a parking facility, it has a contract with an outdoor facility only 2 blocks away. It is convenient to public transportation and taxi service is always on hand. The desk provides information about local current events. The breakfast buffet is only slightly pricy, but there is a 24 hour coffee place right around the corner on Wellington. We would stay there again for sure.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 21, 2006 by

“They didn't provide a room that had high speed internet. The front desk attendant said, I have to pay $25 extra to get that type of room and $15 more to get internet access for 24 hours. They weren't friendly. Also, the rooms are very small compared to all the hotels I have seen.” Dec 7, 2005 by

“Good for the price.” Oct 31, 2005 by

“The strathcona is in an amazing location being only 2 min from the air Canada centre. The only problem was the rooms were very small and there was a piece on gum stuck in the carpet from the people before us.” Oct 26, 2005 by

“Location is key. Hotel intended for business traveler on short stay, no amenities, small rooms not clean.” Jul 1, 2005 by

“Great location, tiny rooms, parking was a confusing mess, and cost me $47 CAN.” May 5, 2005 by

“The hotel was well located & the price was right. The staff could have been a bit friendlier.” Mar 21, 2005 by

“After reading some of the reviews elsewhere, we really shouldn't have been surprised. Mar 2, 2005 by

“Although presentable in the reception and lobby area the guest rooms are unreasonably small. Not comfortable for any person of height or size. Closets are nearly useless. Bathrooms are small to the piont where you cannot use with the door closed. Poor water pressure.” Feb 24, 2005 by

“Although the hotel look nice and had an old world architecture, I had to pay $20 extra to upgrade to another room above the eighth floor to get internet access, then had to pay an additional $25 for internet access subscription. They could not find my reservation at first and were the desk clerks were barely understandable with a very thick accent. The room I had was small and I was told that since I upgraded that I actually had a bigger room than the regular rooms so I can only imagine how tiny they were. Overall I was quite disappointed and would not recommend anyone staying here.” Jan 25, 2005 by

“The Strathcona is ideally suited for the short-stay Toronoto traveler. The rooms are well appointed, albeit a bit small, but that is easily overlooked given its location in downtown Toronto near Union Station and Sky Dome. The hotel itself has a restaurant on the main level and access to an adequate workout facility. You feel like you're in the midst of it all, but in a small quaint hotel.” Jan 6, 2005 by

“Very friendly staff. Great location. However, this is by far, the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. I felt so claustrophobic in this hotel! And I won't even start about how small the bathroom was!!!” Hotel Representatives:
