• Was located within a short walk to the TTC Subway. Easy to get to all kinds of theatres, restaurants and attractions. Clean even under renovations.
• Surrounded by one way streets, so had to be careful entering/exiting parking. Extra $30 charge for parking not included was extremely high for self park.

“Hotel was centrally located as indicated and close to the subway. We basically parked our car and used the TTC to get to theatres and restaurants which was very fast. Several areas were undergoing renovations so there were no gym facilities avail. and some halls were missing trim (dusty) but overall public areas were very clean considering. Pool was half inside/outside on second storey with views of the CN tower and skyline on the second storey (above the traffic) which was actually very unique for being downtown. We found out that both the parking and internet access were extra. Parking was $20-30/day which seemed excessive for self park. Also, the building was surrounded by one way streets so you needed to plan in advance how you would enter and exit underground parking. Very much geared to business travelers and not really families with children although the pool was large enough for all to swim in.”

“Was welcomed at reception by extremely friendly employee. I was allowed to switch rooms to one with a king bed rather than one with two twins. Was immediately impressed by the decor of the hotel and lobby and also scenic elevator that overlook the city. Walked into the room and was extremely delighted to see how clean, neat and beautiful it was. Absolutely loved the bed and pillows. The soaps and shampoos were far above expectations being Crabtree and Evelyn. Everything worked in the room (coffee maker, TV, blow dryer, etc.). All in all, it was an exceptional stay. It was absolute luxury.”

• It was a first class hotel and for the price for our stay in a major city I was impressed.
• I left behind a valuable piece of Jewelry and the housekeeper did not turn it into lost and found.

“Very helpful staff. Nice amenities I only enjoyed the bar for a late night cocktail but did check every thing out. The pool and sauna were nice. Both an indoor and outdoor pool which I enjoy.”

• Very convenient to downtown Toronto, nice pool, good amenities.
• We were woken up at 3 am by our neighbors. The double doors between the rooms transmit too much noise.

“Everything was great except the noise transmitted between rooms through the double doors. It's the first time I've ever been woken up at 3 am in any hotel/motel by the laughter of people in the next room. Very surprising for a 4 star hotel.”

“Nice hotel, good location but the hotel is undergoing renovations. There is noise beginning at 8 am, and some facilities were not available. It is fine, but I would like to have known ahead of time. It was difficult to sleep.”

• In addition to the great skyline views, excellent location and the friendly staff, the room was very modern as it was recently updated.
• Our room was adjacent to the elevator shafts so there was constant noise. While the noise level was very low, it was noticeable.

“My stay in Toronto at the Hilton was more than I had expected. The Hotel offered a newly renovated room with a modern decor, several restaurants on site and it was conveniently located.”

• Comfy bed, quiet, nice shower, good location.
• Wanted two double beds but got one king, view had a lot of construction and cranes.

“The hotel was at a great location. We had tickets to the Molson Amphitheatre which was a short cab ride away. There were lots of choices of restaurants a short walk away. Overall comfy and a good night away.”

“The hotel staff upon arrival was very friendly and efficient. My granddaughter and I stayed there in Sept. and had a beautiful room, view, and the washroom was marble and amazing. I bragged about all of this to my partner but was put in a room with no view, older washroom, etc. The parking cost is enormous. If you left the hotel and came back. Double parking cost. I would not stay Downtown in that hotel again.”

• Location was good.
• They put me in a room where construction was going on above and beside me in the adjoining rooms. It started at 745am and went all day. Not good.

“Hotel is a great brand and a good locale but I was angered by the incessant noise and fire alarm drill going off all day starting at just before 8am. I am skeptical about staying in this hotel again.”

• The type of clientele the hotel attracts.

“Very pleasant service, great location, wonderful facilities. On the downside, however, no valet parking and for some reason the clientele the hotel attracts is not worthy of calling it a 4 star. If you had a 3.5 star rating, this would be more applicable for this hotel.”

“Hotel is located in Downtown Toronto and close to shopping, clubs and the lake. Concierge is very helpful and friendly when asking for directions. Front desk was also very helpful and friendly. I also enjoyed the scenic view elevators.”

“If you are looking for an intimate night with you partner, this hotel is likely to keep the two of you glued to each other. It may not have anything to do with your chemistry though, the kinetic energy comes from the deformity and concavity of the mattress.”

• The bedding was not clean.

“The location of the hotel was great. The view from the elevator was incredible. The rooms were mostly clean but old and peeling, with cracked, leaking taps. It was no comparison to the Marriot at Blood and Younger.”

• They provided efficient, effective and friendly service. View of pool and workout facilities were wonderful.
• The carpet in the hallways was a bit run down.

“Overall, my experience was great. I would definitely recommend the hotel. The hotel was central to the heart of downtown Toronto which made it easier to either cab or walk to dinner etc.”

• The room was spectacular, with a view of the Skylon, and the bed and furnishings were perfect.
• The hotel initially sent us to a room which was not made up.

“We had a bed beginning, being sent to a room on the 19th floor that was not cleaned from the previous tenant. We called to the desk from the room phone, and they sent a bellhop to our new floor with the new keys. The hotel was very beautiful and the room was one of the largest in which I had ever stayed. (It was exactly like the first one, so they weren't giving us an upgrade due to their initial mistake, which would have been appropriate, and they also did not offer us a discount on anything, such as parking or food, which also should have been expected when a hotel makes an error.”

• Rooms and restaurants not at 4 Star level.

“Having stayed here previously the room was a real disappointment. The hotel is renovating, if you get a newly renovated room, the rooms are fresh and comfortable. On this stay my first room the carpet was soaking wet and the heat had been turned up to try and dry it. I was moved to another room which had mismatched furniture with cigarette burns - more like a motel than a hotel. The restaurants are tired, particularly the pub and need renovation.”

• The staff was friendly and responsive to any issues/ questions I had.
• They charge a small fortune for internet, which in this day and age should be free.

“Like most high-end hotels, the decor was impressive, the room luxuriously comfy, and the staff knowledgeable and friendly. Also, like most high-end hotels, you are nickel and dimmed for just about anything other than the bed and shower. That having been send, the quality of the hotel easily fulfilled the expectations one would have of a Hilton.”

• The hotel room was shabby, with peeling paint in washroom and stains on carpet.

“Location is great, staff friendly, but my room was not a four star room. Very badly peeling paint on ceiling in washroom, stained carpet, and wallpaper that is separating at the seams.”

“I expected for from this chain. It was a standard room with an old 26" tube TV, with no digital, HDTV or anything modern. As a solo business traveler, I appreciate hotels that have upgraded their in-room entertainment.”

• Stained carpets, mould in bath, paint and wallpaper peeling in room.

“The hotel could be a great property, however the rooms are tired and I had to call front desk to have them put sheets on the bed, there was only a duvet on the mattress.”

• Nice rooms, great breakfast buffet, good location.
• Very expensive! No free computer use unlike much cheaper hotels/motels.

“This is a lovely hotel. My first morning the hotel failed to make the wake-up call I requested, and the manager was very apologetic, upgraded my room on my return, and gave me a free meal which was terrific. I think the service was great and it's in a great location.”

• The bed and pillows were comfortable and lobby was grand.
• The bar in the lobby looked run down. The room was small and required renovations desperately. The bathroom needs serious facial renovations.

“This hotel is nicely situated in the Entertainment District of Toronto. It is convenient to public transportation and within walking distance to a variety of restaurants and theatres, shopping and other activities. The rooms, particularly on the upper floors, have nice views of the city. There is an indoor/outdoor pool and Jacuzzi and exercise facility.”

• Friendly staff, location was great. Subways were close by. I would definitely go there again.
• Pool was being renovated, but there was Sheraton pool, so I guess it made up for it.

• The location was fairly convenient.
• The rooms were older. The room/bathroom needed a fresh coat of paint and new tubs and tiles in the shower (we could see mildew stains on the grout).

“The bathroom was old and needed a fresh coat of paint and a new bathtub and tiles. There wasn't a mirror in the room area. There was only a mirror in the bathroom and on the bathroom door. The scenic elevator is not much of a scene. The location is fairly close to the main areas of interest.”

• The room we had was very noisy.

“This room had two doors connecting to the rooms adjacent to it - and unfortunately at night all I could hear was TV's and loud partying. It's a young crowd in this area, Toronto is a great city, and Queen street is the entertainment hub. I asked the manager to move me (and he did) along with a free breakfast agreeing it was a super noisy room. It's a good hotel, awesome location! I can say the hotel offers spectacular views in all directions, and the interior is very nice. The staff are accommodating at the Hilton, it's definite a great place.”

• The room was a standard hotel room. Public spaces for the hotel were aesthetically pleasing.
• For the duration of my stay, hotel staff (operator, front desk, bell desk) consistently did not answer the phones between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

“If you are looking only for decent accommodation, this is a place to consider. If you are looking for service and a pleasant stay based on accommodating service, this is not the hotel for you. Although the facilities in this location are appropriate for a four star hotel, the service provided at this hotel is so poor that I do not think a four star rating is appropriate. Upon my check-in, the front desk staff was not welcoming or friendly. Between two days at the hotel, I could not contact hotel staff from my hotel room between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. since no one would answer the phone. Further, when I was given my hotel room, one of the cupboards had empty wine bottles, an opened 2 liter bottle of pop and dirty glasses. This cupboard remained uncleaned for the duration of my stay.”

• I liked the service provided by the staff. The staff was quick to answer questions.
• I did not like the fact that the concierge was only available until 5 p.m.

“I think the hotel provided quality service and was very clean. The location of the hotel was very convenient because it was close to many of the attractions in Toronto.”
