• It was in walking distance and the sheets seemed washed.

“Everything was there in name only: the exercise rooms were musty, the equipment was 2nd rate, the halls smelled and my non smoking room (aside from the drapes not closing, the closet door falling, and the bath not functional) smelled like smoke.”

“Clean, cheap all around good value. The air conditioner it turns off while you sleep. Gets a little hot at night. Don't attempt the parking garage if you are a poor driver. It's tight!”

“Overall very pleased with hotel. We had a room on the 22nd floor with a great view of Toronto. The down comforters were wonderfull and the bed was extremly comfortable. Good location to get to any of Toronto's many attractions and great restaurants.”

• The elevators are very slow and not very reliable.

“This is a nice hotel but the elevators could use an overhaul. My 3 children (11, 9 and 4) and I got stuck in the elevator on the way to the pool. Thankfully the doors opened and we were able to hop down, as the car was stuck between floors. We ended up walking down the stairs from the 19th floor to the 3rd floor pool. But throughout our 2 nights at this hotel we waited for the elevator a lot.”

• Location was very good. Toronto is a wonderful city.
• First night--very noisy guests across hall, drinking. Second night: couldn't get into connecting rooms at time designated.

“I was pleasantly surprised after some not so great experiences with Best Western. Although the bed felt like sleeping on a pool table, the accommodations were fine. It is in a great neighborhood with lots of restaurants.”

“This is a great place for a business traveler, not so great for families. I didn't anticipate an additional 46 dollars for parking, (two nights), so that was disappointing. They also put us in a smoking room, although I asked non smoking. Room was tired looking.”

• Everything was clean and the environment felt secure.
• Room temperature way to hot.

“The hotel was good but the have the room set to such a high temperature it got to the point were out side at 72 degrees was more comfortable than inside the room. The air conditioner will just rise the temperature overnight it was horrible. Sleeping and sweating. I am not going back to that hotel. And please let us know the parking was not included! That was not a pleasant surprise! 23 a day!”

• Good location, one block from Yonge St. Free local calls is useful. Good view from window, 19th floor.
• Older, sink in the bathroom, prefer if sink was outside bathroom. Kind of dirty.

“The hotel was old and dingy also hard to locate. There was not and area to unload the luggage unless u were parking in the parking garage which was $25 per day. Breakfast was not included. Luggage trolley did not fit into elevator. Sauna looked scary the exercise room didnt have towels available.”

“This hotel needs serious remodeling and upgrades. The electrical and light fixtures seemed actually dangerous to me. There could be code violations there.”

• Comfortable, 19th floor had a good view, within walking distance of Subway.
• Bathroom was scummy; staff on initial check in was not friendly.

“The hotel was good, not as clean as desired, the bathroom was scummy and the sugar and cream for coffee was not replaced after the package had been opened by the previous guests. Location was good within 5 minute walk from Subway. Staff is moderately friendly and depended on who served you. Check in staff was not friendly while on checking out they were friendly and helpful. I did not use the pool or fitness facilities.”

“This hotel is convenient to the subway with easy access in to the heart of the city. Rooms were kept clean and although some fixtures were outdated, functionality was never an issue. Room was spacious and comfortable. Overall, very pleased with our stay.”

• Room itself met expectations of 2.5 star hotel.
• This hotel is essentially a university residence, complete with the elevator spills and smoke.

“Rooms are nice, but service was slow from front desk and two different elevators had two different beverages spilled in them. Not the fault of the hotel on that one, but guests should understand that (seemingly) large portions of this hotel are used as dorm rooms for Ryerson.”

• Slow service at the front desk, but helpful when they arrived.

“I've stayed here with seminars many times. It is very comfortable, always clean and is considerably less expensive than anything else around. Biggest complaint is that with a large group (i.e. a class), the elevators are terribly slow, a small annoyance when traveling with family.”

• Great location/outside of midtown, spotlessly clean rooms, kitchenette.
• Parking fees excessive for a small garage, attempts to update interior still left hotel badly dated.

“The room and bathroom was clean and the stay generally very pleasant. The non-smoking room clearly had been a smoking room in the past, which was obnoxious. The room was large, the views decent, and the kitchenette was useful as well. The sheets and pillows were comfortable but the mattress was old and lumpy.”

• Hotel staff was rude when I arrived.

“Overall, I was satisfied with my stay. I was very disappointed to find out that when I arrived did not receive the smoking room which I booked online. Also, when the hotel attendant was looking this up she was very rude and inconsiderate. The room was nice and from where we were going the location of the hotel was convenient. I have another concert in March and was going to stay there again but now I am thinking of looking into other hotels that can accommodate what I need and has a nicer staff.”

• The beds were comfortable, room space was adequate, and lobby was nice and comfortable. Water pressure in bathroom was great.
• Staff was not overly helpful. Booked 2 smoking suites, received 2 non-smoking, staff would not re-arrange. Bathroom tubs had rust remnants.

“The hotel was in a suitable location, easy access to local restaurants, stores etc. Evening staff was not very professional. Upon arrival at the front desk, both staff was braiding a little girl's hair. One looked as if I was bothering her by checking in. While one was very courteous, the other who was preparing my room keys simply threw them on the desk in front of me. Both Bath tubs had rust stains at the bottom, not visually appealing. However, the towels were clean, bed comfortable, room spacious enough. The morning staff was a lot more friendly and serviceable. Would return only if I had no where else to go and it was last minute.”

• Rooms were basic at best with an unfriendly staff.

“The price was good for multiple rooms but the hotel was basic with a staff to match. The lower rooms are apartments that caused some interesting people in the elevators along with a strong smell of pot. The location was close to the Eton Center, and trolley. I've stayed in almost every hotel in downtown Toronto and other than the courtyard this is the last hotel I would stay in.”

• Close to Younge street and all public transportation.
• The parking garage ($23/night) could make you dizzy. Don't try with an SUV.

“The primrose is in a great location to get you just about anywhere you want to go in Toronto, but the neighborhood directly isn't the best. Some pretty ladies hanging out in front of the hotel, but they are harmless and I never once felt unsafe. Rooms are comfortable with nice linens. The pool is outdoors, which is nice in the heat of the summer. Saunas and work out facilities are available year round. Security is good, parking is um, interesting. They have on site underground parking ($23/night yikes) and it is a very secure structure, but don't try it with an SUV. You wind down, down, down into this garage making many sharp turns with little room for error. Free in and out privileges, but hey, it's Toronto, walk or take public transportation. Much nicer than paying parking fees all around town. Good value for the money. Friendly staff.”

• It is centrally located and easy to get to. Staff is very helpful.
• They went up on the rate after I decided to extend my stay thru the weekend.

“This hotel is great location wise. The only problem I had was the room they gave me was right by the elevators. I asked to be moved because of the constant noise from the elevator traffic and they placed me next to the stairwell which was just as noisy.”

• Jarvis St. which abuts the hotel, lives up to its reputation.

“The hotel is much closer to a 3 star than a 2.5 star hotel. The restaurant looked somewhat upscale. The location isn't the best in downtown Toronto, unless you plan on doing heavy shopping up on Bloor. For most downtown attractions, it is close enough as long as you are willing to use the city's excellent public transit. The rooms aren't brand new, but are well kept; the beds and linens were great. The rooms were very spacious; this is still a very nice hotel that is just a notch below Torontos best hotels (like the Westin harbor castle).”

• The location was excellent for downtown requirements.
• The hookers walking by late at night and the sad state of the lobby and elevators.

“The outside appearance of the hotel is quite dingy and dirty the lobby does not have a very warm or welcoming tone, the elevators are in definite need of sprucing up, it all feels kind of dilapidated. The room was okay again, needs a bit of a boost (but then that would make it more expensive so.) The bed was excellent and that made it all okay. Frankly for the money that I was paying I shouldn't complain.”
