• Beds were very comfortable which is a definite plus for any traveler.
• When you first walk in through the main doors, there was a weird odor but only in that spot.

“The hotel was more then what my girlfriend and I had expected for the price. The bed was very comfortable and the room in general was spacious and clean. I could not hear anything from the neighboring rooms or hallways which also is a plus. The 1 pm check out time is great. Room service is very expensive so I would suggest not to eat there if this is a leisure trip. For a business customer you might be able to write the expenses off (although my company would never allow to spend that much for dinner). That said, it is an upscale hotel that I would go back to time and time again.”

• Fantastic - there is nothing negative to say about the hotel itself.
• Unless you use valet - parking is a bit of a hassle.

“This place was pretty nice. Good location near every thing. People there were nice. Only thing that was terrible was the prices they charged for the food in the room and we couldn't use the fridge. Thought we might get charged.”

“Despite it's size, this hotel has managed to personalize service and to give to guests the kind of warmth, attention and excellence usually found in smaller charming establishments. The bed and bathroom are exceptional in comfort, size and cleanliness. It was a pleasure to stay here.”

• Beautiful river view.
• Inadequate parking area for check-in or drop-off/pick-up. Never any available space.

“Nice hotel, although I prefer the Sherbrooke area. We had to stay in a room that had previously been a smoking room and that was unpleasant, especially as the windows did not open. However, the room was large and nicely furnished, with very comfortable bed. Also, the room climate control worked very well and was easy to use. However, wallpaper was peeling in a couple of places the bathroom, showing black mold, which is definitely not what I expect of a 4-star hotel!”

• Outside the window there was a building under construction.

• I like the location. Nice for it to be in old Montreal but also close to the downtown core.
• Wait at the reception for check in.

• Its proximity to Old Montreal - I'm from Montreal and this location is perfectly located as a central point to everything!
• Nothing to tell - it was fabulous!

“Being from the suburbs of Montreal, this was a great experience being a tourist in my own town. This is a very nice hotel and located in an extremely convenient spot. It's beautiful, inside and out. Old Montreal is a block away and shopping and events are just a few blocks in any direction.”

“Great hotel close to everything- they were doing construction next door- but couldn't hear a thing from room. Beautiful room - lovely sitting area in the room. Would go to this and recommend it to friends.”

• Parking is expensive.

“Everything was nice but I had one problem with parking. Either park on the street on my own; park at the hotel but wouldn't move the car for the whole day and pay 19 dollars a night or use the valet parking and pay 27 dollars a night. Not limit it to the number of adults/children.”

• The bed was so comfortable, beautiful view of the city, very clean.
• We had to pay for internet service and parking. Parking was 9 floors down and there was lots of space on other floors. Should not have cost $19 a day.

• We enjoyed the bedding in the room the most; it was very comfortable and provided for an excellent rest between sights seeing.
• Construction next door that we weren't aware of.

• The valet service.
• Paying for parking, all hotels should offer quest free parking, this was the first time I had this experience at a hotel.

“I think this hotel is excellent as my survey shows. I ended up taking the valet service so I could have the luxury of leaving the hot with my car.”

• Comfortable bed, clean and spacious washroom.
• Swimming pool did not have a shallow end for kids.

“Good location - close to Subway station, Vieux Montreal and Chinatown. Extremely clean, odor-free, climate control system works, and good toiletries provided. But then again, it's the intercontinental - we shouldn't expect anything less.”

• The courtesy of the personal when we asked for information's. They even try to help us the best. They can even rent us free umbrella because it was raining.
• Only the information's about having deluxe beds. They said yes at 19:30 and they change their mind when we arrived around 23:00.

“Many services. Property, large space in the lobby and in the room. All guest were respectful of tranquility even if the had 3 weddings during the weekend. If we go back in Montreal, we would like to go again at this hotel. We were very happy and in security ( car also ).”

• Loved the bed & linens-AWESOME! The bathroom was great too and did I mention the bed?
• Water bottle found under bed from previous guests - not detected by cleaning staff.

“No complaints other as mentioned above that we found a water bottle under the bed from the previous guests that was not detected by cleaning staff and that certainly did not affect our stay! Other than that - everything was superb. Loved the super comfy bed and linens. Slept great all 3 nights!”

• Good location. Central to much of city.
• Service is not 4+ star.

“When I arrived, there was no bellman thus had to go up 2 floors to get assistance. The room had not been properly cleaned (used pop bottle, glasses, soap, etc) to which the front desk seemed neither surprised nor concerned. In short, in it's day I'm sure it was a top-notch hotel, but it has gone downhill, living on its name.”

• The staff was as friendly and helpful as any I have ever stayed in.
• Charges for wireless internet are unreasonable.

“I was traveling with my family and friends to Montreal. We arrived from Toronto (by car) and had no problems finding the hotel. The hotel was nicely located, close to shops, subways. The check in was also fast. Staff was really friendly and tried to accommodate us. We were granted 1 room with a King bed and 2 with 2 queen beds at no extra cost. One room was in the smoking area. But for the rate we got the rooms at we didn't complain. The hotel rooms were of good size as the bathroom. My family and friends had breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant.”

• Bathroom excellent, room - satisfactory, service - very good.

“Almost made me feel like I was a poor relative invited to an expensive party that I did not have the right to attend. Other than that, the room was pretty decent - quite spacious, with excellent view, comfortable bed - except the TV that would not move in any direction for the lack of a stand. The bathroom was really excellent and made it up for the minor deficiencies of the room.”

• Separate elevator for going to ground levels.

“The hotel location was good. We were given the worst possible room. I am never going to come ever again. About the hotel, you have to take separate elevator to go to the ground level from lobby and for that you have to call a hotel staff and they have to escort you in the elevator! Bad design!”

• Fantastic concierge and staff.
• Odd elevator sound in room, not enough rooms with king-size beds.

“When we first stayed in this hotel two years ago, the staff was hit or miss -- some helpful, others seemed like they had better things to do. On this trip the staff, especially the concierge, was uniformly helpful and attentive without being obsequious or coy.”

• Did not want to accommodate in double beds even though it was requested twice.

“The hotel was clean and in a very good location. The only problem that I encountered was that I had requested two beds. I called another day to make sure it was available, and the same day before we got to the hotel. When we got there, only 1 bed was given and the front desk person told me they couldn't do anything about it. When I showed them my phone with the calls I made, they mysteriously had a room with two beds. Very aggravating.”

“For the price, this hotel is an excellent choice. Very centrally located, with good quality accommodations make the hotel a good choice. The hotel is geared to business travelers, but for us, traveling with an infant, it was very accommodating and easy to enjoy.”

• The 12 level underground parking and long route to reception-hard with luggage.

• Understated elegance, great bed and bedding.
• Green message, not green in practice.

“An elegant hotel, situated right between the old historic part of Montreal and the shopping centre of the city. Within easy walking distance of many attractions and great eating. On the Metro, so the rest of Montreal was also very accessible. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a marble shower and fluffy bathrobes. The minibar and snack cupboard were well-stocked and included wine glasses and a corkscrew.”

• Room smelled, bathroom fan didn't work, heater/cooler barely worked, dining room chair at desk.

“The hotel was very nice in appearance, hard to figure out where to park and initially find the parking garage, once I parked and back on ground level it took a long time tying to find the hotel (even after being their a week) not well signed, had dining room style chair at the desk, mini-bar & internet was about double in price to other mini-bars & connections, the bed and choice of pillows was good, the room was very roomy.”

• Expensive internet connection, the gym is a little under quipped.

“This is a very nice hotel on the edge of downtown. If you are planning on spending time in old Montreal this is great. The hotel is a fair walk from the rest of downtown. We did not dine in the hotel but looked at the menus and they looked good. The rooms are well kept, the hotel was quiet and the staff was helpful. I would recommend it. I visit Montreal a half dozen times a year and this hotel is pretty on par with others in it's class.”
