“This is a nice business hotel in the Western part of Vienna. Although it is not centrally located in the city, the hotel is nicely decorated with good amenities.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Sara from Evansville, IN
“Very conveniently located near Metro station and Schonbrun. The staff at the Renaissance Vienna were extremely helpful with directions and various requests for information and assistance. Pet friendly hotel!” May 7, 2008 by
Linda from Potomac, MD
“We found the front desk staff to be extremely nice and helpful. Our room was lovely although there were no drawers to put clothes in, so that may be somewhat problematic if you are staying for more than several days. The bed was very comfortable and we heard very little hallway noise. Overall, we thought, we would be very happy to stay in the hotel again.” Apr 27, 2008 by
Elisabeth from Richards Landing, ON CA
“It is right at a subway station, a breeze to get anywhere. Complementary coffee and juice in the lobby between 6am and 9am. It is not yet a nonsmoking hotel, and the pool is to die for. The rooms are nice, too, very quiet.” Apr 25, 2008 by
Pat from Chicago, IL
“Near public transportation, it is very easy to get anywhere in the Vienna area from the hotel. The room was large and had everything I needed. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The hotel prices for internet and food are high but this is expected for a 4 star hotel. There is an independent internet cafe (without cafe) across the street.” Mar 20, 2008 by
Lan from Rockville, MD
“Overall, a very pleasant experience, 8.5 out of 10. Good value, great staff, and clean room. Double beds were quite small. Location is right off U-bahn (Meidling stop), but may take a couple train transfers, about 15 min. ride from the Ringstrasse. Be sure to call the hotel & ask for train directions. But good thing is, it's 1 stop away from the must-see Schonbrunn Palace!” Jan 31, 2008 by
Anne M. from Blaine, WA
“The location was excellent - kitty corner to the exit for Meidling U-Bahn station. The room was far too warm although the bed was very comfortable. The staff implied that breakfast was included but it was not at 22 Euros each. They asked if we had had breakfast both days of our stay when we had only ended up staying at the hotel one of two nights that we had booked. We had gone to some trouble to inform them that we would be checking in only for the second of the two nights.” Oct 29, 2007 by
Mary from Phoenix, AZ
“We would stay again. Rated perfect as a three star facility.” Sep 1, 2007 by
John from Silver Spring, MD
“Hotel's location is not in center, but its right across the street from the metro, which is very convenient to go anywhere in town. Our room was not fancy but was clean, and the bed was excellent. I wouldn't mind to stay there again.” Aug 27, 2007 by
Vanessa from Bisbee, AZ
“Cozy and convenient.” Jul 26, 2007 by
Chris from Cincinnati, OH
“After staying in pensions in Prague and Brno, this hotel was a breath of fresh air. Very nice, clean, comfortable rooms with very nice beds. Location was not optimal for sightseeing (except for Schonbrun Palace) but once you figure out how easy the Vienna subway system is. It's just fine.” Jul 17, 2007 by
Regan from Galveston, TX
“Beautiful hotel right on the train line with helpful staff, free coffee, and gorgeous pool. Great experience. Multilingual staff.” Jul 12, 2007 by
Cathy from Washington, DC
“This hotel was in a good location for us because we have traveled in Vienna several times and wanted to be outside the tourist center. It was convenient but away from the center. Comfortable beds, great bed linens and pillows. Front desk staff was helpful even when telling us they couldn't accommodate our request for a non-smoking room. Unlike many hotels that offer (but do not follow through) to re-use towels to help the environment, this hotel followed our request.” Jun 1, 2007 by
Strad from Rowland Heights, CA
“Close to subway. Comfortable room. Great staff.” Jun 1, 2007 by
Clark from Apo, AL
“Three star hotel with four star prices.” Apr 20, 2007 by
Samuel from Victoria, BC CA
“Nice hotel, good friendly staff and easy to get in and around.” Apr 12, 2007 by
Strad from Rowland Heights, CA
“For the price that we paid, it was a great.” Nov 1, 2006 by
Francis from Moorestown, NJ
“This hotel was very difficult to get to due to the one way streets and very narrow roads. It did not have much space to park the car temporarily during the registration period. Front desk one staff was rude and not very helpful so as the restaurant personnel.” Oct 30, 2006 by
V from Fresno, CA
“The hotel had comfortable beds and was located near a convenient metro line, one stop away from Schonbrunn Palace, three or four from the Opera House. The hotel's overall look is very dated, and some furnishings/trim look a bit aged as well. The breakfast was decent, but ludicrously overpriced at 20 Euros per person. While the beds were comfortable, all of the pillows, comforters, etc. Were down/feather. This may be a plus for some people, but made me so allergic I had a hard time getting any sleep each of the nights we were there. The staff was friendly and kindly accommodated the requests we made. We had a non-smoking room, but the bathroom smelled strongly of smoke and the whole room smelled like smoke if we turned on the heating/cooling system. Finally, the walls were a bit thin, so we could hear others talking on occasion. It was not quite up to the level of the Renaissance hotels Iżve stayed in the US, but was acceptable given that the rate was relatively cheap as far as hotels in Vienna go.” Oct 18, 2006 by
Mike “A pretty good hotel. Location is very good too. Even though it is outside the ring, it is about 1 minute from a Metro Station, and it takes about 8 minutes to get to the center. Metro in Vienna is extremely efficient so everything is close.” Sep 6, 2006 by
Peter from Los Angeles, CA
“Staff was wonderful and the room was comfortable and well appointed.” Aug 28, 2006 by
Chris from Seattle, WA
“Overall this hotel was very comfortable with a friendly staff. The location was about 10 minutes away from the center by metro, but the metro station is right in front of the hotel so it's a non-issue. My only problem with my stay there was that my room was located on the side facing the highway and as a result it was somewhat noisy during the evening (this is the only reason why I gave it a 7 for questions 5 and 6, otherwise it would have been a 9). Other than that the room was very spacious as well as clean. I would recommend this hotel but if you want a quiet stay make sure your room is on the other side of the hotel.” Aug 3, 2006 by
Exbroccoli from Sandvika Norway, AK
“The location isn't the best - however it's close to the subway which takes 15 minutes to the city center. The room was OK, but for the price we paid, it was excellent value for money. The breakfast was good, the parking facilities adequate but expensive (' 17,-).Next time, I think I'll prefer a hotel in the city center, though...” Jul 18, 2006 by
Jonathan from New Caney, TX
“Overall not bad, it met the expectations, however I do not think it is a five-star hotel. It is packed with many tourist. The breakfast is not very good for the price.” Jul 18, 2006 by
Curtis from Carlsbad, CA
“This hotel was an excellent choice for us. the hotel was maintained spotless and the staff was very courteous. the a/c was a welcome relief after staying at several other hotels in Europe that didn't have a/c.” Jul 17, 2006 by
Jose from Panama, WY
“The hotel is across the street from an S-Bahn station, and has nice facilities. The only issue was that during our stay the air conditioning system did not work in the room we stayed at, and there was an overall damp smell to the place.” Jul 5, 2006 by
Robden from Mesa, AZ
“We had trouble sleeping due to the traffic.” Jul 3, 2006 by
Joan “It looks as if this hotel is more catered to tourist groups. For the two nights we were there, we have seen big tour buses pulling in and out of the driveway. I wouldn't consider this a four stars hotel. It gives me a comfort inn feel (slightly better). If going to Vienna is to enjoy the romantic part of the city, I wouldn't stay here.” Jun 29, 2006 by
Rick from Chicago, IL
“A good imitation of higher end American hotels. The transition from a classic European hotel to some sort of Euro-American combination is obvious. Paying full rate for this hotel would not be worth it. Getting a superb nightly rate will only help the final a little, as add-on charges are rampant.” Jun 21, 2006 by
Ted from Seal Beach, CA
“A rather bland exterior, but inside it is much better. It is a nice hotel, no real complaints, but nothing special either. Staff was helpful. Lots of pillows on the bed and where nice, and the swimming pool was interesting. An almost completely unremarkable hotel, and for the price breakfast and use of the fitness room should have been included.” Jun 7, 2006 by
Gabriel from Long Beach, NY
“Clean, comfortable, professionally run hotel. Just across the street from nearest U-bahn station, but not close enough to the center to walk - especially after a long day of activity.” Jun 4, 2006 by
Jim from Tucson, AZ
“This is a typical Renaissance chain hotel. It is new and nicely appointed. It did lack a coffee maker which is usually in most hotels of this caliber. A lot of bus tour groups stay there. It was a good value, but requires the traveler to be comfortable with public transit.” May 25, 2006 by
Margaret from Bethesda, MD
“The hotel was clean, very well maintained and presented an atmosphere that would be expected in Fanta Fe.” Apr 11, 2006 by
Tinny from Hercules, CA
“Great location, close to the underground and very walk able distance to the Schonbrunn palace.” Jan 5, 2006 by
Ajay from Joliet, IL
“The prices for food and services airport transportation, garage parking are higher than comparable hotel Mercury. I will avoid any hotel whose management thinks that I am there for their leisure not mine.” Nov 18, 2005 by
Beth from Natick, MA
“The hotel was a short walk from the subway, which was very convenient. This made the location desirable because we could get to the center (Karlsplatz) in about 10 minutes. The rooms were clean and the lobby was pretty. The front desk staff was always helpful with questions and suggestions.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Nov 5, 2005 by

“Spacious room, very comfortable bed and nice lobby with good facilities. Easy to get to the subway. However there is no free e-mail service, and there is a charge for the use of sauna (but not indicated in the hotel information booklet).” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.Nov 1, 2005 by

“Our hotel stay was very pleasant and met all our expectations. I would gladly stay here again if I return to Vienna.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Oct 8, 2005 by

“Rooms are pleasant though slightly small and just a little dated. The neighborhood is fine without a lot of traffic noise.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Oct 8, 2005 by
John from Lincoln, RI
“Generally, a well-run, clean and friendly hotel. I would recommend it to others, as I had no major issues with the place. Again, my only real problem was with the health club. They allow smoking in this area, which is an obvious contradiction to the whole health concept. The highly cramped workout room is also jam packed with hopelessly out of date equipment.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Oct 3, 2005 by
Mike A. from Malden, MA
“The Renaissance Wien Hotel is a beautiful hotel located outside the city center of Vienna Wienm, but is conveniently on one of the city's very efficient U-bahn subway lines and is only 4 stops from the city center. It is only one stop away from the fabulous Schonbrunn Palace. The rooms were tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The restaurant however was overpriced. I would highly recommend this hotel.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Sep 29, 2005 by
Andrew from Portland, OR
“The Renaissance Wien, a nice hotel located on the edge of a pleasant residential neighborhood, isn't close to the ring in Vienna, but central Vienna is easily accessed by U-bahn. The hotel is just across the street from the U-bahn stop and the ride to the center is less than ten minutes.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 29, 2005 by
David from Jasper, GA
“Exceptionally helpful staff throughout hotel. Checking in and out was a breeze. Close to an underground and bus stop for easy access to the center of Vienna. Not many restaurants nearby but one friendly pub with tasty local cuisine right across the street. We would definitely stay at the Renaissance Wien again.” Jun 22, 2005 by
Ray from Irvine, CA
“This a three star hotel at best both in terms of quality and location. The staff are pretty good but it seemed under staff most of the times. It is popular with big tourist groups and there is not enough staff to support the big groups!Would not go back to it!” Jun 12, 2005 by
Sharon from Ingram, TX
“This hotel was a breath of fresh air after having spent one night previously in another hotel which was recommended to us by the Tourist Information employee. It was very convenient to the metro as well.” May 30, 2005 by
Daryl from Bakersfield, CA
“While located some distance from downtown Vienna, only 10 minute walk to Shonenbrun Palace. Service in restaurant was excellent as was the fare. Houskeeping staff was excellent in their efforts, even providing iron and board within 3 minutes of request at midnight.” Nov 30, 2004 by
Greg B. from Florence “Renaissance Wein Hotel is a standard Marriott Business Hotel located near but not in the historic district. I found the hotel to be well operated, very clean and friendly in every way.” Oct 5, 2004 by
William P. from Alexandria, VA “5-star rating seems very excessive. Nothing special about the room - clean, but nothing special decor-wise. No 5-star amenities such as nightly turn down, bathrobes, etc. We just came from a 5-star Hilton in Budapest - a world of difference between these two hotels.” Oct 2, 2004 by
Sudhakar E. from Farmington Hills, MI “There was only a small bar with sandwiches in the fridge available for dinner.”
