“Great for business as for fun.” Oct 21, 2009 by
from Flushing,NY
“In general, its a beautiful hotel that's smoke free and have a casino. There were no other adult activities at night except for hanging out at the bar or going to other hotels.” Sep 9, 2009 by
David from Portland,OR
“Very nice resort hotel with great staff. Pool area fabulous and right next to the beach.” Sep 3, 2009 by

“I think its over rated and the staff is so rude.” Aug 31, 2009 by
Jessica from Miami,FL “The hotel was very nice and I would absolutely stay there again.” Aug 24, 2009 by
Luis from Melrose Park,IL
“Upon checking in I upgraded to a suite. The suite was great and had all the amenities anyone required.Staff was friendly and helpful and had information on things to do and see.It was walking distance to stores, pharmacies, clubs, and restaurants. The pool although standard, was put to good use.For the price it was a bargain.” Jul 27, 2009 by
Gideon from Schiedam,Netherlands
“A great hotel at a top-location. Staff is very friendly and the amenities are good. Really a wonderful pool and it's right at the beach. We had a perfect two week-stay if it wasn't for the money stolen from our hotel room. Security service didn't provide much (willingness to) help.” Jun 4, 2009 by
Sara from Onset,MA
“This was a luxury hotel that exceeded my expectations! Would definitely stay there again.” May 26, 2009 by
Akim from Miami,FL
“The hotel is outdated. It looks like something out of the seventies. The pool is small and the beach is nothing great. The staff was very friendly and helpful but, you can say that about everyone on the entire island.” May 25, 2009 by
Charles from Avondale Est.,GA
“The hotel was beautifully landscaped and the lobby area was nice. Staff was pleasant on check in and out. Pool area was huge and very nice. Gym was well equipped and open 24/7. Room was large with a nice king sized bed with plush top and many pillows. Room also had a safe and mini fridge. Bathroom was large with a big walk in shower that would accommodate 2 or more! My friends and I were very pleased with the hotel. It's on a lovely beach but very close to the airport but there was no noise in the room.” May 21, 2009 by
Michelle from Asheville,NC
“I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The facilities were beautiful. The beach location was beautiful and Feb 12, 2009 by

“rooms are average at best. bee careful not to stain your sheets because the staff eill only turn them over and change them. don't get roped into the breakfast buffet - who wants to pay $30 for eggs? We lost a camera in a taxi. the other drivers suggested having hotel management look at security tapes t identify the cab. they put it off until we left.” Jan 29, 2009 by
victoria from New York,NY
“Fantastic! I couldn't have been happier! Beautiful and elegant hotel on the beach. You don't need to leave the hotel for enjoyment but if you do there's plenty to do within walking distance. The other great thing is only 10 from the Airport. I am a seasoned world traveler and I would definitely go back.” Nov 25, 2008 by
Arika from Jonesboro
“I love this place. My first time in Puerto Rico. The hotel is a lazy person's paradise. All I did was eat out in the city, eat in my room, and eat on the beach. Not to say that this is a boring place, they had a 24 hour gym, 24 hour pool and a casino that was open until 4AM. They had family movie night every evening at 5PM. The view from the room was spectacular. The Atlantic Ocean was a beautiful blue. However, you could not enter the beach at night through the back gate, for safety reasons. I loved the idea of being waited on hand and foot. You did not have to leave the beach to go eat. Someone was walking around taking your order for food and beverage. It was fantastic. The staff was wonderful, bilingual, and very helpful. There was this one concierge that was totally useless. I stayed for seven days and 6 nights. I shall be returning very soon. The food is expensive in Puerto Rico.” Nov 7, 2008 by
“The hotel is very clean and the employees are wonderful. The rooms are fine. The internet (wireless) did not work for 70% of the time. The refrigerator did not work in the room and the elevator had problems and the thermostat in the room had a mind of its own. The room service (food) was not very good at all. The pool is pretty and right on the beach.” Nov 1, 2008 by
Sandy
“I truly enjoyed my stay at this particular hotel. The whole staff is probably the nicest that I have ever dealt with. They did anything possible to make our stay a pleasant one. I would definitely stay there again.” Oct 19, 2008 by
YAD
“The hotel did not meet my expectations for a resort. But overall it was ok.” Oct 13, 2008 by
Megan from West Babylon, NY
“This hotel was so wonderful! The hotel was gorgeous, the staff was amazing- and the view was breath-taking! Try this hotel it is amazing! And get ocean view.” Oct 9, 2008 by

“Pool was awesome access to the beach was good security was nice too. Staff was friendly the hotel is a little outdated they may need to upgrade.” Sep 14, 2008 by
Nick from Miami Beach, FL
“The staff here was very rude and not willing to assist guests. The rooms are old and not refurbished. The pool area is fantastic. But the blue cushions on the chaise lounges were filthy with bird waste and mildew. Housekeeping staff was not coordinated. Turndown service was a joke. This hotel barely makes the 4 star rating. On the positive side. The food at breakfast buffet at Alfredos is excellent and the hotel is in a great location. Ask for a room facing the water. Those have plasma TV's and are refurbished.” Sep 10, 2008 by
Ralph from Caguas, PR
“The hotel is located at Isla Verde, Carolina, Puerto Rico. To arrive you take Ave. Isla Verde and you will see a big building with the name Intercontinental. To enter the hotel, it is a little confusing, as besides there are other entrances to other hotels. Once in the driveway, the fountains and the landscape are excellent. Once you get out of your car, the hospitality starts. The employees are very courteous. Inside the hotel there is a 24 hour security guard guarding the lobby. Check in was fast and smooth. The employee was also very courteous. We enjoyed the pool area and the beaches nearby. During our stay, we had dinner at 2 of the restaurants of the hotel - Alfredo and Momoyama. Alfredo is an Italian restaurant with excellent food. The overall experience was excellent, with exception that the food was a little salty. Momoyama is a Japanese restaurant. The food was good, but the soy sauce attacked me afterwards, as I was thirsty all night. The casino was nice and on Friday it was packed, while on Saturday there were available lots. They have a lounge at the lobby and had live music. The ambiance was nice, but the quality of the music was terrible. It was a nightmare. The check out was also smooth. I highly recommend the Intercontinental.” Aug 3, 2008 by
Natalie from Brooklyn, NY
“The hotel experience was great except the lady who cleaned our room was untidy. She never cleaned our room properly left used cups, glasses, rags etc. in the room, the entire time we spent.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Susan from Rialto, CA
“Beautiful hotel, right on the beach with a beautiful pool area and 3 restaurants. No book in the room to tell you about it, so you just have to search. The hour long power outage was a hassle and a downer. The $16 for a taxi to the airport which is about 3 miles from there was a big disappointment. When the cabbies hear you're going there, or pick you up from there, they charge you accordingly. Great lobby, nice little casino, very nice bell hops and concierges.” Jun 7, 2008 by
Junfeng from Philadelphia, PA
“On the whole, this meets my expectation for a seaside resort.” May 6, 2008 by
Maika from Santa Fe, NM
“At check-in, we were upgraded (I think the hotel was full). Our room was great, and included a nice buffet breakfast. It was a short overnight on the way to the Virgin Islands, but most enjoyable!” May 5, 2008 by
Stella from Columbia, MD
“Worth every penny. Woke up every morning to an amazing view. Balconies were small; standing room only. Rooms were spotlessly clean. Pool was nice. Security kept out non guests from using the pool. Beach had too much sea wood to swim in it comfortably. Beach chairs were free, but umbrellas cost 10 bucks. Cafe on the beach was delicious. Alfredo's was also quite good.” May 2, 2008 by
Jeanie from Sun City West, AZ
“We were extremely pleased with our king room. It was in fact a king sized bed with wonderful bedding and linens. The sitting area was a good size with desk, love seat sofa, chair and coffee table. The furnishings were clean and looked new. The bed and sofa faced a large window overlooking the city lights. We could watch the planes landing, but were not bothered by the noise at night. This is a great property right on the beach that we would definitely recommend to others and would stay at again when in San Juan. Loved it!” Apr 29, 2008 by
Ryan from Roanoke, VA
“I was amazed at how beautiful this resort is. The pools and hot tubs in the back of resort are amazing with water falls and the Splash Bar is to die for nothing like basking in the sun, drinking a Bacardi bomb, drink while laying in the pool. Want a drink just float on up to the bar. Staff even waited on me while laying on private beach. Got a massage at the spa that was amazing. Room was super clean and bed had tons of pillows and a great view of ocean. The Concierge at the hotel is super friendly and becomes your friend during your stay and knows every where to go and how to get there and what is fun and not super helpful. Won $400.00 in the casino and right next door is a great night club. Get Sushi at the Japanese restaurant onsite the food is top notch. Will definitely stay again. A+. I say 5 STARS!” Apr 27, 2008 by
Norton from Pittsford, NY
“Location great, grounds great, ocean view room small. Housekeeping was sketchy, room next to us during day had assortment of children bouncing off the walls, literally and singing at top of lungs, very strange as we never heard adults and luckily never heard them at night? Who had this room, elevator maintenance in middle of day took out two of three elevators sometimes. Long waits for elevator. Staff lovely but not able to fix things in a timely manner. Not a 4 star in my book, but of course this is always subjective to the travelers expectations and perhaps mine were just too high.” Apr 16, 2008 by
Maggie from Coatesville, Pa
“Beautiful hotel, grounds, and beach. This is my second stay here and I enjoyed everything about it. I was here for 2 weeks. Yes, it is expensive. It is a resort hotel so I expect as much. The prices and taxes and fees apply to all hotels in tourist sections of Puerto Rico, especially beachfront, so had no surprises. I found lots of very inexpensive restaurants within walking distance. Mi Casitas is across the street and serves Puerto Rican and American foods. Delicious! Highly recommend this hotel. There is a button on the phone to request anything you want, no need to go to store and buy soap!” Apr 10, 2008 by
Michelene from State College, PA
“Great location, nice beach, well kept grounds and very comfortable beds. The restaurants are extremely overpriced as are most things at this hotel. They charge hidden fees at the end of stay. Eleven percent above and beyond the taxes already paid for a total of 22% tax, beware.” Apr 7, 2008 by
Bruna from Lombard, IL
“The Intercontinental was wonderful. The pool is fantastic. The staff couldn't be more accommodating to our needs, storing bags, late check-out, and two double beds. Would love to stay there again and will recommend to everyone.” Apr 7, 2008 by
Linda from Sterling, VA
“It was comfortable and clean. The pool and beach were gorgeous and well maintained. The security was tight, which is good in my opinion. You get a wrist band to use the pool, beach and come and go which keeps the locals out of the area.” Apr 3, 2008 by
Amy from Staten Island, NY
“This Hotel was fine but don't be fooled by how they describe the location, felt like NY in Puerto Rico.” Apr 1, 2008 by
Joe from Highlands Ranch, CO
“Hotel was what I expected. Great location, well maintained. Staff was excellent. Facilities first class.” Mar 13, 2008 by
Steve from Perrysburg, OH
“We literally got a night at a top resort for the price of a 2-star hotel. The beachfront property was beautifully landscaped with obvious attention to detail and luxury. The interior was well-appointed and very clean. The staff was helpful and courteous. Being near the airport, there was lots of airplane noise; but, the beauty and luxury of this resort did well to make up for it (airport noise was not an issue in our room)! We only stayed one night here; however, we agreed we'd would be happy to return again for an extended stay!” Mar 2, 2008 by
Rick from Salem, NY
“It's a very nice resort with a casino, several restaurants. Our dinner at Alfrdo was very good, if expensive. It's close to the airport, but plane noise is not a problem. Free Wifi is also a bonus. The neighborhood seems fine, but not as up upscale as the Condado. Nonetheless, we did walk to local restaurants for some lunches and/or dinners.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Jack from Wall, NJ
“Would like access to the internet via high speed (not wireless) and coffee.” Feb 18, 2008 by
Nitana from Santa Barbara, CA
“This hotel is beautiful and our room was small but nice with a great view. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The only areas that were lacking were the food at the bar, the nightly entertainment and getting oriented with the hotel facilities. We enjoyed our stay.” Jan 21, 2008 by
Nanette from Tallahassee, FL
“Wonderful hotel from its island living feel to its accommodating staff. The restaurant was delicious, the pool was inviting, and the architecture was exquisite. Being right on the ocean made for a memorable experience. The complimentary internet was a nice value. Our stay here was wonderful and we would not change a thing!” Jan 17, 2008 by
Laura from Hillsborough, NJ
“Beautiful and convenient pool area and beach. Restaurant and bar right on the beach. Beach chairs included. Security watching the area. Restaurants charging high prices with no other options for families or people there for a longer stay.” Dec 9, 2007 by
Rich from Portland, OR
“However, I found that I was on the construction/remodeling floor or something. The odor was really bad and I had to leave the outside sliding class door open to survive. There was either new carpet just put in or the fresh paint. Also, the fridge wasn't plugged in. When I tried to plug it in, I found that you could not plug in the TV and the fridge at the same time. Frustrating!” Nov 4, 2007 by
Harold from Clermont, FL
“Everything went well. But for a 4 diamond hotel they still have catching up to do.” Nov 4, 2007 by
Melanie from Santa Ana, CA
“Got charged a resort fee at checkout. Wasn't told when purchased, nor at check in, no where until I checked out. Talked to Manager and could care less, they told me it was a tax when it is obviously incremental revenue they don't tell you about. Room was OK but nothing great, good location near the airport, although next time I would stay in Old San Juan.” Nov 3, 2007 by
Valerie from Lake Jackson, TX
“Allowed use of hospitality room for changing prior to check in very nice pool area, beach and outdoor restaurant. Helpful concierge. Nice room. Nice Japanese steakhouse and sushi bar. Only drawback- we had to request room change due to construction noise.” Nov 1, 2007 by
Gehrig R. from Charlottetown, PE CA
“Other than our check in problem and our room being to cold every thing else was ok.” Nov 1, 2007 by
Timothy from Lincoln, NE
“Some staff very eager to help, others not. Nice hotel with a very attractive pool area. Clean, soft beds, overall a nice place to stay. Would definitely recommend to others.” Oct 30, 2007 by
Tom from Chicago, IL
“If you are going to relax by the pool, this is your place. Rooms are terrible. They will require $80/night to upgrade to an ocean view. Even then, the rooms have not been redone since 1985.” Oct 2, 2007 by
Victor from Bronx, NY
“Beautiful outside but the rooms need work. Towels need to be replaced frequently which werent. Water on the floor in bathroom; don't know where the water came from. TV need to be replaced; old and picture was bad. Smoking bedrooms stink; need to have better circulation system. Don't think it even worked. I was there 4 nights and they only gave 2 small bars of soap, had to buy soap at the store outside across the street. Also, a can of coke $4.00 come on!” Sep 29, 2007 by
Diane from Altamonte Springs, FL
“As soon as we pulled up the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our stay was wonderful, will go back as well as recommend to those I know.”
