• Great location for where we wanted to see Old San Juan and site-seeing.
• Dirty/Stained carpets.

“This hotel is right in the middle of Old San Juan, very busy streets. Close to all attractions, shopping and restaurants. The hotel was being remodeled and the rooms had been painted, but the carpets in the rooms and lobby and up the staircase were dirty. Hopefully they will replace them, it would be a big improvement. Staff was great.”

• The concierge
  was very friendly and helpful and the location of the hotel was convienent to most attractions.
• The hotel staff for the most part was unfriendly, terrible with directions, the Casino employees and the Chicago employees were rude.

“Overall the experience was not great. The pool was under construction and no one mentioned that is was inaccessible before we arrived. The staff for the most part was unfriendly and even at times very rude. They also charge service fees that are not included on the price given by priceline when you purchase it, leaving you wondering why you have a bill at checkout.”

• It was walking distances to shops and other attractions in the Old San Juan.
• That the pool was not operating, and their were hotel fees taken out of my account that was not mention to me.

“The valet guys were wonderful and friendly. They were the only staff that asked us for help and if we needed assistant, they were happy to help us in any way. The bathroom in our room was dirty, and we were assigned in an handicap room. I would not recommend this hotel to any one.”

• Convenient to some cruise terminals.
• Not close to RCL cruise terminal.

“Hotel was clean and attractive. The roof top pool had a great view of the harbor. It would be nice if there was a small bar on the roof for refreshments. They had a nice gym, but we didn't use it. Casino on premises, and out side eating area which was nice.”

• The rooftop pool was small.

“Clean rooms, friendly staff, and directly across from the port. I only stayed at the Sheraton two nights before moving to the Marriott Resort, but the Sheraton was a perfectly nice hotel. The rooftop pool was small, but provided me with much needed time in the sun.”

• The beautiful view from the room balcony.
• Poor customer service and delay in getting luggage.

“The lobby and room were lovely, but hallway carpets dirty and warn. If arriving early, luggage placed outside with person watching it, not in an indoor room. Once you get your room key, it took 1 1/2 hrs to get your luggage delivered, and they would not permit you to get your own luggage. The restaurants at the hotel are expensive. The best things about this hotel are the location-easy access to the cruise ports and the view from the upper rooms.”

• Very helpful, while waiting for time to depart for cruies ship.
• Did not like early check out. Noon would be much better.

“The hotel itself was very nice. Staff was more than helpful. Some people in our party of seven couples were given later check out and some were not. This is the second time we stayed here.”

• It was in walking distances to Old San Juan and it was on the harbor.
• Did not come with a refrigerator or microwave for guest staying 3 or more days.

“Overall stay was good. With the inclusion of a microwave/refrigerator, our stay would have been much better.”

• The pool on the top floor is great. Great views and ambiance.
• The room was very humid and felt damp. Not very well ventilated.

“The hotel is close to everything. The inside is really nice and the beds are very comfortable. Other then the fact that the room was very humid and felt damp. The stay was really great. The pool on the 9th floor is excellent, small but full of character. Good view of the bay and cruise ships. Walk to the San Cristobal monument. It's very cool and you have great views of the ocean.”

• Location.
• Resort fee with no apparent benefits: no breakfast, no newspaper. They said use of the pool and gym was what the resort fee was for.

“Good location. Not really 4-star. Room was fine; had to change rooms to fine a non-smoking room. I didn't like the 9.5% resort fee as I got no benefit from it.”

• This hotel is located in the heart of Old San Juan, you can walk everywhere from the hotel. There's lot of restaurants for you to choose.
• There is no beach around the hotel.

“This hotel is in a very convenient location. You only pay $25 for taxi from airport to hotel. After that you can just walk around and buy a day trip to Rain Forest, Bioluminescent Bay, and/or Island. The pier to Bacardi Rum factory is in walking distant also. There's lot of store for you to shop. The restaurants are nicely decorated.”

• Location was good.
• Staff was very bad and rooms were not nice.

“Staff was not helpful, distant and reserved at the best. The noise level was awful and the hall commotion sometimes lasted until 2 am and always began at 7 am (the room was adjacent to the physical fitness center and pool. This hotel has a reputation for poor service, as was noted in numerous conversations with businessmen and women who recommended staying elsewhere in the future. (These discussions were not initiated by us.)”

• Free internet in public spaces never worked nor could any of the staff help us with it.

• The staff was very courteous.
• The pool area was small. It wasn't a full sized pool.

“The hotel was great. The location was in the heart of Old San Juan, just steps away from the street vendors, waterfront, main historical attractions and great food. The concierge was able to quickly set up day trips and provided valuable recommendations. The pool was not a full-sized pool and the pool area was small, but the area was not that crowded and we still enjoyed spending a morning relaxing there. The room service menu was good and included some traditional Puerto Rican options that were prepared well. The casino was fun to go through and they had a variety of different games set up and a selection of slot machines to keep you busy. There was never a shortage of taxis available at the front door. The area felt very safe, with a police officer only a holler away. Overall, this was a great choice for our stay and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.”

“Very nice hotel, room was excellent, friendly staff greeted me soon as we exited the taxi. I was more than pleased that our room was ready when we checked in around noon, we didn't have to wait till 3, which was great. Since we were only there for an overnight stay, it was nice that the hotel was in walking distance to some of the local attractions.”

• Room had no view, only had two double beds not queen per room. Room very small. Did not feel very safe walking around hotel vicinity after dark.

• We liked the cleanliness of the room and the hotel, the friendliness of the employees and the location.
• It would have nice if the room had a balcony.

“We were very pleased with our stay at the Sheraton Old San Juan and would use this hotel again if we were to visit San Juan. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The pool on the top floor was a pleasant surprise and offered a very good view of the surrounding area, including the harbor. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurants was very good.”

• Casino is loud, parking is outrageously expensive.

“Though you don't get any of the local flavor, Sheraton Old San Juan delivers the high quality hotel experience you expect from an upscale business chain hotel. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and all rooms are updated and modern. Because the hotel wasn't at capacity, they accommodated us and changed the reservation without additional charges, I expect that if the hotel was fuller, they would have turned us down or charged us extra to change rooms from a King to two double beds.”

• Hotel was very busy, check in took a long time.

“This is a great hotel with nice rooms, pretty clean. There is a casino in the lobby which attracts tourists and locals. The hotel is in a great location in Old San Juan, walking distance from many attractions of Old San Juan and right across the street from the Cruise Port so it has very nice views of the ships coming in and out. Check in took a while and some people (not us) did not have their room ready even after the specified check in time. They have a small rooftop pool with nice views and decent restaurant options nearby. I would stay here again.”

“Right in the heart of Old San Juan. You could walk anywhere in Old San Juan from the hotel. The trolley service, which will take you around Old San Juan, (and is free!), was located right across from the hotel. Lovely hotel with great amenities. The room was quite nice. Loved the rooftop pool and hot tub. The view from up there was beautiful. Exercise room has a variety of up to date equipment. There is also a casino located in the hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• A little noisy in the night for lower level rooms.

“This hotel has a good location, very close to the harbor, restaurants and stores. The view from the roof top swimming pool is gorgeous. The neighborhood is safe. However it might be a little noisy in the night for rooms at the lower levels. My room is on the 8th floor, but still I can hear people talking loud and laughing very late in the night.”

• The downtown location with all the shopping and the pier.
• Bad window view of the hotel, parking structure.

“The hotel is in a great location if you need to be around the downtown area. Cab fare from airport is $20. My one complaint is that all the regular rooms look out at a parking garage, not a street and not the water. Guest services said the rooms with nice views are reserved for the deluxe suites.”

• Nice view to the cruises port of call.
• Need more entertainment during the stay.

“Very close to the old san Juan. Need a nice restaurant. Next time considered in your stay the way you pick the option of the bed (one king or two double) specified. I have a wonderful stay during these days because there are many things to see in the old San Juan in Puerto Rico.”
