• Right at the airport, no shuttle needed, it's in the terminal; plane to be in 15 minutes.
• Made reservation and was told I could not check in till 3 pm. Arrived at 11am. Others were being given rooms while I was not.

“The hotel is very conveniently placed inside the airport, just a short walk from the baggage claim. No shuttle needed, wheel your luggage on a cart right to the desk. Room was nicely appointed, clean and fairly large size. Unfortunately I arrived at 11 am and was told the room would not be ready until 3 or 4 pm jetlagged and tired I wanted to crash for a bit. No luck. Even though there were others who were being given rooms. They did hold onto my luggage while I hung out groggily in the lounge for 4 hours.”

• Beds very comfortable. Ideally situated.
• Not exactly value for money but no worse than any other hotels.

“For a business user it is excellently situated. The beds extremely comfortable and the service good. What more do you want. Overall an excellent and very clean although this is what I would expect for this kind of money. Definitely the best Sheraton I've stayed in so far.”

• Clean and easy access to Amsterdam Central Station but easy for early morning flight home.
• Bad view but what do you expect attached to an airport?

“Perfect hotel for travelers through Schipol. Access to trains and planes doesn't get any better. But if you're visiting the city, you should stay in the city to get the ambiance.”

• For Schipol users, it is absolutely the best location.
• High Priced Internet Connection.

“Remarkably quiet for an airport hotel. Don't stay here if you're on vacation, you'll get more ambiance by going into the city. But if you are traveling by air or rail, you won't find a better location than this - and a typically comfortable hotel for this star rating.”

• Service at front desk super, we checked in at 2 am in the mourning.
• Breakfast is served till 10 am.

• No air conditioning and the smoking room smelled like an ashtray.

• Excellent location for passengers transiting Amsterdam who simply need a place to stay between flights.
• Check out procedures were slow at 8:00 am on my departure date. A few more staff would have helped.

• Room decor was not the usual hotel style. Very nicely done.
• Air conditioning did not work well. The room was hot and I couldn't cool it down. Public areas not as clean as I would have expected.

“Excellent location for passengers transiting through Amsterdam. Room decor and design quite nice. Needs improvement in air conditioning/heating/ventilation systems.”

• A brief walk from Schipol airport. Very attractive hotel with lots of business travelers.

“With it's great location, guests can stay in a beautiful room, buy meals in the airport's mall and access the train into Amsterdam for 6 Euro rountrip.”

• Convenient to the airport, trains, buses, etc. Completely soundproof! Right next to the airport and dead silent.
• WiFi was OK, but hooking up to the internet via dialup was confusing and difficult. Calls on calling card cost E3.50 each to make.

• What is not to like about this hotel?

“This is a great place at good prices. Great food and the Rrembrandt Bar has a great crowd. Be sure to look for the General. This is way too much fun.”

• I loved being able to get directly off the plane and going straight to my room.
• The room was extremely small and impersonal.

“The Hotel Sheraton was a nice hotel but not of five star quality, the rooms were very small compared to the three other Sheratons I have stayed in, but in their defense I was told that most all the rooms all over Amsterdam are small. I had added room charges that I questioned and they were quickly taken care of, so my overall experience was fine. ”

• The rooms were remarkably quiet! Also, they were clean and comfortable. Health club was great!
• I would have liked to have a breakfast room.

“This was neither the biggest nor the fanciest hotel that I have ever stayed at. However, it was probably the best. I could not believe how quiet the rooms were, especially for an airport hotel. I will DEFINITELY stay there again!!”

• It is definitely worth its 4-star rating, and the location is unbeatable for convenience.
• Nothing I didn't like. Maybe the martini could be a bit cheaper.

“I will definitely stay in this hotel again, given the chance. It is good value even by US standards -- clean, attractive, generally great. The location is convenient to all kinds of transportation.”

• Everything is too expensive. No in-room internet connection for name brand hotel.

“The location is great! The hotel looks great. However, the smoking rooms smelled and the usage of the internet was terrible. Everything including the calls and room service was priced too high.Over all, it was a hotel with great location, but somehow failed in quality of a four or five star hotel.”

• Everything is too expensive from food to calls.

“Nice hotel, but the smoking rooms could smell less. There isn't any in-room Internet connection. The price to use the phone is just outrageous. It costs five Euros just to reach the free calling card number. The best thing about this hotel is the location, which is right next to the city. If you want to get away from the old hotels in the city, this is the one for you.”

“I was visiting Amsterdam for the first time. The room was probably one of the smallest rooms available, especially in a five star rated hotel. The concierge knew nothing about tours, he did not even speak much English. He definitely did not want to help us make tour arrangements, nor did he know directions on a published tour guide. The reasonably priced restaurant did not have menus for breakfast, you actually had to ask what was being served. There were also no posted prices.”
