• The walk on the beach north from the hotel.
• Giving all my winnings back on my last night at the casino.

“What a great place! It's located right at the end of the high rises so all the beach area for miles as you walk north is like having your own private island. It's about a quarter mile south to an amazing assortment of shops and restaurants from familiar names like Fridays, and Hard Rock Cafe to a lot of great local restaurants serving island fare. It's an easy and safe walk through the adjoining Marriott Vacation Club properties. The staff was friendly and eager to please. You won't go wrong staying here.”

• Ongoing construction work. Expensive to eat.

“Hotel was still undergoing some construction work but was not too overbearing. Upgraded room on check-in. Hotel is located at the end of the high-rise hotels meaning the hotel beach is fairly quiet - a big plus. A little expensive to shop/dine in the hotel. Outstanding value. Housekeeping couldn't do enough to accommodate any requests.”

• Very up to date and friendly staff, unlike Occidental.
• Door and curtain set up for balcony could be better laid out.

“It ended up being the perfect end of an amazing trip. A trip of lifetime so far. Staff was very friendly; you get cool towels and a drink when you come in to check in the hotel. Very nice after the beach. Nice rooms and spacious areas for restroom and closet. Exceeded my expectations.”

• Perfect hotel in a very nice area, perfect facilities, unbelievable friendly employees.
• Organization of the palapas on the beach.

“The overall experience in this hotel was really perfect. I am recommending to any who is traveling to Aruba. From check in until check out, everything was perfect. All staff was very friendly, even more than that I have expected. The facilities are very nice, beautiful pool, very nice beach, very good restaurants around, and nice room service. The casino is very nice. In one word: excellent!”

• My favorite things. Swaying palm trees, swim-up bar, and banana boat rides.
• Restaurant service was horrendous and food seldom arrived as ordered for example no cheese.

“Wonderful oceanfront resort. Great for short stays. Plan to do all your shopping and dining at the resort. There is nothing within walking distance. (Taxi required.) Every room had a nice view. Renovations were in progress (July '08) but were isolated to specific areas and did not cause noise or disturbance at all, that I could tell. All rooms are non-smoking, but the casino is dense with smoke. Rooms are high tech, with flat panel TV and all the plugs and jacks you could want. Nice bathroom with double sinks and fancy Kohler fixtures. Everything clean and fresh.”

“The Marriott Stellaris Resort & Casino in Aruba is extremely nice. Hotel and grounds were well kept and staff is more than friendly and helpful. The only down fall is the Marriott is the last high rise on Palm Beach and in order to get to other properties or areas you either need to have a car, taxi or bus, unless like us we would walk up the beach and cut through the Holiday Inn SunSpree which than puts in the middle of several shopping and dining options.”

• Newly renovated, it was clean and beautiful. Very comfortable large beds, flat screen TV. Not afraid to put your feet on the floor at this hotel.
• Could use more variety in restaurants.

“Wonderful value for the money. It was newly renovated and reflected the pride the Marriott chain maintains in it's properties. Staff was very courteous and helpful. It was a pleasure staying in a clean and comfortable environment. I would definitely stay there again.”

• We really enjoyed the pool area and cushions on the lounge chairs.
• Bus stop to far from front of hotel and the noise from construction being done.

“Overall, we enjoyed the hotel except for being the last hotel in the strip of high rise hotels and didn't have easy bus access. I wish there were a few more restaurants/stores close by.”

“Staff was friendly, courtesy and efficient. They could not find my reservation. They told me there were no rooms available and upgraded me to the governors suite. This suite was excellent (worthy of 5 star resort status). When visiting a regular room it was not 4 star or resort status. Very clean and a solid above average 3 star rooms.”

• Very friendly, clean and enjoyable.
• Right now a lot of renovations and getting too big.

“As stated, it is getting too big. When that happens, the personal touch gets lost. I also did not like the new renovations to the lobby. They took always the beautiful wood and made it cold and not to the expectations a Marriott should be.”

• It was extremely clean and everyone was very nice and helpful.
• They didn't give us the room we requested.

“This hotel is beautiful. I was there for vacation with my boyfriend and we stayed in a room that has already been renovated. It was very modern and had a huge flat screen TV, all the wood was a deep Mahogany, and there were his/hers sinks in the bathroom, along with a lot of drawer space. If you like to lay out by the beach, I recommend that you rent a cabana/hut in advance. We never utilized the pool because the beach was so beautiful. The hotel is the last one on the strip, but you're close to the excitement. It's a quick 10 minute walk down the strip to the main tourist area. We went out to dinner and rented a car with the coupons and drove all over the island, which is pretty small. My only complaints would be that the hotel's casino isn't very exciting and there wasn't any nightlife/clubs at the hotel. Other than that, it's a beautiful hotel with an extremely friendly and helpful staff.”

• Old tower had great, spacious rooms. Excellent bed comfort, great maid service, spacious balconies and bathrooms.
• Hotel was undergoing some renovation.

“Would definitely stay here again. Loved the hotel rooms, grounds, and maid service was really good. Never had to fight for beach chairs even though we stayed in high season. Casino was nice.”

• Location is right on the beach, staff very friendly, upscale feel to hotel, beautiful beach with very well kept grounds.
• Lobby under construction; wait for cab due to lobby under construction, fumes from carpet installation last day.

“For the price that we paid we were very happy. We loved the fact that we were directly on the beach. Didn't like that although you can't use the palapas at the time share next door yet they were able to use yours. You would see a family of 12 with a cooler crammed up next to you from the timeshare section. Hotel will be beautiful when completed. I did not hear one bit of construction noise during stay. Staff was excellent from the cleaner to the manager. I would go back in a heartbeat.”

• Lots of construction temporary lobby. Smell of paint. No bath towels in room.

“Hotel staff was friendly and efficient. Renovated rooms are lovely and large with roomy bathrooms. Since this hotel is at the end of the high rise strip, less access to restaurants and shopping within walking distance.”

“The Marriott stellar is a beautiful hotel! The pool is nice and very kid friendly. The staff at the resort was very attentive and gracious! We loved everything about our experience with this resort! Rooms are large and airy. The balconies are also large. The beds are extremely comfortable!”

• The beach.
• I got my key at 11 pm and the hotel is under major renovation.

“I checked in to the hotel and my room was not ready at 2pm and called every hour till 11pm when I got my room key. The hotel lobby was gone wires hanging from ceilings you walk thru a construction area to get to and from all places. Our room overlooked the construction storage area. I lost my wallet (or was taken) and my cash was gone when it was found by the staff.”

• We liked the location, which was right on the beach. Very nice pool too.
• Overpriced; indifferent staff attitude; noisy construction.

“We've stayed at many Marriott's and this was not what we've come to expect from this chain. The staff was not rude, but generally had a very indifferent attitude. They were definitely not trying to exceed our expectations in any manner. The food and drinks were extremely overpriced. Our garden view room also overlooked the interior bar which was very noisy and smoky late at night. The hotel had ongoing construction which was annoying enough during the day, but also woke us up twice during the early am. We would not recommend this hotel or Aruba for that matter, to anyone. It's a very beautiful island, but it is very expensive and you don't get a very friendly vibe from any of the locals. They definitely do not live up to their "One Happy Island" slogan. It makes us wonder how they get any repeat business.”

“Hotel had started a remodeling/construction and we had trailers and truck traffic from our 4th floor balcony, not a pretty sight. Also, one of the two elevators was always out of order, had to take the stairs a lot. Checking out we had to wait 6 times before getting on with our luggage. Not a good experience.”

• High-speed internet did not work at first - took hours and multiple calls to fix.

“Beach was nice and clean, though very few waves on the west side of the island. The "main strip" of other resorts and restaurants was just a short drive away (a little far to walk). The only problem was with the high-speed internet - it simply did not work at first due to a hardware/modem problem. I had to wait around my room the first day for it person to show up then got no resolution. ”

• Price was great for Aruba, housekeeping staff was great.
• Did not grant request of 2 beds, one of the hotels only two elevators was broken almost the whole time, locations was at the very end of the beach.

“The hotel was a bit outdated, the housekeeping staff was great, the front desk staff could have been more accommodating. I did not like that it was at the very end of the beach and all the restaurant were farther down. The price was great.”

• Loved the overall comfort of the lobby and the rooms.
• Only downside was having to rent the Palapas at the beach.

“This hotel was great, with a fabulous view. Very romantic while being family friendly. The staff was courteous and pleasant in all areas. I felt as if I was being pampered and was treated like a special guest. I highly recommend this hotel to all.”

• The hotel offered oversized rooms & great amenities.
• The beach was different at other hotels. Smoother sand/clearer water.

“The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very helpful. The rooms were oversized with a large balcony. In addition, the casino was a nice size as well, offering many machines and tables. My one suggestion is get a rental car, as the property is not in walking distance of many restaurants and the cab fares will add up quick. Overall a good choice!”

• The Aruba Marriott hotel staff was wonderful!
• Nothing that I didn't like!

“First, the hotel was beautiful and is located on palm beach. Our room was adequate but would have preferred to have a queen size bed instead of a double bed. However, they did upgrade our room to an ocean view and that was wonderful! Next, the staff was wonderful. All very pleasant and friendly. At the lobby, there was a staff to provide you services, such as, car rental, arrangements for various activities, book massage appointments, etc. Everyone was very helpful. I would use it again to book my next hotel stay to save money and get a better quality hotel. Thanks!”
