“The Holiday Inn looks great on the outside but leaves much to be desired when the cover is peeled back to reveal the inside, particularly if you stay in the Curacao tower. Service is very unfriendly for an island that has "one happy island" plastered on every license plate. The room conditions were borderline unsanitary. The bathroom plumbing was leaky and noisy. The shower would change from cold to scalding in a nanosecond. The walls are paper thin (thank goodness we were on an end). The beach and public areas are relatively nice although beach access is difficult to get unless you wake up at dawn. The hotel does seem to cater to families quite nicely. Its workout facility and spa were of decent quality. The casino was acceptable although they could have opened earlier to accommodate those that wished to wager on the NCAA basketball tournament. The restaurants were adequate although we found ourselves dining out a great deal since the options outside the hotel were much more attractive. I will return to Aruba but will not likely return to the Holiday Inn.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 27, 2008 by

“For the price I paid I was pleased. But if youre looking for nice, nice rooms go elsewhere. 1st time to Aruba & we stayed here for 3 days & then at a timeshare in the low-rise area. Ocean is better at the low-rise area, little fewer weeds. But, I really liked that you could take a few steps to go from the ocean to the pool in the high-rise area. There are also lots of stores and great restaurants in very short walking distance to the high-rise area. We didn't get the all inclusive and honestly unless you plan to drink a lot it isn't worth it at the Holiday Inn. The food was better at every place we walked to. Others guests who got the all inclusive were not happy. Overall- would totally recommend this hotel if you don't spend much time in your room. You'll like it if you want a "busy/active" area (I don't mean like a college party) nice for families and lots of activities/options right by you.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Dec 6, 2007 by

“Holiday Inn Aruba gave us a warm feeling and good value for our money. The rooms are not expensive and offered us all the things we needed on a holiday. Most important 'it was clean'. Their beach is great even as the staff of the hotel. We will come back next year for sure.” Nov 15, 2007 by

“Good location. Ran out of beach towels.” Nov 11, 2007 by

“Overall Id say this is an excellent hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. Pool and beach are nice. Although a hut on the beach may be hard to come by. Staff was helpful and friendly.” Sep 14, 2007 by

“Location is great, right in the center. Its beach is public and nice. But the reception is not working properly. I had a room available after 4 p.m. So, I had to wait for a while in this hot weather. The terrible hotel staff really lowered the satisfaction level. Its Italian food and buffet is great.” Sep 10, 2007 by

“Great beach and a good hotel for the money, but not a 4- star in my estimation. Expected restaurants to be better; I enjoyed the buffet, but there are only 2 restaurants on-site, and you must wake up at 7:00 am, on the day of, to book for dinner. entertainment was lacking; amateur is the best way to describe it. the strip of shops, and restaurants in front of hotel is nice, safe.” Mar 27, 2007 by

“The beach is not bad at this hotel but if you wanted hut you have to line up at 7:30 AM and hope you can get one. We decided this was not a good idea so we did without. We like it when you get up early and pick your hut and go from there instead of assigning them at a particular time.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Mar 2, 2007 by

“This hotel is located on one of the nicer beaches in the Caribbean. The room showed some signs of wear and general neglect, but was not a problem, just not closely managed. Housekeeping was not closely supervised or very attentive. But I could stay there again for the price we paid and the time we vacationed.” Nov 14, 2006 by

“Since there was renovation going on, it was sometimes noisy. As soon as this is completed, it will be an excellent hotel.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 29, 2006 by

“Awful experience at this hotel!!! We arrived at 4 to check in - nothing ready due to lazy cleaning staff. Had to wait in line over and over again - sometimes up to 40 minutes. Finally had something available at 7PM! Went up to the room and there were no sheets on the bed and dirty towels all over the room - the room had not been touched! Had to walk back down to front desk and get a different room. VERY FRUSTRATING. Next day we requested a late checkout due to our inconveniences - request was honored however when we came in from the beach (wet and sandy) our key cards had been deactivated and we were never told that we had to have them updated! Really annoying. Very lazy staff, couldn't be more disappointed - awful way to start the trip.” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.Aug 23, 2006 by

“Hotel lobby chaotic. Bathroom in DIRE need of updating. Cracked tiles, cracked faucets. I got stuck in the elevator after it came to a jarring halt. When I attempted to use the emergency phone, it didn't work. Rang emergency bell. No answer. Wedged door open and yelled for help-FINALLY got a response. Room smelled musty. Watch in room disappeared. Place seemed dumpy. I would NEVER suggest this hotel to ANYONE.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 15, 2006 by

“Nice hotel, good location, convenient facilities, location is safe and excellent, showers and amenities old and need to be replaced, other than that a very great place to stay for a cheap price” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.May 18, 2006 by

“Great interior, ugly exterior, but the great location on the beach makes up for it.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 12, 2005 by

“This hotel is under going renovation. Last year the pools were replaced and the gym replaced. The rooms are next. Check in accomplished easily and front desk staff good. Bar tenders not all that friendly. Room was clean but dated. Adjusting the hot/cold water in the shower difficult. Holiday Inn advertises free internet - not here. Shops small and expensive - USD $5.50 for a small bag of chips. Bring you own snacks. Bring your own booze - pick it up in San Juan. Duty free booze in Aruba much higher than San Juan. Food is OK; not excellent but not bad. Beach is nice and very little difficulty with coral and rocks. You need to place towels on the lounges to "reserve" them at least no later than 7 AM if you want a good spot. There should be a reservation system for the beach areas. Parking a rental car is a problem - not enough spaces nearby. Lobby not all that attractive. I would say this is like a 3 star hotel in the states with a nice beach. not a luxury hotel by any means.” 4 of 4 people found this review helpful.Jul 19, 2005 by

“Very disappointing. Service was very terrible. After checking in, we headed joyfully to the beach bar for a frosty drink. The bar tender rudely implied that we were trying to put something by him when we said we were supposed to have the "all inclusive" plan including drinks. We returned to the front desk and after waiting in yet another line, they corrected the wrist bands they had given us for the plan. We returned to the bar where the surly bartender refused to wait on us. Not a good introduction. Not everything abou the hotel was this bad, but we had numerous encounters with staff that were not good. Sep 29, 2004 by
Asif A. from Orlando, FL “I am not sure how this hotel can be 4 star. That was a very small boutique style hotel and may be 2 1/2 -3 star quality level.” 2 of 5 people found this review helpful.Hotel Representatives:
