from Eagle Pass,TX “Nice hotel. Rocky beach, but pool compensated this deficit. Overall, good experience.” Apr 16, 2009 by
Darrin from Danville,CA “Aggressive Timeshare sales, the hotel seems to be in lock down plastic and wicker room furniture. Nice views from the rooms.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Mercedes from Pittsburg, CA
“Overall disappointed with the Sheraton. They checked us into a room that had a leak in the roof (it rained each night) knowing before we checked in that there was an existing leak. Upon complaining about the room, it took several people and several phone calls to get a new room and never an official apology. Very disappointing. I will not be recommending this hotel to friends and family.” May 22, 2008 by
Shou from Flushing, NY
“I was disappointed with this hotel; I poured myself a drink in a glass and the bubbles appeared from glass not being rinsed thoroughly. At one point my electricity just disappeared and while the maintenance person that eventually showed up and fixed it; reporting problem and waiting was inconvenient. Something every potential guest should know is that if you get the new beds that they have; they leave a notes saying that you should be careful not to stain the bed or you will be charged for it, so they suggest you not wear lotion while sitting on it, etc. Which is some what ridiculous because when youre traveling you dont want to have to do that? You wear sun block and after day of sightseeing sometimes all you want to do when you get back to hotel is plunk down on the bed. So basically the bed is like an eggshell you don't want to step on. It seemed like they were trying to move in the direction of the Westins heavenly bed, but it didn't come even remotely close to it.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Dot from Mountain View, CA
“Sheraton Buganvilias is in a great location - very close to Downtown PV and the romantic zone. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel. Very good value for the money. Rooms are clean and comfortable but bare bones. Some rooms are above the bar and disco lounge so the music can get loud at night. There are only balconies on two floors. The hotel architecture and design of rooms is a little older. They are gradually remodeling the rooms. Only floor 21 had been remodeled at the time of this writing.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Steve from Santa Monica, CA
“I feel as though I selected a 4 star hotel and got a 2.5 star hotel.” Apr 18, 2008 by
Jackie from Chandler, AZ
“Was not impressed with this hotel at all. Was a nice resort feel property but very impersonal and staff was not very friendly. Dirty floors, couch in room was stained and dirty.” Apr 15, 2008 by
Robin from Woodburn, OR
“There is no way the room we received was a 4 star. The bathroom was dirty, mold around tub, dead bugs. The bedding was dirty, very plain white walls no deco, cheap furniture. Basically very ugly rooms for a Sheraton.” Apr 8, 2008 by
Kathy from Everett, WA
“We stayed just one night as we were heading to an another resort the next day. Good location and very nice pool area. As we were just in a hotel room with two double beds, we would not have wanted to stay there for more then a day or two. I am sure that they had larger rooms/beds. Beautiful views.” Apr 4, 2008 by
Leticia from San Pedro, CA
“We overall liked the hotel but when we got there we decided to upgrade to master suite. It was very, very disappointing. The quality of the furnishings weren't up to par with what we believed a master suite should be.” Apr 3, 2008 by
Dee from Brookfield, WY
“I (mom) was traveling with my 18 yr old son. I was not informed as to which lobby I should go to. At the second lobby, I was informed that there was only one bed. After going to the first lobby and then into the registration room, and approx. 45 min. later, I was given a room with two beds at an additional $50 per day cost. The room location was great. The Murphy bed plus on bedroom served our needs. The location of hotel was within walking distance of Downtown Puerto Vallarta. The hotel restaurant food and location was great. It was a pleasant stay. The checkout at Noon took 45 minutes. The cost from the airport was $20. We were given the name of the No Name Restaurant as a place to watch USA Basketball games for March Madness. Good place.” Apr 1, 2008 by
Pedro from Miami, FL
“Very clean, a lot of attention, great pools, always heated and clear. Nice family hotel.” Mar 24, 2008 by
Yvonne from Lompoc, CA
“The hotel has very nice facilities, the rooms are nice and comfortable; it has a very good location and the staff is friendly. The food is not so good and it is very expensive. The first floors are very noisy since they are very near the lobby.” Jan 11, 2008 by
Alejandro from Montebello, CA
“Service-oriented, non-existent. Pool close at 2200, but 'towel service' ends at 2030! (?) Food quality and presentation was not reflective of a 'resort' environment and expectation. Most of the waiters and waitress made up for the deficiency. Check-in process, a nightmare!” Dec 19, 2007 by
Richard from Oklahoma City, OK
“Friendly & efficient check in. Comfortable & clean room. Loved the pool, spa & waterfall. Enjoyed the Sunday brunch. No downside as far as we could tell.” Nov 20, 2007 by
Cathy from Ripon, CA
“Hotel was close to a local grocery store (Mega) one block, local coffee shops nearby. I used the gym facilities and it was decent, updated equipment. Local gyms were in walking distance. Hectors Restaurant was one block up. Hotel pool facilities are private, clean.” Apr 28, 2007 by
Lois from Sparks, NV
“Beaches were poor and it was a ways into town but the pools and grounds were nice.” Apr 12, 2007 by
Tom from White Pigeon, MI
“This hotel serves up a great place to unwind. The location is great for travel north or south. Lunch menu food very good. Night time buffet are not very good. Food needs to be upgraded to meet the star rating that Sheraton has. Overall, had wonderful time an enjoyed the Sheraton.” Apr 11, 2007 by
I4abuy from Washington, DC
“Very nice staff. Good food and drinks. Very good room. Everything seems a bit expensive, though, for Puerto Vallarta.” Apr 2, 2007 by
Tamra from Brush Prairie, WA
“This is the worst 4-star I have ever visited. I believe there are different star levels on the property. They did not have our reservation then once they saw the rate we paid, we were placed in the lower start wing. Very disappointing.” Mar 17, 2007 by
Jose from Tempe, AZ
“My wife and I had a great me. The facilities exceeded our expectations. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are always available to answer any questions. Wireless internet is available. The hotel is clean, with beautiful views. Downtown is very close, lots of fun and good food.” Mar 1, 2007 by
Jeff from Condord, CA
“Great place, short walk to downtown. Nice pool/beach area. Steer away from the time share desk, very pushy salespeople.” Feb 23, 2007 by
Susan from Brookline, MA
“The location of the hotel is excellent; the help is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is immaculate and maintained beautifully. We're going back next year; I think that is the best review you can give.” Dec 29, 2006 by
Animesh from Westerville, OH
“Overall a good experience. Nice 4-star hotel with great views, good restaurants, close to downtown. Language major problem due to poorly trained staff. But pricey though. Many better choices and value for money available in the hotels in the romantic zone of p.vallarta. Stay there.” Jul 14, 2006 by
Genoveva from Chicago, IL
“Will not be back to this hotel!” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 29, 2006 by
Patricia from Rio Rancho, NM
“I would stay at the hotel again I think if the prices on the food were reasonable we would have eaten their more often. The surrounding beach area is not very nice.” May 23, 2006 by
Matt from Rockwall, TX
“Great location within walking distance of downtown and wonderful restaurants. Waste of wonderful restaurants if you plan to stay and eat at your hotel/resort. No charge for parking rental car. Great vacation.” Apr 23, 2006 by
Holly from New York, NY
“If you are looking for a family friendly resort, this is the place. There are many structured activities and options. Retrospectively, I might have rather stayed right near the Melecon (downtown) or perhaps in one of the smaller towns outside PV (and rented a car). Caveats--the poolside bar closes early--around 7pm I think (which was disappointing). Don't eat at the hotel's restaurant unless you like to wait. Both times we ate there we left annoyed, waiting over an hour for any portion of our meal.” Feb 14, 2006 by
Dave from St. Paul, MN
“This hotel is definitely not a 4 star property, there is an attached vacation club. Our room was mediocre at best, the balcony and the furniture was full of bird droppings, the air conditioning was less than adequate. Their pool area is nice and clean, but they heat the pool, when you are baking in the 85 degree temps, you don't want to jump in a warm bath, and we couldn't cool off. The beach area was rocky and difficult to go in the ocean. They offer an exercise room, but it is connected to the timeshare part and they charge you to use it, it was full every time I went over there. The breakfast buffet was beyond ridiculously expensive, 24 bucks US, for rice, beans, pastries, fresh fruit, some meat, nothing special, it would have been priced 12-14 bucks in the states at any nice hotel. Every time I went to get Ice the machine was empty or broken. The location is convenient for going downtown. There is a Mega market within walking distance or a cab. I would not recommend this hotel, it was expensive and not worth the money. We did love Puerto Vallarta, great arts district, great restaurants, the Malecon was always interesting.” Dec 14, 2005 by
Tracy from St. Michael, MN
“Very good location, especially if you enjoy walking into town. It was about a 10 minute or less walking distance to many restaurants. The fine dining at this hotel was exceptional. Our party, 5 people, ate there twice because it was so great. Good steak, lobster special, and nice atmosphere, close to the ocean.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 7, 2005 by

“Time-share suites are nice for families because 6 people fit perfectly. Also, these provide you with all the needs that one could need. Besides, Kids love the place. My family is thinking about staying at this hotel early April next year.” Nov 21, 2005 by
Anna from Kenosha, WI
“The Sheraton has 2 nice pools, both have shallow areas for children and both have bars. The location was a short taxi (35p) or bus ride to downtown. The staff was friendly. The rooms were clean but pretty basic. Watch out for the time share people in the lobby.” Aug 8, 2005 by
Sandra from San Antonio, TX
“The building, the personnel, food, prices was wonderful, but the beach is really bad.” Jul 26, 2005 by
Liz from San Diego, CA
“This hotel is rated as a resort, as a 4 star on other sites. Didn't think it really lived up to those ratings. Grounds of hotel itself are lovely, and very clean. Pools are beautiful, but filled with screaming children, even at the swim-up bars, and very loud poolside music! No quiet area for adults. Beach was rocky, although roped off area means less hassles from evndors unless you're actually interested in shopping, which is good. Room was a disappointment--this was a 2.5 star room on 4 star grounds and lobby. A/C was woefully underpowered and furniture was showing its age, needs updating.Convenient location within walking distance of downtown PV.”
