• Location to the metro system.

• The location is good, and the beds are comfortable.
• The service was not always friendly, especially since I lost electricity for 4 hours!

“This hotel was good in general. The location is good for business and the metro station was close. The public spaces in the hotel were very stuffy and hot, and when the electricity went off in my room for 4 hours I had to call the front desk 3 times before it was fixed.”

• Very comfortable beds, clean snowy-white sheets, remodeled bathrooms.
• Their bar closed at 11pm; usually bars are open till at least 2am in North America. It could be just French life-style in general.

“The buildings surrounding the hotel are modern and are illuminated at night. Grande Arches is right next to the hotel. The beds are extremely clean and comfortable. There were 6 pillows on the bed! The bathroom was modern and clean.”

• Clean, friendly staff, comfortable beds.
• Rooms are just a little small.

“This hotel is great! The staff was really friendly. The rooms are small but very clean and well-appointed. The beds were so comfortable we fell asleep for hours after lying down to take a rest. The buffet breakfast (included with the room) was the best I have ever had. Definitely worth the full four stars, if not more.”

• Clean, comfortable accommodations.
• Wouldn't mind a slightly bigger room.

“This hotel is in Paris, but not really. If you want quiet time this is the hotel and the subway is right outside, which can take you to the busy Paris life.”

• The room was immaculate and the bed was perfect.
• It was a bit far from the metro station.

• Great bed and bathtub and good business location.
• Took over 30 minutes to register, internet access is not included in price.

“Hotel is a great location for business travelers located at the back of the arch de la defense. Rooms are really nice but a bit small and work space is also somewhat reduced. Service is not that great at the reception. Overall I can recommend this hotel.”

• I liked the staff, the comfort of the bed and the view from our room.
• I did not like the size of the room. It was not at all what I was expecting.

“La defense is a nice hotel. The room was not very big and we had a corner room which is listed at a higher rate than the other rooms. The staff is very helpful as well as friendly. The location is far from the center of Paris however there is a metro stop located about a three minute walk away from the hotel. Also the hotel is located next to a major attraction.la grande arch. Overall the hotel is clean, comfortable and attractive. I would stay there again mainly because of the price.”

• Friendly staff, very nicely furnished room with full amenities.
• About 100 yards walk to metro/rear train station entrance.

“Public areas were elegant and staff very helpful. The room was stylishly furnished and looked as if it was renovate recently. Large bathroom. The hotel is adjacent to a shopping mall, cinema, arch de la defense, convention center and restaurants. If you don't mind walking about 100 yards to the train station, the attractions of downtown Paris are only 15 minutes away. Very convenient to those arriving via train at gore due norde- just two trains and 20 minutes of time and you are at the hotel.”

• Very clean and modern hotel.
• Several services around the hotel were closed on the weekend, which is understandable for a business area.

“While the location is not great for tourists, the very fast moving and clean Metro line 1 is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The Metro got us to the tourist areas (Arc D'Triomphe) within 15 minutes, and 20 minutes to the Louvre. The location felt safe, and there were plenty of other people around most of the time. It was also nice to see the huge Arch of La Defense, which we would not have made the trip out there to see if we were staying in another part of the city.”

• I really liked that the hotel staff all spoke English and helped us out in every way possible. Morning complimentary coffee in the lobby was great.
• The location was in the business district so you didn't get the Parisian experience walking out your hotel.

“Our hotel was great. The employees all spoke English and helped us every way possible. They were so friendly. We had complimentary coffee in the hotel lobby every morning which was great. The hotel was clean and very lovely. We were very close to the metro and didn't have a problem getting anywhere. I think we would have enjoyed the Parisian experience a little more if we were in a different location. Other than that we had a wonderful time and we have absolutely nothing negative to say about the Renaissance La Defense.”

• Very helpful, friendly and capable staff.
• Even though the subway was close by, it is in a suburb and far from the sights.

“The hotel is modern and a great deal of attention has been paid to details. The room was relatively large for Paris and had a comfortable king size bed. We also stayed at a more central location on this trip so we got two very different impressions of Paris. The staff was well trained and exceptional. We would stay there again since the Metro is very efficient and took us downtown quickly. It felt deserted at night so I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable walking back to the hotel on my own.”

• I liked it being near the metro.
• I did not like the small rooms.

“The room we had was quite small. Not very good shower facilities, only a small door about 20" wide with the rest of bath open, causing water on floor any time you shower. Within a quarter mile or so of the Metro, which was convenient. Lots of shopping in a mall 300 yards or so away.”

• Very nice rooms and fitness club. Good price for the quality.
• I asked for rooms not too near one another and I was given rooms with a connecting door!

“I think this hotel is excellent and would recommend it to anyone not concerned with staying in the absolute center of Paris.”

• Very clean and professional English speaking staff.
• In the boonies, takes you away to the interesting part of Paris.

“Very nice hotel with excellent English speaking staff. Nice big rooms with excellent service. Only major short coming is that La Defense is on the outskirts of Paris making it more of a hassle, but not overly so to get to anywhere interesting. Excellent business hotel.”

• Beautifully furnished rooms - nice fitness area
• Difficult to find with public transportation and no legible map available on their website

“This hotel definitely is worth its 4-star rating. Just recently redecorated with quality furnishings in rather large rooms, going all the way from plush curtains (which are Velcro to the wall to keep out the light!), to very nice wall hangings and furniture. I can't say enough good things about it. The room service was excellent, and the food delicious. The personnel was very pleasant and competent. The main negative about the hotel is if you are coming by any means aside from taxi or metro, it is not easy to find and very few of the escalators work around this area so be prepared to use your legs (not an area for the handicapped). I came by tram and wandered around for quite awhile with my very heavy suitcase before finding it.”

• Front door not well marked, had to walk around to the back.

“This is a very nice hotel, situated fairly close to the Metro and a large shopping mall. The room was spacious, clean, and very nice. The view was even quite nice of La Grande Arche. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. I have no problem recommending this hotel.”

• Close to Metro, Bar had Guinness
• Charged 30 Euros for very short call to US.

“The location was great, just on the other side of the Grand Arch from the Metro station. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bartender was especially helpful with suggestions of other nearby places to visit. They had Guinness which is very unusual in Paris. The only English language TV channels were news (BBC/CNN/MSNBC)--It would have been nice to have one entertainment channel for one night I had trouble sleeping.”
