• The staff were incredible-very accommodating and kind and considerate.
• The rooms at the marina hotel and the pool at the marina hotel.

“When we checked in to the Marina Renaissance, I was very disappointed. The pool overlooks the road that is busy with cars all day long. The bedroom was small and cramped, and the view was an alley with construction going on. When I asked to change hotel, the management were very accommodating and seemed to genuinely care about our comfort. We loved the Reanniansce beach resort. The suites were large and must have been recently remodeled. The bedding was luxurious, and there was a balcony with an ocean view. The restaurant staff were very nice as were all the staff. I cant wait to go back. The weather was great, the pools very nice, the casinos were fun, etc. It was a great property and will definitely go again to the Renaissance Beach resort. Thanks you.”

• Our room was on the street side and we could not leave the slider open at all to enjoy the breeze.

• I liked that the hotel had the only private beach in Aruba
• There were long lines for the onsite tour company representative.

“The hotel was located in "Downtown" Aruba. The room was nice and all rooms have sliding glass doors that opened (no balcony). The hotel food was good and there were restaurants onsite as well. The hotel has the only 24 hour casino on the island. The highlight for us was the hotel has their own "island" there is a boat that will pick you up in the lobby and will take you on a 10 minute boat ride to their beach. The beach has a adult only side and family friendly side. The adult side was very quiet and we ended up staying on the family side. We didn't have any problems with noisy children it just seemed to be more livelier. Just note that if you would like to take a tour see if you can call the DePalm Tours representative onsite before you go. Many of the tours were sold out when we were there. A lot of cruise ships (which dock near the hotel) fill up many of the tours offered. We had a great time and would recommend this hotel.”

• The location was excellent. The boat ride to their private island really made the visit to this hotel very special.
• The bathroom sink water was not cold, and the shower water was not hot.

“The hotel has a lovely pool area and deck that accommodates those who want sun or shade. The bar is very conveniently located alongside the pool. The rooms are small adequate and clean, but not luxurious.”

• It's all about the private island!
• Service sometimes slow. But that's Aruba.

“I have stayed in this property before. I like the option of two locations - one for families and one for adults without children. It's a great one stop, luxury location, shopping, spa, etc.”

• Great location, nightlife diversity. Renaissance island ¿ beautiful.
• Perhaps not the most suitable hotel for families, although the ocean suites side of the hotel is great for kids.

“Great hotel, excellent staff and services. The best feature is the private island with its wonderful Nature and lagoon beaches. For adults, the location is absolutely perfect, being located right in the centre of ornamented offering a lot of options for nightlife entertainment. • The quality of the facilities was numerous uno.
• Rooms could have been anywhere. No "view" except of inner courtyard.

“This hotel is in the heart of downtown across from the harbor. The private island is beautiful, as are the common areas. Unfortunately, the staff is mediocre. Smallest room in the hotel with a view facing the interior atrium without any sunlight. Although the hotel was at low occupancy, my request to change rooms was denied. ”

• Private island with adult side and pink flamingos, boat in lobby, lg smith restaurant with great service.
• No hot water for 2 days in shower. Room across from laundry room. Noisy in the morning.

“Loved the private island and boat that was in the lobby to take you there. Location is right next to shopping area which is a plus for teens. Not near the beach but island makes up for it. Flies seem to take over the food area at the restaurant on island. There was no hot water for our entire stay in shower. Room right across from laundry room and close to ice machine. Customer. Still felt that for the price it was worth it. Could have gotten it for 75 dollars more through hotel and would surely have gotten a better room.”

• The hotel is in downtown, and thus there is some street noise that filters in the windows.

“Great views of the wonderful Arabian sunset. The hotel offers a nice pool and bar right in the center of downtown Aruba. While the hotel is not directly on the beach, it does offer something better to all hotel guests - its own private island. With water shuttles departing the hotel every 10-minutes, this island is convenient, beautiful and not crowded.”

• Very close to downtown restaurants, shops, and casinos. Choice of two very nice pools.
• Views from room not great and traffic noise bothersome some nights. A little too far from beaches but the Renaissance private island beach was nice.

“Nice hotel, disappointed at no ocean view from most of the rooms. Too far from most beaches, would rather stay further north on island near the high or low rise hotel areas.”

• Hotel is very centrally located, clean, and well run. Marina rooms are best suited for singles/couples.
• Room was very noisy. Hotel is not on the beach, but they have a private island that one can reach via boat.

“Renaissance Resort is a clean, well run hotel that is centrally located in downtown Aruba. Walking distance to restaurants, shops, movie theaters, etc. The hotel has two buildings: the Marina Resort (located across the street from the water) and the Ocean Suites (time shares) located on the water. The Marina Resort is best suited for singles & couples, as it is noisy and not particularly child-friendly. The Ocean Suites are quieter and much more family friendly. The combined property has 3 pools and a small man made beach (in front of the Ocean Suites building). Renaissance has a private island, which they shuttle you to by boat, that certainly makes up for the lack of beachfront property at the hotel. The island is a mini tropical paradise, complete with flamingos, iguanas, two lagoons, and restaurant, etc. It is truly lovely.”

• Location and access to the Renaissance Island.
• The rooms were not so good - the bathroom was old and very basic, even the bath tub had cracks, no lights in the shower area.

“Excellent location and the fact that you can use facilities of both the sites makes it a great stay. staff is excellent, but the rooms leave a lot to be desired. Need renovation, not recommended if you are looking for something luxurious. The Renaissance Island is great and so is the Diner on the beach at the Ocean suites.”

• It's in downtown.
• It's in downtown, a lot of traffic and noise.

“Ok service. It's in the downtown where the cruise ship docks. However, a lot of traffic and the noises from traffic. Would not stay here next time. Rather pay a little more and stay in one of the other high-rise hotels off from the downtown area. Really nothing to see in the downtown area other than shopping. Can take a taxi or rent a car if needed. The private Island is ok but charges way too much for drinks and food. This was one of the positive of this hotel. Did not like any of the games at the casino. Different way of playing blackjack than I'm use to.”

• Loved the rimless pool. Beautiful lighting at night. Great food.
• I didn't win any money in the casino.

• Staff was friendly and helpful.
• We were lucky but for some parking was limited.

“We were very pleased with the location, the staff and the ambiance. Our room was very comfortable and we even had a view of the marina. The pool area was quite lovely. It sits above street level so you can sit by the pool and look out at the ocean. I would recommend the hotel for the friendly staff and consider all the other amenities as bonus. ”

• This was a beautiful hotel with a water taxi, that took you from the lobby to a wonderful private island with friendly flamingos.
• The elevator that took you to the lobby smelled like mildew.

“The staff was very friendly and gave us an inexpensive ocean view upgrade. Although it was not a beach front hotel, it was convenient to the downtown area and very close to the pier where we boarded the Windjammer ship.”

• Surrounding streets loud on weekends, some affiliated restaurants on island time.

“Unlike the hotel strip, this hotel is within walking distance of a lot. However, I would not call it laid back and relaxing. More like big bustling. I enjoyed the pool area, the proximity to clubs, the restaurants and the proximity to the pier from which I boarded the Windjammer S.V. Polynesia. I was granted late check out at 2p at no additional charge. The staff is helpful, and the private island is nice. Entry to the water is a little rocky, but there were about ten flamingos that would eat from your hand.”

“Clean, comfortable hotel conveniently located near downtown. One major drawback that would prevent me from returning is the over abundance of street noise late at night. Loud car engines, mufflers, and squealing tires every night made sleep difficult. Also, while the hotel is nice, it falls short of a 4-star rating.”

“Simply beautiful! The private pools, amazing shopping, and multiple restaurant options made the stay at the Renaissance that much better. And when I found out in an article on Associated Content that this hotel was on its own island, I was sold. The spa services were splendid- I had the BEST massage! The staff were friendly and very helpful as well!”

• Although not beachfront, it provided a wonderful private island beach experience w/o complication.
• Pool was too small. However, never very crowded. So, not a big deal.

“Renaissance Aruba Resort is, in my opinion, the best place to stay in Aruba. With the choice of the Beach Resort or the Marina tower, both with their own styles and amenities, the rooms are great. The best thing, however, is the private island. It is paradise. Calm, turquoise Caribbean water, chairs on a white beach, and palm trees. Yum!”

“The Renaissance is a nice hotel in the middle of Orangestad, the capitol of Aruba. The location has pros and cons. The good side is that because it's in Orangestad, it's close to many shops and restaurants. The bad side is that it's not on the beach. The hotel has it's own private island that is accessible by a free boat ride from the hotel lobby (way cool), but the island is only open from 7am to 7pm, can get crowded quickly, and it's not the same as being on the main strip of beach (Eagle and Palm Beaches) with the other hotels in Aruba. The hotel itself is clean, and amenities are in line with what you'd expect for Marriott's middle-upper class line of hotels. It can be a bit noisy, but request a room facing the atrium to deal with that.”
