• Newly furnished rooms.
• Worn towels and AC was very poor (hot) although outside Temp was 77 oF.

“I was chocked that this is a Marriott hotel it could be more of 3-4 start rather than a 5 star hotel. The towels are changed every day with another worn towels and they are more grayish color than being white. Also the AC was not working properly and the staff changed our room with no difference. They claim the temperature is 66 oF while it couldn't reach 72 in the room and we are sweating in the room. The staff apologized and indicated that there is a limitation of AC performance and it is a chronic problem in the summer time. I'm not going to stay in the hotel again never.”

• Location was good.
• Very poor customer service. Bad communication among employees.

“Very poor customer service/resolution of problems. No communication among employees. Most of front desk trainees, I was asked for my credit card upon check in and they put a pre-authorization on 278 USD on my credit card without my knowledge,(room was prepaid) after questioning the manager about that, they promised me the charges were dropped. Almost a week later I'm still making international calls to that hotel, because they not didn't even drop the pre-authorization but charged me for the room (pre-paid). The manager is very rude, and not willing to admit they are making big mistakes. He offered me a drink as compensation, but a drink will not resolve the fact that I had to interrupt my travel plans because of unadvised and unexpected charges. The bedroom comforter stunk, like it was humid or had mold, I felt like a no star hotel due to the smell in the room. I felt intermediate to complain because I had worse problem to get resolved and they were not helping me. Unacceptable for a supposed to be 4 star hotel with a brand Marriott on it.”

• The staff was perfect; rooms comfortable; easily accessible to major attractions.
• The hotel was a bit expensive for the room and the restaurant. I wished there had been more coffee available during the day.

“The hotel was great. The staff was extremely kind, pleasant, courteous and knowledgeable. With the help of the concierge we were easily able to get around on the U-bahn and he also arranged some tours for us, which were great. The pool was wonderful and the beds were very comfortable! I would definitely go there again. We were there during the Oktoberfest and were worried about what was the best times to go but concierge advised us about that & everything worked out perfectly.”

• The beds and comforters were very comfortable.
• It was a distance from the city centre.

“Lovely hotel but difficult to find (there needs to be a sign for people walking, for it is tucked away and you need to take a small side path to get there). The beds were the most comfortable of our trip. The staff was mostly nice, although we had to wait awhile to retrieve our bags from storage. The location isn't phenomenal. It's about 8 stops from the city centre on the underground which isn't really walk able. The public transit is great but it would have been nice to be a bit closer.”

“I could not sleep at all because of the noise from next door. I reported twice this problem, but the staffs could not control it and they said to me that the manager of this hotel is now sleeping. I am really disappointed with this hotel.”

• We loved the steam room and loved the bedding!
• The restaurant seemed overpriced for what it offered.

“We loved this hotel. The room was spotless and the beds were awesome. The spa was just phenomenal. Finding the place was a little tricky but we also didn't have the best map in the world. The Subway was close and made downtown easy/ quick to access. If you are on any kind of a budget there is a grocery store and cafe nearby.”

• They don't give to us a treatment such as tourist, they were hostile with us all the time except an afternoon lady.

“Is not good for tourists. Located far away from the Munich town, room interior are so small. Front desk people, were, hostile, rude, we felt discriminated all the time, except for a front desk lady in afternoon. They don't give us breakfast.”

• Pool was not kid-friendly- too deep, not close enough to the airport, shuttle to airport was expensive for a family of 4.

• Staff was friendly, coffee early in the am, prompt shuttle.
• My twin bed was not comfortable at all. The size didn't matter, it was the comfort level.

“Take 5 minute taxi from train station. Typical Marriot Hotel with indoor pool. Helpful staff. Within walking distance of old part of town with shopping.”

• A perfect location near to the international airport with very good relaxing facilities.
• No vegetables at breakfast. Wi-Fi internet is not free.

“This is my third business stay in this hotel. A perfect location 10 minutes from the airport and 25-30 minutes from the center of Munich by car. Comfortable rooms, pampering spa, extremely polite and effective hotel staff, quiet area, reasonable restaurant but relatively expensive (20.00 Euro for a buffet breakfast). To conclude - an ideal hotel for business travelers.”

• The waitress didn't give me back the correct change and I had to ask for the money back.

“Too far from Munich center. Pool, Sauna and Steam shower were closed for renovation until 2008. There was no coffee maker & hAir Conditioner at my room. I had to call to get these every night for 5 days. Front desk was friendly but, room service wasn't.”

• The beds were incredible; very comfortable.
• The shuttle service is subcontracted, expensive, and was not very efficient upon our arrival.

“Convenient for a lay over at Munich Airport, and cheaper than the Kempinski. The distance is about 20 minutes, which was farther than I expected, and the arrival transfer was just terrible. The hotel itself is of the typical Marriott standard with excellent bedding and bathrooms.”

• The entire staff went out their way to be friendly and helpful.
• Somewhat away from main attractions.

“This is truly an outstanding hotel. The staff goes out of their way to make you fell comfortable. Location is somewhat out of the way from major attractions but the German transportation system makes up for this short fall. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone.”

• The concierge was amazing! Very helpful and considerate.
• The internet did not work 1 morning, but the hotel didn't agree to refund my full payment for it.

“The place is clean and quiet, which is important for any hotel I stay at. And the staff was incredible too. They really made us feel welcome from beginning to end. And it has made me think more highly of Marriott as a reliable chain. I recommend this place for sure!”

“Fine, vanilla hotel. A distance from downtown Munich, but a convenient subway is a short walk away. Concierge could have been more available/helpful. Very nice to have complimentary coffee/tea in the morning in lobby. Rooms have all requirements.”

“The hotel was in a cute town for activities but close to the airport for an early flight. The public areas were kind of beat and the whole property just didn't seem nearly as good as what I expect from a Marriott.”

• Dining choices too American.

“The Munich Marriott is beautiful, modern, and well-located a few miles from the city center, and right near the English Garden. The room was large and well-appointed, with a functional, if spare, bathroom. The availability of a king-sized bed in a European hotel was particularly noteworthy. Proximity to public transportation was also a big plus, although dining choices in the neighborhood were sparse.”

“Hotel was very clean, comfortable and updated. Cost was reasonable considering hotel rates in Munich at or near the airport. But the savings come at a price. At least a 15 min drive from the airport & there is a charge to use the shuttle. Plus, there is a 15 to 30 min wait for the shuttle.”

• The bedding and pillows were outstanding!
• The access charges on the telephone, ouch!

“The hotel is located 15 minutes from the Airport in Munich and 30 minutes by the S-bahn (train). You are close to downtown. The hotel caters to Americans and has several nice restaurants inside. There is a pool and lots of amenities. There is a small bar fridge in the room. It is very clean and quiet. The bedding was spectacular! I highly recommend this hotel.”
