Alethea from Brighton, MA
“Great location downtown. Had to push to get a room with a window, but then decent. Helpful front desk staff, but terrible breakfast service. They ran out of many foods and did not replace them at 9 am. Blankets and beds were very basic. Good water pressure. A little noisy on main street, but 8th and 9th floors ok.” Jul 6, 2005 by
Rosie from Winter Park, FL
“My room was small and cozy. I was given the option of smoking or none but not sunlight or none. My room was pretty dark and sad. The bathrooms were spacious and pretty. Great water pressure and tub dimensions.” Jun 27, 2005 by
Philipp from Dortmund, OH
“Nice Hotel in the middle of Madrid! Lovely and modern rooms!” Jun 26, 2005 by
Sally L. from Palm Harbor, FL
“Nice hotel in a great location at a reasonable price and with a friendly staff.” Jun 12, 2005 by
Sylvia from San Diego, CA
“Overall, we liked Tryp Rex Hotel in Madrid. That was the reason we stayed at Tryp Hotel in Cordoba later on the trip down in southern part of Spain.” May 18, 2005 by
Kay from Berlin Germany, DE
“3* tourist and business traveler hotel of the good spanish hotel-chained solmelia” May 17, 2005 by
Lori from Del Mar, CA
“A good bargain, and close to public transportation so easily accessible. Also, within decent walking distance of most major Madrid sites. Although the rooms are small, they are comfortable.” May 16, 2005 by
Lou from Bath, PA
“Decent for price paid. Staff was horrible, could not get a straight answer about anything. Everything cost extra, where other times in this level were included. Was fairly clean and good location.” Apr 10, 2005 by
Jim from Largo, FL
“This hotel fully met our expectaction as a 3* hotel in Spain; in fact it was better than several 4* we stayed at.” Mar 15, 2005 by
Puneet H. from Richmond, VA
“well located hotel with good rooms. I had asked for a single queen bed, but there were only 2 singles stuck together.” Dec 23, 2004 by
James B. from Vermilion “The hotel is a typical 3 star hotel. To reach the elevator I needed to go downstairs first with all my luggage. Gran Via is a perfect location in Madrid, which is the most beneficial characteristic about the hotel.” Dec 2, 2004 by
Jane H. from Bedminster “The customer service of the staff was very poor the people at the front desk were very rude. We speak fluent Spanish, so it was not a matter of miscommunication. The cleaning staff, doorman and bellhop however were fine.” Sep 19, 2004 by
Robert T. from Albuquerque, NM “The hotel was very nice - old, but renovated within the last few years. Seemed like everything was fine until we checked out, and they insisted that we pay them for the stay. We had prepaid so there was a lot of arguing between the front desk and I.” Hotel Representatives:
