• They put us on the top floor, with a balcony.

“Great location downtown. Had to push to get a room with a window, but then decent. Helpful front desk staff, but terrible breakfast service. They ran out of many foods and did not replace them at 9 am. Blankets and beds were very basic. Good water pressure. A little noisy on main street, but 8th and 9th floors ok.”

• the concierge was helpful, polite and caring. He took great care in helping me get oriented.

“My room was small and cozy. I was given the option of smoking or none but not sunlight or none. My room was pretty dark and sad. The bathrooms were spacious and pretty. Great water pressure and tub dimensions.”

• excellent location at good price.
• The lobby's wide screen TV was inaccessible after 11:30 pm, for late sleepers who don't wish to disturb their adjacent guests.

• The double room we ordered actually had a living room but no sofa only chairs.
• The hotel entrance is very small, we had to drag our luggages from the stairs down one level to the reception desk.

“Overall, we liked Tryp Rex Hotel in Madrid. That was the reason we stayed at Tryp Hotel in Cordoba later on the trip down in southern part of Spain.”

• Good facilities, close to metro station.
• Very small rooms.

“A good bargain, and close to public transportation so easily accessible. Also, within decent walking distance of most major Madrid sites. Although the rooms are small, they are comfortable.”

• Staff seemed uninterested in answering any questions.

“Decent for price paid. Staff was horrible, could not get a straight answer about anything. Everything cost extra, where other times in this level were included. Was fairly clean and good location.”

• It was very reasonbly priced for the heart of Madrid Spain
• All was fine

• the corridors and rooms need some maintenance work

“The hotel is a typical 3 star hotel. To reach the elevator I needed to go downstairs first with all my luggage. Gran Via is a perfect location in Madrid, which is the most beneficial characteristic about the hotel.”

“The customer service of the staff was very poor the people at the front desk were very rude. We speak fluent Spanish, so it was not a matter of miscommunication. The cleaning staff, doorman and bellhop however were fine.”

“The hotel was very nice - old, but renovated within the last few years. Seemed like everything was fine until we checked out, and they insisted that we pay them for the stay. We had prepaid so there was a lot of arguing between the front desk and I.”
