“This is not a 5 star hotel, and not suitable for the business traveler. Its location is convenient to the theater district, and is suitable for those needing a room for the night. Rooms are small, closets small. Internet connection an extra 19 British Pounds a night. The bar/lounge is positioned as a club, and only opened at 7 PM. Terrible service - no bartender at the bar; waitress went to kitchen bar service for drinks and it took forever. Loud industrial disco music - attempt to be trendy, but just annoying. Maybe okay for the 20 year olds, but to experienced travelers a joke. I would not stay here again, and would not recommend it.” Jul 28, 2009 by
Carrie from Guelph,Canada
“A fantastic hotel in a good location but I would not give it a 5 star luxury rating! It was definitely a 4 star however.” Jun 21, 2009 by
Trinita from Upper Marlbor,MD
“Great hotel, great hotel and overall great experience.” Apr 21, 2009 by
Dorit from Sunnyvale,CA
“Great location, luxurious rooms, very friendly stuff. The standard rooms are very very small, and can accommodate no more then 2 people.” Mar 2, 2009 by
Barry from Mission Viejo,CA
“Another post modern hotel. In about few years it will be very dated.” Aug 10, 2007 by

“Wonderful central location within walking distance of many attractions. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only minus was the rooms were small and a little cramped.” Jul 6, 2007 by

“Loved the location with short walk to park, esplanade, National Portrait Gallery, theaters, etc. Restaurant open late & dinner superb--try signature calamari salad, raw tuna appetizer. Drinks expensive but interesting. Continental breakfast was excellent but expensive @ 17 GBP each. Because of nighttime scene, good for mixed-age groups i.e., our 30's couple & 60's couple. Rooms were clean but impractically modern, i.e, you couldn't fit a glass under the sink faucet, outlet for hairdryer in doorway, only shavers near sink, door to bath also door to closet/hallway area so complete privacy required negotiation. Would return because overall clean, very quiet & good location.” Mar 27, 2006 by

“The hotel is a party hotel not appropriate for business travel. I was awakened in the early morning hours several mornings with late night partying as people returned to their rooms. Also, it's not set-up for quick check out. Very friendly and helpful staff, though. Good location.” Jan 22, 2006 by

“Although its trendy and fashionable. It doesn't make it unfriendly and a inefficient, which is often the case.” Oct 13, 2005 by
Keith from Kathleen, GA
“Excellent location, especially for attending the theater and having easy access to the Tube. Many restaurants nearby and a very helpful concierge made this a great visit.” Oct 1, 2005 by
Larry from Fairfield, CT
“Good location, friendly people, exceptionally small room. I don't think I would classify it as a 5 star hotel.” Jul 6, 2005 by
Douglas from New York, NY
“I did not like its pseudo trendiness. I will make it a policy to never stay at another Schagger hotel.” Jun 20, 2005 by
Tom from Darien, CT
“St. Martin's Lane Hotel was fun. It was a bit too hip for me and the TV were small. The in room amenities that could be purchased were way too expensive ($35.00 for a baseball cap) Phone calls to US were $7.00 per minute.Otherwise, the hotel served for location, modern conveniences, cleanliness and service.” Jun 13, 2005 by
Mark from Modesto, CA
“Location was outstanding, easy walking to Trafalgar Square, Parliment, even London Eye. Staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. Very clean and fresh.Mattress was too hard for comfort.Restauraunt prices encouraged looking elsewhere for dinning.” Jun 13, 2005 by
Pat from Henderson, NV
“Staff was extremely helpful & friendly, there was always someone to help you & always called you by name. rooms are some what small but very clean and interestingly decorated. beds are very comfortable. we liked the ultra modern decor. hotel was very nicely located for easy access to most major attractions. we would highly recommend this hotel. don't let the price deter this hotel is well worth the money.” Jun 2, 2005 by
Tish from Temple, TX
“great hotel, excellent staff, perfect location and very clean. The hotel had no room for us and we were actually bumped from our room the first night, as the hotel had a group of guests who decided to stay an extra night. But, the manager was very friendly and helpful, and they provided accomodation at another hotel and upgraded our room for our inconvenience. They handled the situation well.” Jun 1, 2005 by
Eugenio from Hidalgo, TX
“The hotel is very centrally located and within walking distance of most major sites. The overall theme is Minimalistic but it is taken to the extreme, so although its visually pleasing it really is quite impractical.” May 30, 2005 by
Charles A. from Littleton, CO
“St Martin's Lane Hotel is located a few interesting blocks walk from Covent Garden Market, few blocks from the tube stop and surrounded by great restaurants in all price ranges and theaters, clubs, museums, and the opera. The staff is wonderful and the rooms clean and comfortable. We are very particular about hotels, but thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.” May 30, 2005 by
Peter from New York, NY
“Edgy and well-located, this boutique property is worth a try for a different kind of London experience.” May 29, 2005 by
Marianne from Los Gatos, CA
“This is a very funky place...you'll either really like it, or detest it. I found the location highly desirable...lots of nearby theatre and restaurants, close to the underground station, taxis right outside the door at all hours, and a terrific restaurant (Asia de cuba) in the hotel itself. I found the complete lack of natural light in hallways, elevators and the lobby bar a bit disconcerting and the lobby furniture is pretty trippy. My room was quite small, but comfortable nonetheless. They let me check in early, which was great after an international flight. Having wireless network access was convenient, but very pricey at about $30USD/24-hour period. All in all, the hotel was fine, but I certainly wouldn't call it a 5-star hotel.” May 29, 2005 by
Bill from Washington, DC
“You too can party like it's 1998. If AbFab's Patsy and Eddie decided to open a hotel, it would look like the St Martins Lane. Like the TV series, a whiff of dated trendiness hits the senses upon entering the hotel. The service is nonexistent, the technology in the rooms is Dot Bomb Era, and the furniture is Ikea without the class , durability and dignity. If you like sleeping on cheap sleeper sofas, you'll love the beds at the St. Martin's Lane. All this can be yours for 240 British Pounds a night.” May 21, 2005 by
Owen from Wynnewood, PA
“Among the most unusual hotels we've stayed at. It was ultramodern, with marble entry area and bathroom. The only seating in the room was a small plastic chair, but it was inaccessible behind a lovely, backlit marble parson's table. - We could lie on our 6th floor bed and look out over the city. - I'm not sure I would quite give it a 5-Star rating, although it probably was higher than a 4-Star. - The restaurant was trendy, chic, and delicious. - We would recommend it for the under-40 set with very little luggage.” May 16, 2005 by
Keith from Douglasville, GA
“Small Room. Un comfortable plastic chair. Hotel highly over-rated.” Apr 23, 2005 by
Mehrad from Tarrytown, NY
“gorgeous, Ian Schrage hotel located near Leicester square - chic, minimalist design” Apr 18, 2005 by
Damon from Washington, DC
“This hotel is top notch from location to service. The guest room had an interesting decor that was simple, but trendy. The hotel location was situated near major tourist attractions and near a tube station. Finally, the service and restaurant staff were great. Definitely one of the best deals I have gotten!”
