“Solid four star hotel with a great location, the hotel primarily caters to business travelers. It has a wonderfully central location.” Sep 24, 2009 by
David from Ridgefield,CT
“The lobby is small and ordinary, but the staff is efficient and friendly. The room was average size. No views. Good condition and clean. Excellent location for access to shopping and transport to other parts of town.” Aug 25, 2009 by
Katrien from New York,NY
“When in a busy town like London, it is really great to be able to come to a quiet place after a day in the rush. If only they could do sth about the ticking noise that came out of the airco (5th floor room). It woke us up teh first night; We swtched it off but then it got realy hot in the rooms. (weather was exceptionally hot when we were there).” Oct 6, 2008 by
Natalie
“We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is clean, comfortable with great bedding and in a great location, across from the park and on the main shopping street. It is also next to an underground stop and within walking distance to many places, we enjoyed the 30 minute walk to the theater in the evenings.” Sep 29, 2008 by
Dave
“Incredibly friendly staff, went far out of their way to make sure I was happy. The room was spacious, far bigger than any room I have ever stayed in London.” Sep 28, 2008 by
Jurij
“Generally a good experience with a few glitches as described above.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Stephen from Toronto, ON CA
“You must stay at the Marriott Park Lane. I have been to London many times and this hotel and staff go beyond their duty to make your stay enjoyable. The best stay in London ever. The location is convenient for the tube (Marble Arch).” Jul 16, 2008 by
Michael from La Jolla, CA
“Customer relations not good. Also, the upgrade to executive was overpriced. Aside from that, the room was small and comfortable. Room service was scary expensive (22 pounds for breakfast - $44 - that pubs charge $8-10) and so not really an option. Concierge and bell hops were great. Best I've had in any hotel.” Jun 11, 2008 by
Michael
“Excellent location for touring or business. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful and spacious facilities.” Jun 3, 2008 by
Jessie from Newbury Park, CA
“This is the best hotel we have ever used in London. The location is superb and our room was clean, comfortable and huge by London standards.” May 27, 2008 by
Yardena from Vancouver, BC CA
“Fabulous hotel. Anyone would want to stay there. We were thrilled. The room is huge for Europe--even for North America. Great value and pure luxury.” May 13, 2008 by
Audrey from San Diego, CA
“Great location close to tube, clean, new rooms and outstanding customer service!” Apr 16, 2008 by

“Very nice hotel, clean rooms, extremly friendly staff. Very close to shopping areas. Ground transportation is only half a minute away from the hotel.” Mar 30, 2008 by
Tom from Arlington, TX
“Located just right off the metro near the Marble Arch so it is very convenient to get anywhere in the city. Staff are extremely friendly with excellent service. However, not many free amenities are included in the price such as Internet or breakfast.” Mar 26, 2008 by
Lefant from Rockville, MD
“I don't think the doorman should have to go find someone to work the front desk. When I am checking in after 4 pm I expect there to be a room available and not have to wait 30 minutes. I don't like having to tell staff repeatedly I don't want to wait in the cafe where they can forget about me. I don't want to listen to staff discussing their problems with their job while I am waiting. I don't like having an opinion survey placed on my pillow every night. I like to get wakeup calls I ask for. Never found a hair dryer but had a wooden box with a shoe bag on my bed every night.” Mar 6, 2008 by
Alan from New Rochelle, NY
“I was very pleased with the hotel. The staff was great. I loved the personal wake-up calls. Great location, nice pool, great large flat panel TV. Near great restaurants. There isn't anything that was disappointing worth mentioning. I wish they had a sauna. For my travel and business needs, this was perfect. I hope come back frequently.” Mar 5, 2008 by
Jeff from Oakland, CA
“It's a Marriott upgraded to 5-star status. Clean and nice, but still a Marriott. I'd say 4 stars. Hotel said one was not available but did find one in the end.” Feb 25, 2008 by
W Geoff S. from Plainfield, NJ
“This is a very nice hotel and the staff was wonderful. We requested a King size bed on arrival and they were able to accommodate us.” Feb 18, 2008 by
Sue from Los Angeles, CA
“This is a high quality small hotel in a great area. Although the rooms are small, if you can get into this hotel with a discount, it is a great deal!” Feb 14, 2008 by

“Large, comfortable rooms have comfortable beds and attractive bathrooms. You are 50 steps away from the Marble Arch tube station, and a 10 minute walk to the best of Oxford Street shopping, including Selfridge's, Marks and Spencer and others. The gym and pool are an unexpected and welcome extra. Overall, the look and feel is generic Marriott, there is no older English feel at all.” Feb 13, 2008 by

“Extremely well maintained and staffed, however staff seems to be selective as to who gets serviced.” Jan 21, 2008 by

“Excellent hotel. I highly recommend.” Jan 20, 2008 by
Heidi from Jessheim, FL
“Very good location. Bigger room than normal in London. Swimming pool, very nice - it was free. Quite place, and next to Oxford street and the tube. But this hotel was one of the best.” Jan 18, 2008 by
Alan from New Rochelle, NY
“The hotel was wonderful from the time that I got out of the taxi. Doormen and porters were very helpful. Room was large, good desk for working and great lighting. Room service (breakfast and late dinner) was very good. Great location for underground and bus service. This was perfect for me for business. Great pool, but I would love a whirlpool and sauna.” Jan 18, 2008 by
Mark from Austin, TX
“We stayed at the Marriott Park Lane for 4 nights in January 2008. The location is fantastic-very close to Buckingham Palace and around the corner from a Pharmacy, McDonalds and Underground stop. The first room we were given was nice but the bed was horrendous. It had a huge dip in the middle. We ended up switching rooms in the middle of the night because we just couldn't sleep in it. Management handled our situation well and we were very happy with our second room. The hotel was nice and quiet, the staff friendly and the rooms were nicely decorated and maintained. It was a very nice hotel, but I would not classify it as 5 stars (we stayed at the Dorchester in London the night before, now that is a 5 star hotel). However, we had a good stay at the Marriott Park Lane and would surely recommend it to others. One plus is that it had American electrical plugs in the room in addition to the British ones. A couple of downsides- First, the breakfast buffet. It wasn't very good and it cost $40 for one person (the exchange rate is very bad right now). Also, the concierge was not very knowledgeable about some of the activities we were interested in, so you really need to do some of your own homework. But, overall, it was a very nice hotel.” Jan 17, 2008 by
Tom from Arlington, VA
“Nice hotel on top of Marble Arch tube station. Very large room (Huge by London standards) Very nice staff. Modern bath with big tub and heated towel bar. Helpful front desk, doorman and concierge. All cable channels plus London and US papers each day. Decent and reasonable restaurant (140 Park Lane) and very good independent Asian restaurant on site (very popular, reserve early). Hard to wrong here.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 14, 2008 by

“Lovely location, small rooms, very clean, maids knocking at all hours, only minus.” Jan 8, 2008 by
Karen M. from Victoria, BC CA
“Hotel was excellent particularly for London. Workout facilities good and pool was beautiful. Staff were professional and friendly. Very good with children. Location was excellent.” Jan 8, 2008 by
Klista L. from Trophy Club, TX
“The Marriott Park Lane is in an excellent location and very close to the famous Oxford Street. Our room overlooked Hyde Park and the Marble Arch. We have a large room with a King size bed. The bathroom was nice with a lot of space to put your toiletries. The staff was very friendly and nice.” Dec 26, 2007 by
Jess from Bellevue, WA
“Boutique without pretension; not swarming with pushy businessmen; abundant courtesy and attention from a most professional staff.” Nov 9, 2007 by
Esther from Beverly Hills, CA
“Do not miss staying at this hotel. A wonderful experience from start to finish never had a better nights sleep on their wonderful beds.” Nov 3, 2007 by
Silvia from Toronto, CA
“This is a wonderful hotel in an excellent location for exploring London. The room, bedding and toiletries were superior. The pool was very relaxing and the staff was friendly. I don't know if the hotel was understaffed but there were several problems with the front desk. The internet was down and this caused problems for confirmation of flights etc. We ordered wakeup service and this happened later than ordered. To make up for this we were sent a basket of Danishes and juice. We really loved this hotel and would love to stay there again.” Oct 27, 2007 by
Bob from Boothwyn, PA
“This is a nice, comfortable hotel with an excellent location and a friendly (if a bit inept) staff (for example, we were given incorrect information to something as simple as the location of the closest bank). However, the hotel is by no means a five star hotel. For instance, there is no close comparison in the level of service, comfort and "professionalism" in this hotel as compared to a real five star London hotel like Claridges, the Co naught, Blakes, etc. I think the hotel is a nice four star facility.” Oct 25, 2007 by
Heide from West Hollywood, CA
“If you are just passing through London and need a decent place to stay and not concerned about budget, this hotel is ok. Amenities do not coincide with the price per night. Staff not very helpful. Would not stay here again, or recommend.” Oct 19, 2007 by
Staci from Point Roberts, WA
“Wonderful - we stayed in three room - two adults in each room- the accommodation were great- the staff was very helpful and we ate a cute little diner 1/2 away every morning -- great lattes- all in all I thought it was a major value for London. The cab drivers in London are awesome. Cheers Staci Campbell.” Oct 11, 2007 by
Darren from Redmond, WA
“Well-appointed and adequately sized rooms; furniture appeared new and room was very clean. Small but attractive lobby and check-in area. Very conveniently located just feet from Marble Arch tube station and Oxford Road shopping. Staff was pleasant and helpful. I appreciated small touches like fresh flowers and burning candles in the lobby area. No in-room WIFI and I could not connect through the room's Ethernet cable. WIFI in the lobby cost #15 ($30) per day, which is excessive. Few non-hotel restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 10, 2007 by

“I found this hotel just perfect for those who need to stay in the heart of London!” Oct 7, 2007 by
Derek from West Hollywood, CA
“Nice quiet room, and fairly convenient, but not as much as you'd think considering it's on the corner of oxford St and park lane. Real entrance is not on park lane but a street around the corner, taxis don't know it as much as you expect. Nice staff, horribly expensive breakfasts but that's London for you 20 pounds for the full English breakfast too much even as a pound charge to someone earning and spending in pounds.” Oct 7, 2007 by
Parul from Chicago, IL
“The location served our travel purposes very well. It is an expensive hotel but not luxurious or extra fancy in anyway. The pool/gym area was very nice. The lobby was fine and the restaurant/bar was nice. Excellent bartenders. The room sizes were typical for a Marriott and probably considered large by London standards. However, there was furniture damage in the room we were in. The veneer on the TV stand and armoire was peeled off in spots. Two chairs were broken. The TV was old. I've had flat screen TVs even at 3 star hotels. The cost for internet services were outrageous as well as the phone service prices. I don't understand why expensive hotels charge for internet services at all much less $30.00 per day. The staff was professional but not overly friendly. The beds and pillows were decent. Location was the best thing about the hotel.” Oct 6, 2007 by
Bia from Bend, OR

“Quite convenient to Hyde Park and oxford street. Very nice.” Oct 4, 2007 by
Doug from Los Angeles, CA
“The rooms are larger than average for London, and cleaner and far more inviting than average. The staff is fantastic - better than any American hotel. No views at all from my room - the hotel was advertised as a 5-Star, but it is not. I would rate it at 4 stars. The restaurant & room service are extremely overpriced, even for London. But it is very close to underground & bus lines, you can get to business appointments or shopping in minutes, and Hyde Park is right across the street.” Oct 1, 2007 by
Ben from Vancouver, BC CA
“Didn't request bed type, but they take in a rollaway crib. Told them to bring after 6 pm, but when we returned at 8:30 pm, it is still not there. Had to call to request again. But they were prompt to bring it over.” Sep 26, 2007 by
Michael from Pittsford, NY
“The Marriott park lane is a well located five star hotel near Londons marble arch; it is convenient to bus and tube stations. The hotel staff is uniformly high quality; they are friendly, helpful, well trained, and very competent. The rooms are of nice size and are very comfortable. The ambiance of the hotel is first class. I will stay there again next time I am in London (which I hope is soon).” Sep 23, 2007 by
Paul from Chicago, IL
“Convenient to the tube off the marble arch station, convenient to Hyde Park across the street with a bus stop out the front door.” Sep 18, 2007 by
Thomas from Baltimore, MD
“Very nice, great location, I could not be happier.” Sep 16, 2007 by
Matthew from Pebble Beach, CA
“Nice hotel - for the price I paid, would have liked them to care that the television didnt work first day and had to fight to have them fix the internet bill (several problems with it). Support staff great, lady behind desk let a lot to be desired. Great location.”
