• Good confortable beds.
• too far from the city.

“Would not recommend this hotel if you are planning on staying more than one day. Hotel did it's purpose to have a good night rest. Do not use the internet, very expensive, and don't bother eating there.

• The bed was very comfortable and the room was very attractive and new.
• It was a long way out from the main part of the city but taxis are relatively inexpensive in Lisbon.

“Nice hotel with helpful, friendly staff. Nicely renovated and very comfortable beds is on the top of the hill and next to a motorway so very noisy on the balcony but double glazed windows. No real views of anything just other buildings. It is close to the airport.”

• Not much for star level and price. Definitely would not stay again. Could not of been farther away from city center. Close to Catholic University.
• Unfriendly staff. Lack of English channels on TV. Bed not great for 4 star. Way too far from city center. No whirlpool. Pay movies were $25 US!

“Rude staff. Far from city center. Not many amenities. No coffee or tea in room, no fridge, no whirlpool/hot tub (all I wanted after 20 hours on plane) no spa services, crappy workout facility, I could go on but not worth my time (I a.m. on vacation). Sandwich and desert for $35 US too expensive, not even close to 4 Star level, would not stay there again. Did I say rude.”

• Awful location, prices for "extras" exorbitant.

“Very high quality hotel in an awful location for those w/o cars. To attract clients, hotel must drastically discount room prices, but makes up for these by charging extras every time you breathe. Costs for phone, internet, restaurant, pay TV absurdly high.”

• Isolated-need taxi for getting out.

“The Marriott Lisbon is a comfortable, clean hotel, but not as nice as other Marriott's that we have stayed in. The bed was luxurious, but the bathroom looked a bit tired and worn. In addition, it's a bit out of the way and the concierge staff only recommends taking taxis rather than walking. Even though we walked a bit outside the hotel, there were no interesting restaurants or shops in the area and the metro was a bit tricky to find. The hotel is okay if you want a quick ride to the airport or are in Lisbon on business, but there are more interesting places closer to the center for a similar cost.”

• The friendliness of the staff was excellent. The hotel met all my expectations.
• Price of room service a bit too expensive. Location is away a bit, but taxis are affordable.

“Hotel is top-notch. Beautifully decorated, great views of the city, and friendly staff. I was very impressed. Beds are the best in the industry. I slept like a king. The lobby and lounge area were awesome. I stayed for New Years Eve and I could not have picked a better place to stay. A bit away from the main Downtown area, but it is only a short taxi ride away.”

• It was clean.
• Even on the flakiest, most out of date maps could this hotel be considered part of "Central Lisbon".

• Good service, sift beds and an ice machine!
• Room somewhat small.

“This business orientated hotel is located just south of the Lisbon airport. A great spot to stay at before an early flight. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the first ice machine we had in seven days. This hotel is located in a high rise corporate and apartment area with no charm. It seemed too removed from the historic center of Lisbon.”

• Well appointed rooms with balcony and in a fair location.
• The location is not as convenient or the neighborhood is very walk able.

“This property is not in the most convenient or historic location, but it is certainly safe and comfortable. We did walk towards the old town our first day, but it was adjacent to a highway so not entirely a pleasant walk for the first 10 minutes or so. The taxis are very reasonable (Id say cheap) in Lisbon. Its about a 12-15 minute taxi ride to the waterfront. The property is typical Marriott, well appointed and modern. Most rooms have balconies and the grounds are quite nice with a pool. The restaurant is quite nice as well and we enjoyed a great breakfast the day we left Lisbon. A train and subway station are close by and I certainly recommend taking the train to Cintra - that place is beautiful (but prepare lots of tourists!). The staff at the Marriott was very kind and helpful. In summary, I have to say that the hotel was in a fair location and I certainly would recommend it to anyone.”

• Friendly service, high standards, and great value for money.
• No internet access without paying. They could offer Wi-Fi in the lobby as do many other hotels.

“Very good standard of Marriott comfort. Staff especially friendly and attentive, also efficient. Room was fine, bed was exceptionally comfortable, and bathroom was also good. Plenty of TV choices, both in English and other Europeans besides Portuguese. Pool was also fine. It is a little isolated from other activities, but since taxis are very reasonable and the metro is 10 minute away, this is not really a big issue. They keep a high occupancy and there is a lot of life around the place. Overall, very pleasant and worth the price paid. I would not want to pay full rack rate; however, as there would be other better choices. They offered us an extension at 180 Euros per night, which I found too expensive. But we both liked the place very much.”

• The hotel is a bit out of the way from the center of the city; about 15 minute walks to the closet Metro station.

“This hotel was very nice. Clean with a very friendly staff. We dined at the hotel restaurant and the food was good, but found it a bit pricey, considering Lisbon has so many great restaurants at far less of a cost. The hotel is a bit far from the city center, and the closest Metro station is about a 15 minute walk. Luckily, they always have Taxis available. I will say the hotel is convenience enough to the airport. I would stay there again, and you can hardly go wrong with it.”

“This hotel shined miles above the 5 star resorts we stayed at in the Algarve in all areas of cleanliness and service. When I returned 5 days later and asked if they happened to find these articles - all cash and the book were returned to me. I asked if they new who the person was that cleaned the room and turned in these items to lost and found. They told me her name and I promptly wrote a note and gave her a finder's fee. This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and the best Marriot. By the way - I am 55 years old and a business owner that travels regularly.”

• Easy on/off main highway. Close to airport and 10 min walk to the beautiful Lisbon zoo.

• It was busy and the staff (concierge) was a great source of information.
• The location was a bit out of the way from local metro stations. It was hard to climb up a hill at the end of a day of travel.

“Overall great value. The hotel is out of the way from the public transportation - the metro station is up or down a hill but there is a bus stop next to the hotel. On the date of my departure to the airport, there was a citywide strike. The hotel should of made arrangements - rented a van or hotel limo- for the guests to get to the airport without having to worry about the availability of a taxi. The head manager was present, and reassuring, but he did not have any resource to offer except his apology that a strike was occurring on the date of your departure from his hotel.”

“Nice, quiet location hotel that obviously caters to groups based on the number of tour buses and large groups of people in the lobby. Away from the lobby, however, very quiet. Had a two room suite with two bathrooms and two balconies. Hotel was too far from city sights to be able to walk to anything, and no other restaurants or stores were around the hotel, mostly apartments. The staff were very friendly and courteous, and taxi service was prompt. Several shops in the lobby and an ATM machine made things convenient.”

• It was close to the airport & although it was not in the city center, a 5 euro cab ride away.
• Our only complaint was with the television! There were not many English speaking channels. The movie channels were very expensive.

“The hotel staff was wonderful. We loved the beds. What a nice way to come in after a long day of traveling or sightseeing. It is within walking distance of one attraction, the gulbenkian museum, but a cab ride to other sights.”

• Internet charges are 30euros a day. About. Ten times what ail says are high costs for internet use.

“Smoke, smoke, smoke. There is smoking in all public places. It is a quiet hotel, and the beds are extremely comfortable. It is far away from everything, so you'll have to take a cab or train to any destination, save the zoo or two museums and a park (about a km away). Some of the bellboys are amazingly helpful. The information from the concierge is unreliable. We were told there were buses returning from abide much later than the last bus actually left. Luckily, we asked for a schedule from the bus company.”

• 24 hour workout room was great. Late hours for pool was also great.
• The price of food at the restaurant was outrageously expensive! $16 dollar cheeseburgers!

“Approximately seven Euros for a cab ride to the historic part of town. We had a rental car so the location, near to the airport, was fine for us. Wonderful mattresses in the beds, overall very nice rooms but stay far away from the high prices at the hotel's restaurant! $16 dollar cheeseburgers! Convenient hours for workout center and swimming pool.”

• Out of center but well connected very convenient hotel for the short stay traveler.
• No shuttle from the airport to the hotel.

“A very convenient typical hotel chain kind of hotel, very practical if you don't mind taking a subway to the center. It will take you about 15 min. to get there and they are easy to operate and seemed safe. The hotel is close to the airport. A good point to start and end your trip to Portugal.”

• The hotel was built to US standards and met all our needs.
• Outside noise from a large highway nearby.

“I found this hotel met all our needs in Lisbon. In that we had a bit of American culture in the hotel to make our stay relaxing and un-stressful. On the negative side, the tourist attractions were not close and we used a taxi to get about to the tourist spots.”

• The staff was very friendly and helpful.
• The hotel is not situated anywhere near downtown.

“The hotel's interior needed some updating and work, especially in the bathroom. I was on the 16th floor and there was a pungent smell of sewage throughout the hallways, especially at night.”
