“The views were great, large balconies. Amazing pool, nice beach, great location. Right in the hotel zone. Nice rooms. Very friendly. A must stay!”

• All rooms towards the ocean. Very nice pool and beach facilities.
• A little sloppy cleaning at times.

• Great service and beautiful room with a view.
• Cleanliness of pool and pool restrooms needs improvement.

“This was a beautiful hotel with wonderful rooms (very comfortable beds) and outstanding service. The lobby and pool area were beautiful. Three restaurants to choose from on hotel grounds. The spa was beautiful and I recommend visiting the indoor pool. Hotel was close to public transportation and outside restaurants and activities. The pool and pool restroom needed a little attention.”

“It was a great place, and an unbelievable value. The hotel's staff was the nicest I've been in contact with - couldn't have been better. Example - after a run down the main road, the doorman had a cool scented towel for me as I came in. Great place.”

• Very clean, friendly staff and awesome pools!
• The food at simply seafood was just ok. We had the all you can eat lobster buffet and most of the lobster was overcooked.

“Great place to stay with the family. Most of the people at this resort were traveling with young children, very family friendly. The bathroom was really nice in the rooms and the view from the rooms is unbeatable for the price. Overall a great resort. If you are going diving use manta divers! We dove with scuba Cancun for our first dive and it was a cattle call!”

• The room beautiful and the bed and linens were amazingly luxurious.
• We didn't realize 866#'s were considered international calls and made a very expensive 10 minute phone call.

“The rooms are beautiful. The bathrooms are luxurious. The views are great. We had a very romantic last night in Cancun. We couldn't have asked for more.”

• Beautiful property - pools, rooms, views all excellent.
• Beach was being replaced - it was lost to hurricane.

“Great hotel for a great rate. Only issue was the beach was largely wiped out by the hurricane last year & in process of being rebuilt as of 2/24/2007. Still a great hotel at a phenomenal rate.”

• All pools were heated which made it much more enjoyable. We would not have been able to use the pools otherwise. It was too cold for a couple of days.
• The bed was uncomfortable. The television had no sleep timer. Both minor, but something I would have liked.

“Excellent location with easy access to the bus line in Cancun. The beach front was small, but very relaxing and enjoyable. The entire hotel (lobby, rooms, pools, fitness center) is upscale and attractive with a friendly, accommodating staff. It was a barging at twice the price.”

• The staff goes out of their way to help you and tries to make your stay comfortable.
• The bellman lost our sports equipment and then started demanding money for finding it. They ask for tips when it is not appropriate.

“If not for the "beach improvement" equipment (two excavators and a bulldozer) running all sunlight hours twenty feet from the pool deck pouring horrible diesel fumes. This would have been a great stay. I was disappointed to find this happening on one of the busiest travel weeks of the year. Poor planning? The use of the beach was out and the water in front of the hotel disturbed and roped off. Club 91 could be better but the staff was great and very helpful.”

• Great location and very attentive and friendly staff. Room was very nice, with marble bath and new furniture.
• Nothing.

“I just loved the j w Marriott Cancun and would return in a minute! All rooms overlook the ocean and have a balcony. The pool was beautiful- there were several of them interconnecting. All the staff went above and beyond. Food was excellent (but pricey, as can be expected at this level). It was perfect!”

• Exquisite, elegant hotel with very friendly and efficient service. Tea time is a special touch. Infinity pool (heated) is marvelous.
• Internet charge on the networking (daily $20), shore rocky washed away by Wilma, not very comfortable to walk on rocks to go dip in the sea.

“At your first impression as you enter, you find this hotel not very inviting, but coldly elegant. The more time we spent there the friendlier the hotel became. The art pieces are tasteful. You always find little hidden treasures throughout the hotel. The style of this hotel caters for the middle age and above. Even though you had seen some children but the generalized age is rather 35 and above. The service is very efficient. The room is comfortable and spacious. Down comforter, and soft feather bedspread made our stay heavenly. The only thing I did not care for is the mat trace being too soft and rather full size than queen size. The bathroom is beautiful. I wished the shower had either a hand held version or another shower head for your lower extremities. All balconies facing the sea. What a sight. The beachfront thanks to Wilma had been washed away. Very narrow beachfront with multiple rocks on the end. The Marriott next door and the palace next door had better beaches. A little walk there and no more obstructing rocks. Our experiences were overall extraordinary. Thank you all for making it possible and affordable. The price was right!”

• Clean, new, friendly, luxurious, relaxing.
• No direct access to town but short bus ride.

“Fantastic resort! Good for families, couples and business travelers. Don¿t expect the 'Mexican' feel as this is an American style resort. Nicest hotel on the hotel strip with very nice facilities (spa, pools etc.) Absolutely recommend it!”

• Only a shower in the room.

“Beautiful hotel right on the beach in Cancun (hotel strip). Not near many restaurants/night clubs, but has nice restaurants within the 2 hotels. Excellent room with a beautiful view of the water/beach. Only complaint was that the room was handicapped with no bath (only shower). Tried to change room but couldn't.”

• Incredible service from hotel employees; stunning fitness facilities.
• For internet access.

“The service throughout our stay was amazing everyone was friendly and efficient. The suite was huge and luxurious, the views amazing. I have rarely experienced nicer fitness facilities the lap pool was also lovely. The outdoor pool area was also lovely. This is a great resort in general. Note that food here is very expensive and you will be exposed to a lot of drunken Americans, but if these things don't bother you, you couldn't do better than the jaw Marriott.”

• Concierge hit or miss with accurate information. Construction next door noisy.

• Spa facilities and ocean view, plus friendly staff.
• Signal for wireless internet access was weak in the room.

“The hotel has beautiful ocean view. The exercise facility, spa and indoor swimming pool are very well maintained and free for guests. There are quite a few stores in the hotels, including a very large gift shop which also serves as a convenient store (very convenient). Prices in all these stores are very reasonable (online or cheaper than those at upscale store in the city) while qualities are very good. We dined at gusting Italian restaurant in the hotel, and that was first class experience in terms of food and service while the price is surprisingly reasonable. Staff throughout the hotel is very friendly and efficient, though the business center personnel¿s need better English training. Overall we enjoyed our stay at jaw Marriott.”

• It would have been nice if it had a golf course.

“J.W. Marriott has done more work than most in restoring their hotel back to its original self after the hurricane. They were far ahead of other hotels for cleanliness's and a great staff. We all enjoyed our stay very much.”

• Accommodations equal to other 5 stars I've stayed in. Service from staff far superior.

“I've stayed at the Four Seasons in LA, The Ritz Carlton in Chicago and the El Conquistador in Puerto Rico just to name a few. The accommodations at the J.W. Marriott were just as beautiful as any of them. What made this the best hotel/resort I've vacationed at is the staff. This was by far the most courteous, professional and accommodating staff of any place I've been in the world.”
