• Beautiful, clean hotel with excellent pool and beach areas. Mexican restaurant was superb.
• Contemporary Mediterranean restaurant was overpriced.

• I had no expectations and was pleasantly surprised.

“We were here only one short night. However the lobby was beautiful. It made you feel as if in the rain forest. All employees we came in contact with were very friendly and courteous.”

• The recently redecorated room was beautiful.

“This is a beautiful hotel with a very nice pool area and a good (though narrow) beach with palapas right on the sand. The only problem I had was that the concierge was not willing to suggest any way to get back to the airport other than paying the very high fixed price for the hotel taxi, whereas in fact there are several much less expensive options. Also, the restaurant prices were high, but that's true in all of the resort hotels in Cancun. I really enjoyed my stay.”

• First stay was beautiful.
• Poor accommodations; leaking shower; A/C did not work; poor linens on bed.

“A/C not working well; shower head sprayed entire bathroom; bed linens not as nice and bathmat torn; balcony door locked behind you, trapping you on the balcony.”

• Staff was wonderful.
• Do not use the phone! I had to call my bank in the US and spoke for 7 mins. It was very costly.

• Great atrium, live music, very warm and cozy set up for such a large hotel.
• Service by pool or beach non exsistent. Definitely not the Ritz Carlton.

“Overall, I was pleased with the quality of this hotel. Much nicer than the omni and better. Great spa facility and amenities. I would return again.”

• Gorgeous, luxurious, and comfortable.
• Liked everything.

“First walk in is breathtaking with foliage and other decor. Convenient location right in hotel zone. Beautiful, clean beaches are swimable. Pools are sprawling and lovely. Accommodations top of the line.”

• Nice pool, reasonable breakfast with good variety.
• Unfriendly staff, poor table service at dinner.

“We were here middle of July. Hurricane Emily came thru the area. Prior to the hurricane strike, the staff seemed lazy and not attentive to the needs of guests both at the beach or pool area. The dinner wait staff were not near as friendly as we had at the Moon Palace, that was a top notch facility. At the time the hurricane came thru, the staff was poor to inform guests of possible storm updates, unfriendly and this was the worst vacation resort we have ever experienced.”

• I was there during a hurricane. The staff was excellent in making sure guest were taken care of.
• I had to add a night because of the hurricane. I paid a premium rate for the extra night

“I was in Cancun for the hurricane. The hotel put guest up in their ballroom in a very organized fashion. Games and movies were provided for the kids. It was so secure that I felt totally safe. The staff had all meals well organized. While it was not usual hotel fare it was much better than had I been in a community shelter. Outstanding manager!”

• Very good staff and service
• They should respond to issues faster, since they are charging 5 star prices

“The stay was very good. The hotel is way better than the Hyatt (where we stayed last time). The pool is awesome, as is the beach!! The Service Royal was a good upgrade, they took good care of us in that part of the hotel.Too many mosquitoes in the lobby area of the SR wing though...”
