• Convenient, public areas were nice.
• Supposed welcome lady hit us up for timeshare.

“They insisted on showing us our rooms which hadn't been cleaned yet to try to persuade us that we needed something better. They also said that we would be on the side of the hotel (facing another hotel) which was ok for the price we we're paying, but they said it also might get noisy over there. When I still declined the upgrade, they set up us in the rooms they had shown us (after they were cleaned) and it was in a section normally reserved for spring break college students. It was indeed noisy with kids running up and down the halls all night.”

• The pool area was great! Swim up bar and clean water.
• The drinks are $8 each which is a little pricey.

“Candelas were a great hotel and exceeded my expectations. I loved our room, the pool and the lobby area. All of the staff were super friendly and ready to help. I couldn't have asked for a better stay! And I couldn't beat it the rate I won. I definitely recommend!”

• Beautiful location. Nice facilities.
• They were too aggressive at pushing their time share. Dishonest (misleading) approach.

“The hotel is very nice and I would certainly enjoy staying there again. I would not allow them to lure me into a long time share presentation again. When I attempted to leave the presentation, they proceeded to tell me how unintelligent I was for not joining. The rest of my stay was great. Just no time share presentations please.”

• Hotel and grounds were beautiful and well kept.
• Women's restroom by beach/pool had toilet issues.

“Our visit here was first rate. Beautifully landscaped grounds, friendly and knowledgeable staff, comfortable beds, wonderful beach restaurant that was a great value, fabulous beach, lots of lounge chairs in both sun and shade (nice!). We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends.”

• Spacious pretty lobby. Several pools.
• Strange constant odor in lobby and hallways of gas/lighter fluid. Bathrooms very small.

“Hotel was very nice. My children though it was pretty but a bit sterile as there was not much activity. Nice pools. On the beach. Courteous staff.”

• the pool and the location
• poorly maintained rooms, inconsistent customer service, overrated

“THis was a one star hotel at a 4 star price. Peeling paint, broken air-conditioning, roaches in the closets, broken room safe and broken ice machines throughout the resort. Arrogant management, heavy selling time shares, inconsistent service - it was all bad. The pool is lovely, the rest of it fell way below expectations. I would not recoomend this hotel, unless you like paying a lot for a sub-standard vacation experience.”

• Proximity of the ocean
• Room was not ocean front as expected; pool hours were very short

“This hotel was a lovely building, with great staff, located on the beach in Cancun. The grounds featured two pools, both inviting; however, the hours for pool access were too short to be useful. There are two restaurants on site: one was buffet style and very reasonable; the other one was overly priced and stuffy. I would recommend this hotel, and I would return again at some future date.”

“It was truly a wonderful experience! The staff was nice, the view was great, the beaches were the cleanest I've ever seen (they had a night crew just to take care of the grounds)! Our room was big, the hotel restraint food was wonderful and fresh and service was PROMPT. Although hard beds are a usual hotel expectation our stay in such luxury made our impression on Cancun pleasant and enjoyable.”
