• Beautiful view from the hotel, excellent location.
• Our room was smoking room although we requested non-smoking. Outrageously expensive parking at the hotel's own garage. $50/night!

• The staff and trainees had that extra confidence which allowed for an enjoyable series of interactions.
• Temporary locations of Executive Lounge due to reconstruction.

“Although the Budapest Marriott is a 1970s hotel in layout, it has been modified to meet the highest standards of 2008. The location cannot be improved upon, and the quality of food and service was on a five-star level. The real proof of excellence is that I met three trainees who were almost as good as seasoned staff members. When I return to Budapest, I will want to stay here again.”

• Every room has a view of the Danube.
• Outside parking was too expensive. No American channels.

“The location was in the middle of all the famous places of Budapest. The decor was modern and inviting. The food was mouth-watering and original. The view was magnificent. The room was clean, spacious and cleverly designed. All amenities were available. The bed was the highlight of the stay. Fluffy but firm, we had the best night in over 2 years in Eastern Europe.”

• The rooms were quite classy and beautifully decorated.
• The doorways were very small as well as the entrance hallway to the room.

“We enjoyed our stay and the view of the river. The hotel staff was quite polite and accommodating. The staff did give directions twice that were incorrect, that truly were our only complaint.”

• Location is perfect for the tourist in Budapest. Rooms are fabulous and very comfortable, all with Danube views.
• Hotel currently undergoing some remodeling but only a slight impact.

“The Budapest Marriott. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and relatively large, by European standards. Flat screen television, with stations in a wide variety of languages. Only drawback to the hotel was remodeling underway. Impacted the lobby and mezzanine areas primarily. But this was only a minor inconvenience. Loved the bar 2 for 1 drinks from 5:00 p.m. To 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with incredible appetizers available. Location of the hotel is simply perfect for the tourist to Budapest. Great, helpful front desk and bar staff. Very highly recommended.”

“This hotel is fantastic. The views of the river and castle are amazing. The location is perfect for seeing the city. The hotel is being renovated, though, so expect some dusty areas.”

• The location and view.
• Construction starting at 8:30 every day except on Sunday, but we had a fire alarm instead of the construction on that day!

“The hotel was perfect: great room, view and location. However, there was big construction going on during our stay. They started at 8h30 and finished at 16h30 every day, except on Sunday. I asked to get a room less noisy and they answered me that they could not stop the construction and that it was as noisy in every rooms.”

• We were given a huge suite overlooking the river.
• The bed was very small.

“We booked a room for very cheap and were given a huge suite on the top floor overlooking the Danube. It was amazing. The bed, however, seemed more appropriate for a single business traveler even though we were told it was a "king-size" bed. There were also very big spiders near an open window across the hall due to renovations that was going on. When we told the concierge, the spiders were removed soon after. The room itself was spotless and the staff was very friendly. Great location too! Other than the tiny bed for two people, it was a fantastic stay.”

• Renovations going on were drastic.

“Hotel staffs were very supportive when one of us got scammed in town and fled to the safety of the hotel, leaving the scammers outside!”

“Great location right by the Danube river. However, wireless access was very expensive and they tried to add on charges. Breakfast was way too expensive. Also, if you bought a drink in the lobby, they charged an obscene amount of money. The room was very clean and the view was great but there was a cockroach in the room!”

• This hotel has a great location on the Danube and every room faces the river which is quite beautiful.
• The breakfast buffet is too pricey.

• Free coffee in lobby until 8 am but pot empty by 7 am.

“The Budapest Marriott is a very comfortable hotel well located in Pest. All guest rooms have a view of the Danube River including the Chain Bridge. It is very romantic at night to watch the parade of boats from the balcony of the guest room. The bed was very comfortable and the large bathroom included a tub/shower combination with lots of amenities.”

“Hotel has amazing view, all rooms have a private balcony overlooking the Danube River. Good location to walk around the city or hop on the nearest metro. The service was excellent and the staff very nice. The bed had 5 pillows, duvet, and a special mattress top that made it one of the best beds I have ever slept in.”

“We loved the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great restaurant suggestions. The rooms were lovely. Beautiful views of the Danube. We want to stay there again should we go back to Budapest. It was a great experience and we were very pleased.”

• Breakfast was not included, and very expensive.

“The hotel is located right next to the river Danube. The shopping street with lots of nice cafes and restaurants are just around the corner of the hotel. All the rooms have a balcony facing the river and overlooking the scenic Castle Hill. The overall standard of the hotel is very high, and the service is excellent.”

• Breakfast prices are high. Got stuck in elevator. Air conditioning ineffective.

“Convenient location on the river Danube, within walking distance of most major tourist attractions and great view over looking the Danube. Attentive staff and smooth check in and check out. Comfortable room and bathroom, although air conditioner not entirely effective in cooling the room. Breakfast prices seem high by U.S. standards, although the dessert buffet in the lobby is a bargain in comparison.”

• concierge was not able to get the train tickets we wanted so substituted an earlier time but did not let us know--

“It was beautifully situated for walking around town and the rooms were nice. Some staff were a disappointment at times and certainly didn't have the attitude that they were there to help---others were very nice but it affected the way I felt about our stay.”

• Very nice rooms, beautiful view, great fitness club, close to everything and exceptionally friendly staff.
• No plastic bags in the wastebins, fitness club was not very clean... Otherwise everything was perfect!

• The hotel has an excellent location and every room has a view of the Danube.

“The Marriott is an excellent deal for the price I paid. It is right on the Danube and right next to the main pedestrian area of Budapest. The hotel is constructed so that every room has a river view, and every room has a balcony. The rooms were very nice and clean, and the beds comfortable. I would recommend the hotel to anyone.”

• I honestly can't think of a single complaint.

“I can't recommend this hotel highly enough (especially for the price I paid!) The location is ideal - right on the Danube - within walking distance of shopping, major sites, metro stops, etc. The staff went out of its way to help in a number of areas, and nearly all of the hotel staff (except the occasional housekeeper!) spoke excellent English. Every room in this hotel has a large balcony and a stunning view of the Danube. The decor appeared fresh/new, the bed was very comfortable, and the room offered every amenity you could expect, (hair dryer, iron/ironing board, minibar, safe, etc.) In addition, the lobby/bar area was always lively and welcoming.”

“the hotel is very nice, good location. hotel services like internet etc, are grossly overpriced. the taxi drivers are extremely crooked and the hotel knows this and purposely says nothing, they charge guests 6 or 7 times the actual local rate and they do it picking you up in front of the hotel and is accepted, marriot should not allow this. great service in hotel by staff. hotel is clean, outside is nothing special but the view is fabulous.”
