“Hotel was clean, staff was friendly, food was average. The beach area was a deception. there was almost no beach and once in the water, it was very rocky, almost painful to go in the water without shoes.” Feb 17, 2009 by
Frank from Glen Burnie,MD
“The interior of the hotel and pool areas were fine. The restaurants were a real disappointment. Poor quality and selection including Buffet. Most disappointing was the condition of the beach. The condition was the result of a hurricane from several years ago and not a seasonal change due to recent weather. Will not stay.” Feb 11, 2009 by
Renee from Lineville,AL “This hotel was great, the beach area was a little small, probably not an ideal beach for small kids. The views were to die for. I would stay here again.” Feb 7, 2009 by
Jeff from Minnesota
“The Omni was great for a first-time experience in Cancun, but I don't think we'll be back. I think the Omni never quite recovered from the hurricane that wiped out much of Cancun a few years back. The beach was rocky and un-swim able. The pools were always freezing. People outside, enjoying pools and life disappears after 5:00 every day - there are only a handful of people in the restaurants, and the same in the lobby bar. Very dead, and we were by no means looking for a party. The hotel had a very must smell and everything in your room was constantly damp. Toilet never worked properly, and although we asked daily for it to be fixed - we were constantly told they'd send someone up, but it never happened. The food was something to be desired. The buffet restaurant was terrible. Its slop much like you'd remember from grade school cafeterias. DaVinci, the Italian restaurant was fantastic, but it's quite pricey, and if you're all inclusive like we were, they restrict the mount of times you can eat there. The one shining thing from the Omni was the staff. Always friendly, always attentive, and remembered us.” Feb 3, 2009 by
Elaine from Clinton,MD
“The hotel was an excellent condition. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and very pleasant. The location was perfect to catch cabs and public transportation. I truly recommend any person looking for a great vacation-this is the place to stay at.” Jan 27, 2009 by
Renay from Brighton,MI
“Loved the location. The property was very well kept and we had no pressure to go to time share meeting. We were approached once and we declined and no one bothered us again. Loved the restaurant and convince store across the street for our hotel.” Jan 18, 2009 by
Rudy from Chino Hills, Ca.
“From the location, to the staff, to the restaurants, to the rooms, to the beach, and to the service nothing Ive experience compares. Like stated earlier I've been a club member since 2002 and in the past 6 years I've seen the results of 3 upgrades to the hotel. Obviously management has made their guests enjoyable stay their top priority all while increasing their rates only 3 of the 6 years we have been members. I'm getting married in April and for our honeymoon my Fiancé and I are very excited to spend 2 weeks with the wonderful people and staff of the Omni as were always treated like royalty.” Jan 6, 2009 by
Kerry from Henderson,NV
“Walls are very thin, Maids drag furniture when cleaning room, doesn't help when you want to sleep in and the people upstairs have checked out.” Sep 12, 2008 by
Lisa from Paramus, NJ
“The Cancun Omni did not meet our expectations of the Omni brand. While the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and the main portions of the hotel were clean, we were very disappointed with the outdoor facilities. The pool was so dirty that you could not see your hand under water. The surfaces were slippery. Locations to pickup towels were not well marked. Children's pool did not offer easy access.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Ruby from Hill
“My husband and my son and I stayed at the Omni Cancun for a week to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. This is our first time in Cancun. We were not at all disappointed with the hotel. Check in was quick, bell staff was polite, housekeeping was very good and the wait staff was very attentive. I would not hesitate staying here again. I wouldn't rate the food as excellent - it was good.” Jul 24, 2008 by
Dave from Eden Prairie, MN
“Good hotel and location. Excellent staff - very attentive to our needs.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Alvin from Mctaylor
“I just got back from this hotel a few weeks and I must say. It was a great resort. Great for singles and couples. I regret going in late June I should have going during mid July, as they are preparing for high season and it looks amazing to what they are planning. This hotel is a must do again.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Cathy from Bridgewater, NJ
“Would have liked more shops around the area.” May 28, 2008 by
Calvin from New Paltz, NY
“Overall we're satisfied with the hotel. The restaurants in the hotel were excellent, but expensive. Receptionists were so nice and they were willing to accommodate with customers at any way possible.” May 4, 2008 by
Michael from Palisades Park, NJ
“Room was more what one would expect in a 3 star hotel. Service was horrible, from the front desk to the maid service. The lobby had no AC and one would sit there just sweating. Room AC was a little better, but not much.” Apr 21, 2008 by
Guadalupe Y. from Portland, TN
“Overall great experience. We had a.” Apr 18, 2008 by
Laura from New York, NY
“This hotel is excellent, everything you would expect from a resort or 5 star hotels. The room was beautiful, tiled marble floors were great and the room had a balcony. Unless you want to pay more the rooms will over look the lagoon instead of the ocean but it was still a nice view! The room was cleaned thoroughly each day and is morning beverages were brought on time everyday. I had a problem getting onto the Wi-Fi network but they were very helpful and the problem was resolved. The pools are really nice there are 2 main ones and then a kids pool and Jacuzzi, all are great. There is also a beach side pool and bar. The beach is nice, plenty of loungers but it are quite small due to Hurricane Wilma in 2005 and there are rocks which means that you can't really swim. We did go in to the ocean on one of the days when it was calmer but you have to be careful. Nicer rock free beaches can be found on the north of the hotel zone. Overall we had an excellent time and would recommend this hotel to anyone. Its on the quieter side for Cancun so ideal for families or people who don't want to be woken up at 4 am but party goers.” Apr 15, 2008 by
Martha from Ann Arbor, MI
“Hotel was safe, clean and friendly. Bus line was across the street and very easy to use.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Connie from Virginia Beach, VA
“We had a wonderfully relaxed vacation. I took scuba diving lessons on property at our pool, with an excellent instructor and then went out with a group that afternoon for our first 1 tank dive. Everything was handled by the Omni Resort and was seamless. On our last day I slipped by the pool and hurt my wrist. The hotel manager insisted on sending me and my husband to the local private hospital. We were driven by his assistant who stayed with us the whole time and acted as our interpreter. Turns out it was just a sprang as I suspected but the hotel picked up the bill. For our first trip to the Omni Resort in Cancun, we were certainly well taken care of.” Apr 10, 2008 by
Adriana from Vancouver, WA
“I would never stay here again, the room was very smelly, a dinner for two people with two entrees and two drinks and two deserts was $100, the quality of the food was horrible, service was slow and not customer oriented, the whole place was at best 3 star mediocre.” Mar 23, 2008 by
Bassam from Dallas, TX
“Overall a great experience until I got the room bill was there on spring break and was a good place in terms of not having to many spring breakers, every kind of person stayed there and were respectful.” Mar 16, 2008 by
Mehmet from Boston, MA
“Definitely it is the worst hotel that I ever stayed. Floors and rooms smell mold. Very poor service. It is very difficult to find someone who knows English and understands you.” Mar 6, 2008 by
David from Fargo, ND
“It is a nice facility with a cordial staff.” Mar 5, 2008 by
Dave from Renton, WA
“Nice hotel, but did not live up to it's 5 star rating. I would say it was a middle 4 star. The food was very marginal and we were thrilled we didn't get the all inclusive. Heard many complaints from other guests about the food too. Hotel was clean and staff was very pleasant.” Mar 4, 2008 by
Lisa from Seattle, WA
“I got a great deal on this hotel and was pleased. There is a good seafood restaurant right across the street and a bar with live music.” Feb 24, 2008 by
Dave from Loveland, CO
“The pool areas were large, but the lounges were taken by early morning. The exercise room was overpriced for what was available (esp. When they are free at the Hilton and the Marriott) Resort prices at the restaurants which were serving all inclusive quality meals, they need a separate for purchase menu. Rooms were ok, but very noisy! The marble floors in the rooms and in the hallway made it very noisy if any body was talking in the hallway. Not a place we will be returning to.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Rob from New York, NY
“It is not a five star or even four star hotel. They treat their customers badly, they are rude, and not helpful. This hotel should not be rated as 5 star and I should get my money back for this horrible experience. This hotel nickel and dimed people and they were just plain rude. My room had AC units below the balcony which were loud. It was a horrible experience from start to finish. They even had the nerve to try to charge me for a soda from the mini bar that they had emptied for me when I arrived. I had to sign two separate documents as proof I did not drink it. I was treated like a criminal.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 10, 2008 by

“Omni Resort is between Oasis and Hilton far away from the center of Cancun. Omni resort is mostly suited for families with children that enjoy quiet surroundings. The pools were beautiful and the beach access was easy. Even though the location is somewhat far from the malls and restaurants, the bus fare is 65 cents per person that will take you anywhere 24 hours per day. I transferred to Hyatt Regency for the last 4 days of my stay. Hyatt is a much better hotel with best location and view and even less expensive!” Jan 31, 2008 by
Sheila from Salt Lake City, UT
“Though I liked the check in person and the advice she gave me on taxis, I was disappointed that night in my room. The faucet leaked, and the shower only partially worked.” Jan 30, 2008 by
Gretchen from Hebron, KY
“This hotel did not stand up to all it boasted. My friend and I would give it a three and a half star rating at best. Our TV did not work properly and it was an older model. Our bed had no blankets, only sheet and spread. The bathroom floor was leaky and old. There was a thick layer of dust under the nightstand when I reached under it to retrieve something I dropped.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 30, 2008 by

“Hotel is representative of its 3 star rating. Did not eat at any of the restaurants. Lobby was somewhat gloomy, needs updating. Pool area was quite nice. Staff was attentive.” Jan 16, 2008 by
Donald from Medicinehat, AB CA
“A very nice hotel. The rooms had beautiful views of the sea & pool areas & were near a bus stop for going to other parts of Cancun. There is one restaurant across from the hotel but the rest were either a bus journey or fair walk to them.” Jan 14, 2008 by
Joel from Provincetown, MA
“Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great location. Breakfast was good, but I wouldn't want a long, all-inclusive vacation there, as I might grow tired of the food.” Jan 5, 2008 by
Joseph from San Jose, CA
“There was one day when housekeeping didn't clean our room even though we left at 8 AM and didn't return until 5 PM. There was another day when we spent almost the entire day in our room. We hung the Do Not Disturb sign but housekeeping still knocked on our door, more than once and even called us to ask if we wanted our room cleaned. Apparently the Do Not Disturb sign doesn't mean anything. At one point during the same day, the hotel decided to deliver a New Year's Day card and a disposable camera as a gift. When the guy knocked on the door and we didn't respond right away, he opened the door! Mind you we still had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. They did give us a complimentary breakfast beverage sign that we could hang on our door to place the order. On the other side of the sign, you could also order food. I ordered something and when room service delivered the drinks in the morning, they didn't deliver the food!” Dec 31, 2007 by
Albert M. from Winchester, MA
“Check in is a big headache.” Dec 30, 2007 by
David from Woodbridge, VA
“My expectations for this hotel were not met because of food quantity, selection, and quality. This would have been a poor choice as an all inclusive. Beachfront was poor quality when compared with other hotel beaches. Hotel management staff was excellent. We had several problems with "front line" staff but were eradicated by management.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 2, 2007 by

“This hotel was great. We enjoyed our stay. The bus stop is conveniently located in front of the hotel and for only .70 cents we were able to get to all the restaurant and shopping areas in Cancun.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 25, 2007 by

“This facility has friendly staff, a variety of great pools, and small but nice gym and spa services. The beach is rocky and the water rough. The regular restaurant menu is expensive and lacks variety, but the food is ok. Near to bus lines, water sports, convenience stores, malls and on the main hotel strip.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 21, 2007 by
James from Mint Hill, NC
“We had a wonderful stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The resort was always clean and its location was decent. We had a wonderful experience. Looking at the resorts online photos, I think the resort lost a lot of beach front after the 2005 hurricane season, but still it's not bad. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Oct 17, 2007 by

“Very nice room accommodations. Professional staff with manicured grounds and pools.” Oct 15, 2007 by

“It was a great place to stay. Can't complain. Well worth the money. The restaurants are not great in the hotel they are much better in town.” Oct 2, 2007 by
John from Cape Co, FL
“Nice place to vacation.” Oct 2, 2007 by
Lou A. from Lasalee, IL
“Service was prompt, rooms clean, excellent view, and easy access to transportation. Hotel was rated 5 stars and would have been in most locations. In Cancun there are hotel/resorts that are bigger, with more choices. In comparison I would call Omni 4 star.” Sep 27, 2007 by
Carol from Rancho Cucamonga, CA
“Only 15 minutes away from the airport. Very nice lobby, quick check in and helpful staff. Only down side, check in process includes a cash credit incentive to attend a 90 minute sales pitch about buying into their vacation club, and there are lots of steps which can be difficult for the aged or handicapped. I had an ocean view and it was wonderful. The beds were very comfortable. Word of warning, the marble floors in the room can become wet and slippery from the humidity and ocean air if the balcony door is left opened. Our clothes were damp most of the time as well as when we arrived home.” Jul 6, 2007 by
Patrick from Clayton, MO
“The omni is an excellent hotel at any price. My room was clean, modern, and perfect. Not a single complaint.” Mar 18, 2007 by
melanie from doncaster uk
“I first stayed at omni in 1998 and thought it was paradise. I have just been back to Mexico and vested omni and to me it is more then paradise. I am hoping to return next year and I wish to stay in omni¿” Mar 17, 2007 by

“The hotel is good to stay. I would like to stay again in the future.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 26, 2007 by

“Our stay at the Omni Cancun was great! The room was large and comfortable; the service was perfect; travel packages to local sites were convenient, fun, and a bargain; the food, especially with the all-inclusive package, was first class, delicious, and inexpensive. It was better than I had expected!” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Feb 15, 2007 by

“This hotel is appropriate for spring-breakers -- which are not a compliment. It is very loud during the day if your room faces the massive pool area (announcements, games, music). The housekeeping in our room was awful -- sheets not changed in four days, used towels taken away but not replenished so we had no hand towels, facecloths, etc. Is also located at far-ish end of main hotel strip, a long walk to most restaurants and shopping. The morning restaurant smelled awful, so every day we walked 15 minutes to have breakfast at le meridian or the Ritz Carlton. ” 0 of 2 people found this review helpful.Feb 11, 2007 by
