“Just got back from the Club Regina and it was horrible. They stole my daughters diabetic meter and jewelry from her bag in our room. The staff was aggressively trying to sell you a condo and after telling them that we already own a timeshare - they still would bother us on the beach and around the condo. The food was awful and the rooms were dirty and smelled like sewer.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 20, 2008 by

“I don't recommend buying a Timeshare at the Westin Regina Cancun! I am a 14 year timeshare owner at the Westin Regina in Cabo. In December 2008 I changed my week to the Westin Regina in Cancun. My experience in Cancun was horrible on many levels. I was told that the Club Regina was full by the front desk, but later found out that the occupancy was only at 30% and that the management didn't want to make an effort to correct their error. The entire experience was less unacceptable. In contrast I have only had wonderful great experiences at the Westin Regina in Cabo. In addition other problems involved: Being locked out of the room 3 times. Maids not cleaning the room 3 of 7 days. Currency exchange (they couldn't change currency using anything but small bills). Additional fees.” Dec 20, 2008 by

“The hotel was nice. I liked the design of the rooms, very tall ceilings and very clean looking. The hotel has the best pool/beach area. Multiple pools and many palapas for you to enjoy the shade.” Jan 7, 2008 by
David from Rockville, MD
“Because the hotel is located at the south end of the island, we were the first to be dropped off coming from the airport and last to be picked up before heading back to the airport. Real big plus when using the van taxi service. Access to other attractions such as the ruins are also south of the hotel and, therefore, easier to get to.” Dec 26, 2007 by

“The location is among the best for all of the hotels in the Cancun hotel zone. It has a very nice wide beach. The service, however, was below par.” Dec 18, 2007 by
Jose from Temple, TX
“Perfect spot to unwind! Away from Downtown partying but close enough to engage. Good food and great drinks! Awesome view of beach from room.” Dec 14, 2007 by
Valerie from Huntsville, TX
“Nice clean good location but restaurants overpriced n they charge u for every little thing. Not even a free cup of coffee in lobby. I would have to call more than once for any requests as they never did fix fridge in room.” Dec 10, 2007 by
Tony from Roselle Park, NJ
“Room was a nice size and had a porch, but the bathtub was tiny and did not have a whirlpool. Parking garage was free but very far away from the room. The parking garage has no elevator. Hotel was acceptably clean, but Ive seen well. Staff was friendly but did not speak much English. At times they were slow to respond. Everything cost extra, including the bottled water in the room and the coffee. This should be included, especially at the four star price levels. Ive stayed in Holiday Inns that are nicer than this. Next time in Cancun I will stay at Riu.” Dec 6, 2007 by
Alexis from Frisco, TX
“Very good hotel. Nice rooms if you are upgraded (if not upgraded you do not have balcony, which is bad compared to similar hotels in Cancun).” Nov 16, 2007 by
Joseph from Denton, TX
“It was a great place & staff was extremely friendly & helpful. Room 1515 was so damp, that our pills were melting. On second part of our stay we had room 1535 & it was better, although we asked for a dehumidifier & it helped. The beaches are raked daily & the place is gorgeous! Thanks.” Oct 1, 2007 by

“The Westin resort & spa (Cancun) is an older, but still lovely hotel, with multiple pool areas, fronted by a long, wide, white beach, with helpful and friendly staff.” Sep 21, 2007 by
John D. from Brownsville, TX
“Go to Cancun stay at the Westin and your driver should be lionile. He even took me downtown to eat great tacos. The people were great and the beach is perfect. The water was every color blue and the entire people visiting spoke anything but English.” Sep 11, 2007 by
Ellen from Pittsburgh, PA
“It was very nice, on the end of the hotel circuit away from the stores and restaurants. Beach was quiet. Had to take bus transportation to go anywhere or a taxi. Hotel did request us to attend time share meeting but we declined as we were on our honeymoon. They did not ask again. Hotel did move us to another wing away from construction, did not have king sized bed but did have a balcony at new room. Food & drink at hotel were very expensive.” Aug 19, 2007 by
Terri from Glenview, IL
“It is the 1st hotel in the hotel zone. Buses do not go here, so you have to walk to the 1st stop (a couple of hotels down). If you are looking for a hotel that is very quiet, this is for you. The pool was very old and the water hot. No music at the pool, in fact, no entertainment at all.” Jul 19, 2007 by
Robert from Huntington Beach, CA
“Avoid the Westin at all costs. The rooms are horrible. The rooms stink with a musty smell and the air conditioner is super loud so it is hard to sleep. Also, the facilities are limited. But the hotel staff is nice though.” Jul 12, 2007 by
Harold from Thornwood, NY
“Beach is great. Pools are fine. Staff is friendly, helpful and competent.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 7, 2007 by

“Excellent hotel. Views beautiful.” Jun 10, 2007 by
Beth from Atlanta, GA
“This hotel is beautiful and the location is at the beginning of the strip closest to the airport. It is the first stop by the Gray Line van service--and the last upon returning. The staff is accommodating and friendly. However, the hotel prices are extremely high. You will need to take a bus into town for food. The food is mediocre--again $15 for a cheeseburger and fries. It is nice in that there isn't a crowd at the hotel like most of the all inclusive resorts. It's the price you pay for the luxury and peace and quiet. The pool is beautiful. I did not see many patios on the rooms--they may only be on the first and top floor. I had a ground floor overlooking a garden. It was nice even though it didn't face the beach. Remember to take coffee with you! After the first day, you pay $4 per single hotel pack.” May 14, 2007 by

“This hotel is good for business or leisure and also it is very suited for couples who don't want to get caught in heavy traffic hotels.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 28, 2006 by

“We stayed at the newer building on the club med side. Our room has direct ocean front view so it was great. We're used to staying in suite so it took some mental and physical adjustments. The only thing that bugged us about the room was the toilet bowl with an unsightly yellow ring stain that was disgusting to look at every time plus the toilet wasn't mechanically in operating shape and leaking and definitely not expected for a hotel with the west in name. The location being near club med and the great coral reef was great. The staff clearly and sincerely tried very hard to do a good job. Being in operations management, Iżd say this resort's management talent could use some help, particularly in quality controls. There were some maintenance items in disrepair that shouldn't be missed for a west in named resort (e.g. The aforementioned toilet issue, burned out light bulb and battery-out door security card reader, etc.) The food was average and worsened in terms of value because of the small portion.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 25, 2006 by

“Hotel is somewhat over-rated from an amenities standpoint. Electricity out for maintains without notice for 5 hours. Charge $4.50 for a single cup pack of in-room coffee, $10.00 for a house tequila shot, and $8.00 for bottle of dasani water. Steaks were pricey and poor and made of mystery meat. Never again. Hilton and moon palace are much better.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 10, 2006 by

“Overall, the stay was good. The beach area was under construction, so it was not very scenic. However, when all of it is finished, I am sure it will be lovely. The staff was friendly and the heavenly beds were quite nice.” Sep 6, 2006 by

“The rooms were nice, look basically the same as the photos online. There were plenty of chairs by the pool and beach. The pool was very warm (almost too hot), but there were no Jacuzzi's open. The quality of the sand on the beach near the hotel was very bad - hurt our feet to walk around. They are rebuilding the beach due to the hurricane and it's far from completed. The view was obstructed by all the construction. We were disappointed that everything was extremely overpriced (breakfast was $240 pesos) so we had to leave the hotel to eat every meal. The food we did order wasn't that great either. The staff was very helpful. The airline lost our luggage and the ladies dealt with the airport and got everything delivered to us. They also recommended neat places to eat in downtown Cancun. The bus ride to bars/clubs was about 25 minutes (and we were in low season) and to downtown it was about 40 minutes. A bit far away from the life for us. The best part was the proximity to good snorkeling. We found a great cove south of the hotel that we could walk to and had a great time. The gym was nice, but open limited hours. Pools also close at 7PM, too early. Problem was that it was the first stop in the shuttle from the airport. The worst part overall was definitely the beach, hence why you can get a cheap rate but it may not be worth it for the crappy sand... find a cheaper hotel closer to downtown with better sand. We didn't really take advantage of the "5 star" amenities anyways.” 4 of 4 people found this review helpful.Apr 1, 2005 by

“We really weren't there long enough to fairly rate anything. We didn't eat there so I don't know how the food was. The beach is smaller there than at most of the other places in Cancn that we have been to but it was still pretty nice.”
