“The only I did not like was the cleaning of the swimming pool. Accumulates some yellow stuff on the stair that makes my daughter swimming dress spots for ever. Is the first time I see this in a swimming pool. We were in the Hilton in Cancun last Dec and never saw that. I complained to maintenance and they said was because the solutions, but that doesn't happen in other hotels.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Doug from Arlington, TX
“Great service, location and style. First class!” Mar 1, 2008 by

“It far exceeded my expectations with a large balcony at the edge of the ocean. The sunrise the first day was spectacular. The room was always refreshed very timely every day with friendly notes left by the maid. The staff was always eager to please with whatever was needed. The hotel common areas were beautiful with music in the lobby bar every evening. There were flowers everywhere with a wonderful smell to greet you every time you entered the hotel. The pool and beach areas were always well kept with plenty of chairs and lounges. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Cancun. We will definitely return to the Marriott Casa Magna in a heartbeat!” Feb 20, 2008 by

“We stayed here February 2008, Food is served cold, could not get clean towels the last 1 1/2 days. Locked out of our room after a long day out. Will not stay here again.” Feb 2, 2008 by
Terry from Austin, MN
“Although this ia a beautiful hotel the mechanical functions of this hotel are poorly maintained. Bathtub did not drain, toilet was leaking water on the floor, mirrors were dirty, and we found cigarette butts under the bed and full cigarette ash trays on the balcony. Upon complaining - no one ever showed up to clean or repair the problem.” Dec 15, 2007 by
Dan from Soquel, CA
“Would stay again; try to get room away from lobby.” Oct 18, 2007 by
Abdel from Miami, FL
“The rooms are not a Marriott standard especially in the bed comfort paid 18 dollars for internet connection for a day; this is an aberration in today's world. Out of the three nights twice I had to wake up with the landscaping tractor.” Oct 7, 2007 by
Buuloc from San Jose, CA
“Very disappointed stay. Something from the bed or towels causing the kids to be itchy. Room is moderate despite of being in newer "premier" ocean front room. The only good thing is the view of the ocean, but that would be the same from most of other hotels' similar category rooms. Would not go back to this hotel or to recommend to friends/relatives.” Sep 21, 2007 by

“Thou Cancun is beautiful in every aspect, its very pricey. I remember back in the day when something like parasailing in Cancun cost $15 dollars, nowadays that same ten minute ride costs $75 dollars.” Sep 11, 2007 by
carla from portland oregon
“The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Very beautiful hotel the room was very nice, a little small but didn't bother us as we didn't go there to spend time in our rooms, but to relax in the sun and enjoy all that Mexico has to offer. Very nice strip of beach very close to the hotel. Lots of restaurants to choose from, surely something for everyone. Really enjoyed the vacation and plan on going back to the grand oasis next year on vacation again.” Aug 23, 2007 by

“Beautiful hotel! Beautiful rooms. Staff was very helpful.” Jul 20, 2007 by

“Hotel is located approximately 20 minutes taxi ride from CUN A/P. local bus stops right in front of the hotel, for 6 peso (60 cents US) can get you to the heart of the hotel zone (near Hard Rock Cafe, and many good restaurants), busses run around the clock. Great Italian Restaurant (LA Dolce Vita) across the streets from the Hotel. Hotel's Sports Bar and Grill has delicious American/Mexican Fast Food for a reasonable price.” Jul 18, 2007 by
Karin from Phoenix, AZ
“Overall we were very pleased with our experience at the Casa Magna and would return. We never had a problem getting a place on the beach or by the pool. The staff was friendly and accommodating. If there was a concern or any issues staff made sure to take care of it and follow up with us to make sure we were satisfied, as was the case with the room cleaning issues as described above. The Japanese restaurant and the Simply Seafood restaurant were both good, however, the best dining experience we had was when we went next door to the JW Marriot and dined at the Italian restaurant. The service, food, and value were outstanding. I wish this restaurant was here in Arizona.” Jul 5, 2007 by

“It was amazing so I would want to come back.” May 29, 2007 by

“This was an overall great hotel, the staff were great! The only complaint would be the noisy club across the street that blasted their music until 3am.” Apr 19, 2007 by
Jamay L. from New York, NY
“The only issue occurred at check-in when hotel clerks and the manager told us that we had only paid for 2 guests and needed to pay extra for the third person. ” Feb 27, 2007 by
Lauren from Sun City West, AZ
“Lovely hotel, excellent service. Ask for one of the new room's right on the beach!” Feb 19, 2007 by
Murray from Sherwood Park, AB CA
“Per night which we were very happy to do. It turned out to be a very nice move for small cash amount. Very beautiful view and room.” Jan 22, 2007 by
Sriram from Ashburn, VA
“Overall we liked the hotel very much, though we did not have ocean view we did have a nice view of the ocean from the balcony. Only thing we did not like is very high prices for water and other beverages in the mini bar. Probably they can sell more if the prices are reasonable.” Jan 19, 2007 by

“Excellent hotel, beautiful setting. A bit pricey on the drinks. Family friendly and helpful staff.” Jan 7, 2007 by

“My family and I decided to splurge and spend money on a truly fabulous new year¿s vacation. Our travel agent recommended the oasis hotel in Cancun. We spent 758 for airfare and an all-inclusive 6 day hotel stay. 1) the hotel site boast "grand oasis Cancun is an exclusive hotel with the highest standards of quality "all but the main center building is still under repairs from the hurricane, and every hallway has water puddles coming from the sewer access closets (gross walking through and knowing your bringing that into your hotel room let alone the smell). 2) Of the three rooms our entire party occupied the air-conditioning didn't work in 2, the shower in one and the toilets leaked all over the floors in all three. All rooms smelled of mold, but one had the stuff visibly growing in the closet. 3) The hotel site says our "all inclusive" includes all non motorized sports, .aerobics. Tennis. and all activities organized by the animation team both during the day and at night with the theme shows. Well, in reality the you had to rent body boards at the beach of the hotel (the hotel said the non motorized sports included were to be found on the lagoon side down the road), there is not a gym on site, you had to rent the tennis rackets, we had been told the green fees were free we would only have to rent the golf clubs turns out they were (us) to rent! There was a list of activities however the free events were hard to find and you paid -45 for the night activities Anyone with a mold allergy became ill, and at least half our group came back with problems. There are so many more things to say about what went wrong with this stay but I will leave it with the fact that I will never consider visiting Cancun again, and will probably avoid Mexico all together for a long time.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.
