  • Very friendly staff.
  • Not a convenient location.

“Very hard to find when we were checking in because the new address is nowhere to be found. The hotel shuttle only runs every hour to the airport during weekends. The restaurant does not serve lunch and it's very expensive. No WiFi access in the room. But the hotel staff is very helpful and very friendly.”

  • The room was perfect. Great and loved it.
  • The location was very far and there was no cheap transport to the city or airport.

“Hotel is great. But it is way too far from the city and the subway the airport etc.
I had to pay for shuttle rides and wait until the shuttle was ready to go every time
I went anywhere.”

  • It was so far away from everything. Shuttle cost 7 euros one way just to the airport, which cost more money.

  • Telephone did not work for three days.

“I thought the hotel was accessible to the train line at Schipol via a free shuttle, however each day we wanted to take the shuttle to the airport it cost about $10.50 per person - for a 5 minute trip.”

  • Close to trains. Free Wi-Fi, no phone or lift. No frills, okay bed.

“I was traveling alone on business, on my dime. Needed Internet, a decent bed, a desk, and a decent price. This hotel was 2 blocks from Gare de Lyon and just over the river from Gare Austlitz - perfect location. The bathroom was fine for me but would never do for my wife - too small with no counter space. Quiet block and rooms. I will probably stay again. Ask for a lower room to get better Wi-Fi signal strength.”

  • Hospitality was first rate and it gave you a chance to meet local people.
  • The bed was not entirely comfortable.

“We really enjoyed staying with guests. We only wanted a charming place that would be near our daughter but we gained two new friends and some wonderful experiences and referrals. The breakfasts were great and we were given extra to make a lunch for later. Fresh baked goods were a yummy highlight. This B&B is near the Liberation Museum, hiking, and golf.”

  • Nice basic, business hotel for airport area.
  • It was a long way from the airport.

“This hotel is fine for travelers using the airport, but not convenient for tourists unless you are driving a car. The airport shuttle can be inconvenient, it operates on a strict schedule at it is a long way from the airport. You should also be careful about shuttle fees. Yes, shuttle fees! It is free to take the shuttle from the airport to the hotel, but the cost is EUR7 per person to go from the hotel to Schipol. That's OK for a business traveler, but a nasty surprise for a family of 4 using the airport. Be careful!”

  • Location. The actual travel by car is not 7 Km from the airport.

“Unless you have you have a car, I would not recommend this hotel. Public transportation is not easily available. Shuttle transportation from hotel to airport to take the train is too expensive 7 Euros per person.”

  • It's not really in the airport area!

“The hotel was good. I even felt that the person on the other end of the line wasn't even listening to me. I had to ask him a couple of times "are you there?" And it took him a few seconds to respond. I found language but not communication with your customer's representative.”

  • They upgraded us to a small suite very nice even though we basically just slept there!
  • It wasn't as close to airport as I expected.

  • A good hotel with friendly staff.
  • The location is far from Amsterdam city.

“The hotel is situated a bit far from Amsterdam city (it takes about 45 minutes in total to travel via public transport) but very near to the Schiphol airport. The location is good if you want to have a change from hustle bustle of a city location. Theres a huge lake at the backside and is very calm all around. For reaching the hotel, you can take a train to Schiphol airport and then either take a taxi (which are a big rip-off) or take the 300 number bus and get down at Overbos. Repeat for going to Amsterdam central. The hotel has good facilities and has a free shuttle service from airport to the hotel. It would have been great if they could have free shuttles to the airport too. All in all, a very good hotel to stay in.”

  • You had to pay for the internet if you didn't have a laptop but the hotel Boucher said there were two pc at that you could use.

  • Getting to the hotel - easy to find, hard to get to.

“Not really close to the airport, and while it had a restaurant in the hotel, and 3 others right next door (2 of which were not open on Mon-Wed), the food options were not great, even with personal transportation. Without transportation, it was quite isolated. Shuttle bus ran every 20 min, but was only free from the airport to the hotel, and charged EUR 7.00 per person (EUR 6.00 pp for 3 or more) to return to the airport (EUR $30.00 for our family of 5 was way too expensive - they should charge by the room - we were all going the same place, and it felt like we were being taken advantage of, with the lack of options). Amenities were great, and we really enjoyed our stay, and were pleased with the room and hotel. We were a little disappointed with some of the peripheral options and charges.”

  • Airport is far from the airport. They need to improve their shuttle service (frequency, size of shuttle and longer hours of service).

  • Quiet, clean, gave us requested non-smoking room, on the edge of a beautiful park.
  • With nearby restaurants closed, essentially limited us to eating in hotel.

“Very nice hotel located on the edge of a beautiful park. About twenty minute drive from airport. Location is such that without transportation one has an extremely limited selection of places to eat. Reservation charge for return to airport on hotel shuttle costs 7 euros for one person, 13 euros for two. There are frequent, free, shuttle pick-ups at airport to get to hotel. One way taxi charge is said to be 25 euros.”

  • Got a free upgrade due to late arrival and hotel being sold out.
  • Labeled airport hotel, yet charged money to shuttle to the airport.

“Got a free upgrade to a family suite. Very nice and clean with free internet. Excellent! Hotel shuttle was a joke. It's labeled an airport hotel, yet the shuttle departed every 30 min and charged 13 euros for the two including a child.”

  • The staff was very cooperative. They kept our luggage for free for a period of 12 days and we toured Europe in between.
  • They charge a fees for the shuttle where as other hotels have free shuttle service.

“Courtyard by Marriott was by far the best hotel experience me and my wife had in Europe. The rooms were very nice and the wash rooms were very modern. They provide you with free internet which is such a big plus which you cannot even find in big four star Names in Paris and Rome. Location is near the airport and airport is 15 mines train ride from the city centre which is something to think about for a leisure traveler.”

  • Convenient to/from airport, able to rent bikes at hotel, gorgeous lake and scenic area in back of hotel.
  • Not very convenient if you plan on going into Amsterdam to sightsee; no computer room; steep fee for shuttle bus service to/from airport.

“Beautiful hotel. Convenient to airport, not too convenient if you are planning on going into Amsterdam for sightseeing. (We were just returning to Amsterdam for a one night stay before flying back to the States) There was a charge for the shuttle service, that we were not made aware of and it was rather steep. The staff was friendly and reliable. Our room (s) were big and pristine. We stayed in a family room which was two rooms - one smaller (decent sized) room with two twin beds off of the main room which had two queen beds. The kids loved it! We were able to rent bikes at hotel and went for a long bike ride back behind the hotel where there is a big lake and several playground areas for children. The ride was amazing - unbelievably scenic and picturesque. It was a fabulous way to end our trip to Amsterdam!”

“The shuttle bus was not convenient - we had to hire a taxi to take us back to the airport - in total it was $80 in taxi fees. The shower in our bathroom was filthy with mildew. The staff was not knowledgeable about anything in the are.”

  • Super clean hotel in great location near Harlem, Amsterdam and Schipol Airport.
  • Infrequent shuttle service from the airport but the bus is available.

“Great hotel with a friendly staff. After stays in hotels in Prague, Budapest, Copenhagen and Berlin the Courtyard was heaven in comparison. Really clean, large rooms near a large park with a lake and a beach. Harlem is a short bus ride and Amsterdam is a twenty minute train ride. Adjacent to the hotel is a conference center with bars, bowling and restaurants.”

  • Clean. Big room.
  • NOT near the airport. Staff apathetic to airport access needs.

“The location of the hotel "Near Schipol airport". It wasn't even close (15 km?). Worse yet, the shuttle was not free (in one direction) and only ran once an hour. On the morning of our departure, we almost missed our flight due to the staff's inability to provide timely shuttle service or get us a taxi. We finally ended up walking several blocks to a bus stop and taking a local (multi-stop) bus to the airport -- with all our luggage. The staff should have been more helpful or at least warned us the night before that we'd be responsible for our own transportation to the airport in the morning. And based on the lobby full of other long-waiting travelers, we weren't alone.”

  • Beautiful park location by recreational lake and walking paths.
  • Too far from airport, this was not disclosed. Unacceptable night crew.

“Typical well kept attractive Courtyard Marriott in remote but gorgeous location. Nice though somewhat bare rooms. OK beds, have had more comfy. Major problem with shuttle: 7 seats running 20 to 40 minutes apart depending on time of day, alternative local bus... Not advised that there was a 7 Euro shuttle fee. Night shift is the pits. Room was not cleaned due to someone having hung a privacy sign on our door. At 11pm we waited 45min for service, and then were only given new towels, no implements, clean glasses, coffee supplies etc.. Day time phone calls were immediately transferred to us, night calls were either routed to reservations, or put on hold and never answered. Same night shift had us at the door at midnight unable to enter the building with our door key-card as instructed. It took several of us pounding of windows to get someone to finally let us in. No apology...”

  • Shuttle bus service requires a payment and it operate from the bus bay differ from the common hotel shuttle bay causing some confusion.

“The hotel window overlook a nice scenic view over the park. Good recommendation for honeymooners. For good Chinese food, head for the Golden Tower.”

“Close to the airport, clean, rooms were a good size. Amenities such as WiFi access but they did a bad job of explaining access then overcharged seriously if you used there equipment because no one could explain access. Ordering cabs or requesting other information staff were not particularly interested in helping. Rooms were booked months in advance but no effort to put the rooms close together.”

  • This hotel has an exercise room just like any hotel, however, it has sauna.
  • Secluded area, far from the center and airport and promo sounds too good to be true.

“The hotel location is not good, it is in a secluded area. The hotel is only for any type of business matters. For leisure travelers, it could still be good if the price is right to compliment the taxi fares or any type of commute for travelers. The promotion they are running (the unlimited pay TV and internet access in their business center) for a big savings was really a huge joke. The pay TV wasn't accessible during the time that I paid for, and the internet server was down. The breakfast was just okay, which was the only thing somewhat good I got from the promo. I paid the promo for nothing, basically.”

  • Exceptionally clean and quiet.
  • It is a bit isolated.

“Staying at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel requires some extra thought towards local transportation due to its distance from both the airport and downtown Amsterdam. On the other hand, learning to use the public transportation system in the Netherlands train, tram, subway and bus, will only add to your travel experience in Europe.”

  • High Quality Hotel, Friendly Staff.
  • Restaurants on a weekend not open, next door available.

“Hotel is primarily for business people, so on weekends, no restaurants in hotel were functioning. Nice, pleasant hotel, pleasant staff.”

  • The rooms were very clean and tastefully furnished
  • No coffee/tea in room and the shuttle was not free despite it being an airport hotel

“A very nice property although the amenities do not match up to US travelers' expectations. Everything imaginable is charged for and even the 'high speed Internet' provided in their business area must be paid for at the rate of EUR 5 for 30 minutes!”

  • It was hard to find

“We didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel, but it met all of our needs, we had a special request for a crib and it was delivered within 15 minutes, staff were very friendly. ”
