• It is near the Adlon so you can relocate without too much difficulty.
• It's a Steigenberger. That's very poor, oh and expensive. Go elsewhere.

“One of the best ways to assess a chain of hotels is to stay in one of the smaller ones. If the 4 star Steigenberger Mannheim is typical then there are better ways to waste your money. The basics for any hotel are that the room and bed are comfortable and clean, and that the food is good relative to how much you are paying. The Steigenberger managed a room too hot because the air conditioning was inadequate for the job. Room was not cleaned by 4 pm, no laundry and a poor breakfast. One of the easiest meals to get right. Worst of all was the attitude of the management who seemed to feel that there would be plenty more fools to pay 4 star prices for a woefully inadequate product. A shame because the location is great and the building good if a little characterless. Not with management like this. There are many good hotels in this price bracket in Berlin. Choose one. Or splash out on the Adlon who really do know how to do it.”

“German people have always been friendly even though I cannot speak their language. Fantastic food, fantastic accommodation, a truly memorably pleasant experience. Would recommend it to anyone.”

• Great location, wonderful staff, good restaurant, great value, best priceline 4 star I've stayed in a long time.
