“Shangri-La wing 12th (and 11th) floor has a VERY BAD toxic mold problem. They obviously have a leak somewhere and it was just unbearable. It made the whole stay NOT worthwhile at all. I was gravely disappointed. I had to ask to be moved 3 times before finally finding one that didn't reek of mold, (but reeked of cigarettes instead--non-smoking room). I would not stay there again and I would not tell my friends to stay there either.”

“I had been to the BKK Shangri La hotel in the past so I knew what to expect. Excellent hotel with great service (which even remembered my birthday and gave me a nice cake) in the best tradition of Bangkok. Its location is excellent with a great view of the river and away from the crowds that I have found in other good hotels in other areas of the city.”

“The new wing of the Shangri La was far nicer than the older portion of the hotel. Guests should definitely request to be housed in the new wing.”
