• Very comfortable, modern and excellent service.
• Location was not great although a free hourly shuttle to Downtown was provided.

“Very nice and modern hotel. Service was excellent and the hotel was very clean and well maintained. The location would be the only downside if you're there for pleasure. You need to take the hotel provided shuttle. Often had problems getting taxis to take us back to the hotel as the fare would typically be in the 7 to 10 Euro range and apparently not enough for the drivers! Overall a very good hotel and I would stay there again.”

• Great Rooms, terrific pool with acropolis view.
• Location is a bit out of the way; expensive internet.

• The room was spacious, KS bed very comfortable, happy to stay here.
• Our room was next to some sort of (air-conditioning) Shaft that was a bit noisy during the night.

“We were only there for one night, however the staff was friendly, who I'm sure went above and beyond her duty to help us get to the islands the next day in a particularly busy time. The room was very nice. Would definitely stay here again.”

• Large room well maintained. Attractive. View of Parthenon.
• Location. Difficult (traffic) walk thru an unattractive area.

“We were very pleased with everything about this hotel except the location. Being Americans, we wanted ice, and the hotel had an ice machine on our floor. Don't know if every floor had one, but one was enough for us. Robes and turn down service was supplied. Nothing was shoddy. Great bed with a one piece mattress. It was an excellent large hotel. We got a Parthenon view room without having to pay extra.”

• Big rooms, clean, beautiful.
• A drive from city center and a long walk from the metro. Most amenities incurred an extra charge.

“We arrived very late, after 2am, and were greeted by a very friendly and English-fluent clerk. Our standard room was beautiful (the view less so), with plenty of space and a luxurious king sized bed, quite a contrast to some of the cramped European lodgings we've stayed in before. The rooftop pool is very picturesque, and we enjoyed drinks and appetizers at the adjacent outdoor lounge.”

• Dining at the roof top restaurant looking over the pool and seeing the acropolis in the background was very magnificent.
• It was a 5-10 euro cab fare to get to any of the tourist areas and there were not other restaurants to choose from without taking a cab.

“The hotel was excellent. The roof top pool/hot tub and restaurant with a view of the acropolis in the background is stunning. The food at the hotel was excellent (but very expensive). It is about a 5-10 euro cab fare to get to any of the tourist areas and/or other restaurants. The room was quite small but well decorated and very comfortable. We had a very good stay at the hotel.”

• High-traffic area was not pedestrian-friendly.

“Great service and a very comfortable room. We had a non-smoking room, but we could smell smoke at times - the rooms need to be better insulated from other rooms in terms of ventilation.”

• Very clean. High Standards. Great Restaurants.
• Our last room was too small and felt congested.

“The Leda Athens Marriott Hotel is an upscale 4 star hotel. It was approximately 10 minutes to the center of town by bus or taxi. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service that departs the hotel every hour. The hotel has an excellent restaurant/bar on the rooftop with a very large pool and Jacuzzi. I highly recommend this hotel. Some rooms are certainly better than others so inquire in advance to accommodate your needs.”

• The rooftop pool had a view of the acropolis, which was awesome!
• It was inconvenient to get to the subway -- not a nice walk.

“Our favorite part about this hotel was the rooftop pool. Our least favorite part was the distance to the subway. There is a shuttle, but it only runs once every hour and not at all in the evenings. When you're on vacation, you don't want to have to wonder about the schedule! We ended up walking to the subway, which was a 15 min or so stroll through a not-great neighborhood with cars zooming by. Doable, but it would have been nice to be more in the thick of things.”

• The beds were very comfortable after the long dirty trip back to the hotel.
• The location makes it very difficult to walk anywhere and the taxis scam you for every cent.

“The hotel itself is newer, with comfortable quiet rooms. The rooftop pool is nice and the staff is helpful. The van into town is helpful, the walk is dangerous and dirty to the Metro so it's best to time your trips to the van times. All Greek taxi drivers scam you it seems, just something to keep in mind.”

• Outstanding room, great staff, great restaurant and servers.
• Desk Clerk when we checked out was totally unorganized.

“Hotel was outstanding. Everyone, with the exception of the desk clerk when we checked out, was exceptional. The desk clerk when we checked out couldn't find our folder, didn't have a taxi waiting for us (as requested the afternoon before), and was generally unorganized. Other than that, hotel and the staff were outstanding.”

“Good hotel with nice staff, comfortable rooms and good restaurants, but very far from Subway station and a lot of porno shops around the hotel. Recommend to use taxi always when you go to the center of the city and it makes this hotel inconvenient.”

• Not a very good location and staff not very helpful.

“The rooms are large and very comfortable beds. The location is not good. Nothing within walking distance of the hotel to dine or entertain. There is a free shuttle bus to the city center but I was not informed of this upon check in so I spent money everyday for a taxi to get to the city center. not a good location for sight seeing and the over all access to the city.”

• Nice rooms, ok location and lots of restaurant choices.
• Not convenient to walk to any outside bars, restaurants and coffee shops.

“I stayed in Athens for a week. 6 nights at Intercontinental and one night at the Marriott Ledra. The Marriott was 3x cheaper, and I really did not see a 3x difference in quality not even a 1.5x difference. If price is an issue, I would definitely recommend the Marriott. If price is NOT an issue, go to the Grand Bretagne.”

• Room was great, staff at check-in desk very helpful, view from roof fantastic.
• Concierge not around much, restaurant closed for dinner.

“We were very pleased with our room. We got exactly what we had requested a king sized bed, non-smoking room. The staff at the check-in desk was very helpful with money changing, directions, etc and taxis are always available. The hotel also has a nice shuttle service to the place. The concierge did not seem to be at her desk very often, at least when we needed her. The hotel is a little hard to find if you are driving on your own, but the view of the Acropolis from the roof is fantastic.”

• It is a new hotel with clean rooms.
• The hotel is too far from the city center.

“The hotel has wonderful accomodations for anyone wishing to commute to the city center and other attractions. The staff was friendly and eager to help.I would recommend this to anyone wishing to travel to Athens who does not mind taking a cab or the metro to the city center.”

• Very quiet, extremely comfortable beds, spacious rooms, roof top pool has a wonderful view of the acropolis
• Public transportation is not accessible and hotel is far from places to eat, sites, nice places to walk around

“Room comfort = A, location C- to D. There is a shuttle to downtown but it stops at 7:30pm. Not a good hotel for soaking in the city at the spur of the moment, more for retreating from the hustle and bustle.”

• Very clean and neat
• the location was a bit out of the way and Greek taxis are mainly thieves

“The hotel is well managed, immaculately clean, and pleasant. Be prepared to use the hotel shuttle to get in and out of downtown Athens, as the taxis are not always honest. Those who depart from the hotel are vetted and honest, but those who depart from other places to the hotel are rarely so, so be on your guard.”

• The Marriott new bedding policy is an absolute winner...the most comfortable beds in any hotel chain.
• One of the reception staff was not as friendly as she should have been.

“The beds.... absolutely fantastic. The Marriott has made their beds and sheets the best in the business. This has been a marketing coup for Marriott and really sets them ahead of the rest.”

• Very comfortable and cozy. Nice bathroom. Comfortable beds.
• I cannot think of anything I did not like.

“I had stayed at the Ledra Marriott before so already knew the hotel. The location suited us fine because we had to be in Piraeus early in the morning to catch a ferry and it was conveniently located for that. When we stayed there before we were provided a van to go downtown whenever we chose, so the location away from town was not a problem.”

• excellent beds
• no convenient public transportation

“Renovated earlier than other higher-end hotels in Athens, the Marriott is beginning to look slightly tired (noisy AC, worn furniture), and signs of budget cuts are evident: restaurant closed on Sunday, no free newspaper, breakfast order must be hung on door by midnight (ridiculously early by Greek standards), room service trolleys stay in hallway all afternoon, '2.50 a minute for European calls, one rather unhelpful bellman, borderline rude front desk, and lower rates than competitors, due to poor location (every other nice hotel in Athens has a tram or subway stop within a block).On the good side, the beds are excellent and the shuttle to Syntagma runs on schedule every hour, which is important as Athens taxis have made no progress in honesty, especially if hailed at Syntagma.”

“In as few as words as possible (for me) I am extremely happy with the Ledra Marriott Hotel. It has a wonderful and caring staff who seemed to really appreciate me as a guest. I felt safe and despite some uncomfortable incidents outside the hotel, the staff was caring and made my trip to Greece a memorable experience. I would glady recommend to visitors to Athens. ”
