• Great staff and nice rooms.
• A little pricey. It was really a 3 star not a 4 star.

“Great people, place and hotel. I would recommend to anyone and go there again anytime.”

• no complaints

“This was a lovely, traditional resort setting. We had tea on the veranda overlooking the race track and it was beautiful. The rooms were very clean, bed was outstanding , and the location was on the edge of the chaotic city centre which suited us well.”

• Good standard rooms and friendly staff. Quiet location near the York Racecourse
• There was a large refurbishment going on we did not know about. No noise, but parking was restricted.

“The York Marriott is a comfortable hotel about 2 miles from the centre of town. Frequent buses stop near the entrance, and this is much easier than trying to park in York. The hotel has an indoor pool/spa. Breakfast was comprehensive, and it was just finishing a major refurbishment so should be even better when we next go.”

• They accommodated an extra person without much ado. Pretty setting.
• The front desk personnel were not friendly.

“The hotel was outside of the city center, but in a quaint area. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of delicious foods. Our room met all our needs.”

• The service was fine.
• It certainly was not of the North American quality that I expect at Marriott as it was a bit tired looking in our room.
