“Excellent location for anyone without a car rental. Staffs at reception were friendly and allowed us to check-in early by upgrading our room. The upgraded room was on the 28th floor overlooking the harbor; well worth the upgrade price. We would definitely choose to stay here again.”

- The view of the harbor bridge and the concierge service were exceptional!

“This was a great value! I wished I would have spent more nights here. It is ideally located to the opera house and the bridge climb! All rooms have a view of either the opera house or the bridge. It is centrally located to all the main attractions and the circular quay city rail station which offers an easy commute to both the domestic and international air terminals.”

- Pool is under renovation-hence closed.
“A beautiful hotel in a great location. The hotel staff is very accommodating and eager to please. The room was beautiful; especially the corner rooms seem to have a great charm and are bigger. Attention is given to maintaining a modern, clean and cozy environment. Unfortunately the pool was closed, so the hotel could not show all its best amenities. Overall, the stay was very satisfactory and I would stay there again.”

- The location of this hotel is excellent, minutes from the Sydney harbor bridge and opera house, and just as close to the subway and ferries.
- We felt that the concierge was not helpful. We had two fairly routine and reasonable requests, and they did not help with either.
“This is a beautiful hotel right on Sydney harbor. You could not ask for a better location as a tourist. The rooms are nice and comfortable. We found the service, especially the concierge, to be somewhat lacking, and less friendly than we would expect from hussies but we would still jump at the chance to stay at this hotel again due to the location.”

“This hotel is in a great location. Near all public transportation, if you are traveling from the airport the train at circular quay is less than a block from this hotel. You will be within walking distance from the rocks and the Sydney opera house as well.”

- The location was wonderful, near the wharves, restaurants, opera house and bus tours.
- Elevators can be slow at busy times.
“Great price for this hotel due to great location. Only catch due to the price is city view, not harbor view. Sydney is a large city, so being near major transportation, ferries and tour buses was time saving as well. There are so many places to eat from cafes to harbor side dining all within walking distance. The staff, especially the concierge and bell man were very helpful. The room was very clean, spacious and comfy. Only complaint was the wait for elevators at the busy check out times, but the hotel is almost done with refurbishing them.”

- Concierge was not able to recommend things to do.
“The hotel was in a great location. The rooms were comfortable and clean. It seemed to cater slightly more to the business traveler over the leisure traveler but it was OK for us. The staff was very friendly and able to book tours we wanted; however, not able to recommend anything to do when we asked.”

- The beds were very comfortable; the shower was excellent. Very close to sites.
- The elevators could be slow at times.

- The location was absolutely perfect, 1 block from the Sydney harbor/opera house.
- The only minor complaint was that there was no fan in the bathroom, so it got quite foggy.
“I absolutely loved the hotel. It could not have had a better location and the staff was friendly and very helpful. The furnishings were simple, yet luxurious with nice fabrics, materials and touches.”

- The location couldn't be better. We got off the cruise ship walked one block to the hotel. All the transportation we needed was within one block!
- It would be nice to have ice-makers on at least every 3rd floor. It took awhile to get ice to the room.
“This was a great hotel. It is an especially nice place to stay before or after a cruise since the port is about a block away. Everything we wanted was within a few blocks of the hotel, all the ferries and transportation. I would definitely stay there again.”

- It was in a superb location.
- There was mold in the bathroom and a missing picture. They also billed us for the room and for unused bar items.
“We found the location to be ideal for walking around Sydney and catching mass transit. Other than the above mentioned items, we had a very nice stay. Oh, yes, we couldn't regulate the heat in our room at night. Being winter there, the heat came on and night and it got quite warm in our room.”

- Perfect location, comfortable bed, helpful staff, pleasant decor.
- Key card entry for floors in the elevator often did not work.
“I would love to win this hotel in Sydney again. We were treated lip VIP's, the room was large with a comfortable bed, lovely view. I wish the bathroom had a bathtub, the amenities were nice. It was the perfect location for us, one block from Circular Quay and the wharf. We walked to the Opera house, the park. Thoroughly enjoyed this trip.”

“One tries to be objective in every sense of the way, however we traveled around Australia for 2 weeks and all our hotel stays were in the Marriott's. First stop Melbourne, the Marriott there was amazing, felt more like a 5 star then a 4. The staff there was incredible, we mentioned to the check in clerk, that we were celebrating our 30th Wedding anniversary and by the time we got to our room a complimentary bottle of champagne was awaiting us. We stayed for 7days and were made to feel wonderful and welcomed. So, when we got to Sydney Marriott Harbor Hotel, it truly was a big disappointment had to change rooms, the bathroom was unclean and we had a constant sound of water rushing through the walls. The second room was not much better. Ac fan was broken and made a terrible noise, the vent in the bathroom door kept falling out, the closet door would not close so the interior light kept coming on. In fairness to the hotel we were offered to move again and they did offer to send some one to fix the problems but it was so late at night, that we were to exhausted. The staff in general had a lousy attitude for a 5 star Hotel and our stay there was the most disappointing one. I am sure others have had a great stay, however this hotel is NOT on our recommendation list.”

“The lunch & dinner buffets are great! Maintenance response is very fast. Concierge is very friendly and worked very hard to get me tickets for the Opera House. Internet should be free! It cost $5 for 30 minutes. Sometimes I only want to check if I have email and if not, I only need 2 minutes. Lots of hotel offers free internet and I feel a hotel like the Marriott should definitely offers it for free!”

We upgraded to an executive room for $99 AUD and the executive level is great. Good breakfast and light dinner food as well as wine, etc in the evening, all complimentary as well as great views of the Sydney Bridge on one side and the Sydney Opera House on the other side.”

- The fitness center was far too warm and the restaurant way too expensive.
“I loved this hotel! It was very convenient to the harbor. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfy. The fitness center was well furnished. I only wish that the air conditioning worked better in the fitness center. It was way too warm to be comfortable. The hotel restaurant was very good but extremely expensive. However, there are many great restaurants within walking distance.”

“We stayed for 9 nights and it was a great location in the Circular Quary area, with easy access to all trains/buses/ferries. Beds were wonderful and rooms were very clean. Concierge was very knowledgeable and helpful.”

“I don't think you can out do this hotel even comparing it to the Shangri-La or the Four Seasons. Room service is superb and quick. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. The fitness room is quite good too. Didn't try the restaurant though.”

- The hotel was very clean and beautiful.
- It seemed more for business travellers than leisure.
“This hotel was amazing. It met my expectations and exceeded it. It was in a beautiful part of Atlanta, the staff was friendly, and the room had everything a person could ask for. Words can not describe the view from our room of the city!”

- charged for internet access(even as gold member)
“Great hotel!! super location with great rooms and wonderful, helpful staff. The upgrade to the business lounge is a MUST. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and will return when in Sydney.”
