• Location. Nice, clean, decent view even of the city (not harbor).
• No refrigerator space without taking out your bottles that you sell.

“Would recommend it to friends. It is a big, business hotel, but we were just leisure travelers and it was great. The location is outstanding.”

• The location was absolutely perfect, 1 block from the Sydney harbor/opera house.
• The only minor complaint was that there was no fan in the bathroom, so it got quite foggy.

“I absolutely loved the hotel. It could not have had a better location and the staff was friendly and very helpful. The furnishings were simple, yet luxurious with nice fabrics, materials and touches.”

• The location couldn't be better. We got off the cruise ship walked one block to the hotel. All the transportation we needed was within one block!
• It would be nice to have ice-makers on at least every 3rd floor. It took awhile to get ice to the room.

“This was a great hotel. It is an especially nice place to stay before or after a cruise since the port is about a block away. Everything we wanted was within a few blocks of the hotel, all the ferries and transportation. I would definitely stay there again.”

• It was in a superb location.
• There was mold in the bathroom and a missing picture. They also billed us for the room and for unused bar items.

“We found the location to be ideal for walking around Sydney and catching mass transit. Other than the above mentioned items, we had a very nice stay. Oh, yes, we couldn't regulate the heat in our room at night. Being winter there, the heat came on and night and it got quite warm in our room.”

• Key card entry for floors in the elevator often did not work.

“I would love to win this hotel in Sydney again. We were treated lip VIP's, the room was large with a comfortable bed, lovely view. I wish the bathroom had a bathtub, the amenities were nice. It was the perfect location for us, one block from Circular Quay and the wharf. We walked to the Opera house, the park. Thoroughly enjoyed this trip.”

• Location is good and great view of the opera house from the right room.
• The rooms were tacky, staff unfriendly.

“One tries to be objective in every sense of the way, however we traveled around Australia for 2 weeks and all our hotel stays were in the Marriott's. First stop Melbourne, the Marriott there was amazing, felt more like a 5 star then a 4. The staff there was incredible, we mentioned to the check in clerk, that we were celebrating our 30th Wedding anniversary and by the time we got to our room a complimentary bottle of champagne was awaiting us. We stayed for 7days and were made to feel wonderful and welcomed. So, when we got to Sydney Marriott Harbor Hotel, it truly was a big disappointment had to change rooms, the bathroom was unclean and we had a constant sound of water rushing through the walls. The second room was not much better. Ac fan was broken and made a terrible noise, the vent in the bathroom door kept falling out, the closet door would not close so the interior light kept coming on. In fairness to the hotel we were offered to move again and they did offer to send some one to fix the problems but it was so late at night, that we were to exhausted. The staff in general had a lousy attitude for a 5 star Hotel and our stay there was the most disappointing one. I am sure others have had a great stay, however this hotel is NOT on our recommendation list.”

• Excellent location, friendly & helpful staff, Concierge service is great !
• Internet should be free!

“The lunch & dinner buffets are great! Maintenance response is very fast. Concierge is very friendly and worked very hard to get me tickets for the Opera House. Internet should be free! It cost $5 for 30 minutes. Sometimes I only want to check if I have email and if not, I only need 2 minutes. Lots of hotel offers free internet and I feel a hotel like the Marriott should definitely offers it for free!”

• This room was smaller than the one we had 2 weeks earlier.

“Friendly staff (although they never did bring the razor I asked for), beautiful location with potentially great views from your room. You can walk to shopping, food, and transportation from here.”

“Very nice hotel in a great location. I would recommend the hotel highly--we had a lovely room with a view of the Sydney Opera House. The only thing that put me off was the Internet surcharge which I thought was quite exorbitant.”

• Executive club room if you upgrade.
• No free internet access.

“Very convenient location within easy walking distance of the Rocks area and Circular Quay (where ferries and cruise boats leave). We upgraded to an executive room for $99 AUD and the executive level is great. Good breakfast and light dinner food as well as wine, etc in the evening, all complimentary as well as great views of the Sydney Bridge on one side and the Sydney Opera House on the other side.”

• The location, fitness equipment and bedding at this hotel were fantastic.
• The fitness center was far too warm and the restaurant way too expensive.

“I loved this hotel! It was very convenient to the harbor. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfy. The fitness center was well furnished. I only wish that the air conditioning worked better in the fitness center. It was way too warm to be comfortable. The hotel restaurant was very good but extremely expensive. However, there are many great restaurants within walking distance.”

• The management staff, concierge and desk staff were rude and unhelpful.

“This is a very fancy hotel. Most of the staff were snobbish and unhelpful. Our room service man, Ming, was nice as were some of the bellhops. This was a horrible, degrading experience.”

“We stayed for 9 nights and it was a great location in the Circular Quary area, with easy access to all trains/buses/ferries. Beds were wonderful and rooms were very clean. Concierge was very knowledgeable and helpful.”

“I don't think you can out do this hotel even comparing it to the Shangri-La or the Four Seasons. Room service is superb and quick. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. The fitness room is quite good too. Didn't try the restaurant though.”

“This hotel was amazing. It met my expectations and exceeded it. It was in a beautiful part of Atlanta, the staff was friendly, and the room had everything a person could ask for. Words can not describe the view from our room of the city!”

• Would like to see better wine and higher level food and canapés served in executive lounge.

• 1 restaurant, too expensive

“Beautiful, staff who are knowledgeable and courteous. they need a laundry facility, it cost me $33 to wash one load of laundry. need another restaurant, which is not as pricey/ in general, would recommend to anyone.”

“Hotel is just over a block from the train station and Circular Quay - very convenient. We checked in with no problems and our room was very nice. We had great service from all the staff and enjoyed our stay. A Post (post office) store and the Alpha Cafe (great for inexpensive breakfast) are located adjacent to the front entrance and are very convenient. We recommend this hotel!”

• Service was terrible. Rooms very small for a 5 star hotel.

“Hotel is in a great location for tourists. Right near Circular Quay and The Rocks. Rooms were clean and neat. One complaint was that the service was terrible. Took an hour for someone to bring ice to the room. Another time it was an hour and a half for towels. Staff is very friendly though.”

“The check in was wonderful. They let me use early guest lounge which had everything from showers, snacks, coffee, internet and tv.Room itself was wonderful, loved the bubble bath and soak tub. Very safe and best area to stay in Sydney, next to Circular Quay and all transportation.”

“The room was very nice, confortable beds and bathroom with all usual amenities, ironing board etc, coffeemaker with tea, milk, coffee. Breakfast buffet a bit expensive for Aus$ 32.- p.p. In the direct neigbourhood many places for breakfast with reasonable prices. Hotel has special offers in Icons restaurant for lunch or dinner. Food was very good at Icons.”

• overall service levels were first class! great attention to detail.

“Great location near Circular Quay,The rocks", Sydney Opera House, Harbor Bridge. Standard of rooms were absolutely of 5* quality. Staff were of the highest quality.Entertainment in "Macquarie lounge" was great most nights.Gym, pool and sauna facilities were all clean, modern and a delight to utilize."”

• Great harbor location one block from the ferry terminals. Excellent value. Beautiful hotel.
• Concierge gave misinformation resulting in wasted time.

“Best location close to ferry terminals, bridge and opera house. Beautiful hotel and lobby. Lovely room with king bed and view of the bridge! Nice antipasto early buffet priced at $14.50 AU. Definitely would stay again.”

• It did not fix a leak apparently coming from the fridge.

“Pleasant hotel, nice location, good, friendly reception desk. Initially gave us a room with a view but it was smelly (smoking room) though we requested a non-smoking room. A room was not available ready when we arrived from the cruise ship but we arrived three hours prior to checkout time. They do have a room for early arrivals which was helpful.”

• Nice view from the 18th. floor. Response to requests was prompt and courteous
• Nothing stands out in my mind.

“The room was clean and spacious. The view was nice; we could see the water and the bridge. Hotel staff were able to check us in mid-morning, well before check-in time. They also graciously accommodated our wish to stay an hour past check-out time.”
