• The concierge staff was the best and friendliest I have ever encountered anywhere.
• Seem to have a no late-checkout policy, but they will hold your bags for you if you have a flight later in the day.

“It was my first ever trip to Australia, and the staff of this hotel was awesome. Coogee beach is about a 30 minute bus ride from downtown Sydney, but the hotel made the distance totally worth it. Add on the 2 minute walk to the beach, this place was really great.”

• The view, the pool, the location.
• Misrepresentation of view from room.

“The only drawback with this hotel which was quite a big one is that they described my room as 'beach view' when the only beach view was from the balcony. Fortunately they found another room but it was a close thing and I arrived late at night so it would have been difficult to find a room elsewhere.”

• Newly refurbished room.
• Found cockroach in bathroom in middle of night.

“We found the Crowne Plaza Coo gee Beach to be quite nice. Its location was perfect: near the beach and many eateries on adjacent streets, and away from the hustle of downtown Sydney. The rooms were recently refurbished, although this consisted mostly of new carpet and fresh paint. The staff was very nice and helpful. Our only issue was the cockroach in the bathroom in the middle of the night. I know it's tough to keep pests out of a large hotel, but this was the first time I've ever seen a cockroach in my travels.”

• The staff was really helpful and pleasant.
• Rooms weren't that clean, beds kind of uncomfortable.

“Location was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms (especially the carpet) could have been a little tidier.”

• The view from our balcony was beautiful.
• The beds were NOT comfortable and the TV kept going out.

“It was OK, my husband and I were placed in a room with 2 double beds instead of one king. The concierge never answered his line, but the hotel staff were very nice and helpful. However, we came back from a day of shopping at 4:45 one afternoon and they were just cleaning our room (seems a little late in the day). Also, it looked like they were washing the glasses we had used in the bathroom sink (yuck!). I just expect a little more from a Crowne Plaza.”
