• the accommodation was simple but adequate just what we required

“this hotel was perfect for our requirement just round the corner from the crucible theatre.the room was good breakfast good and the late bar very good.i would not hesitate in staying again.”

• The cleanliness of the room, it location was excellent, excellent facilities

“Cutlers hotel is an excellent hotel that contains clean, well serviced rooms, polite, professional staff and great facilities such as the resturant and bar. Its location is also extremely convenient to many of the city sites, resturants, theatres etc, which is another benefit.

we both really enjoyed our stay!”

• conveint for city centre& the sports centre I was visitibng
• Differcult to find, no car parking, had to use national car park.

“Car Park too far away
Put in smoker room to start with - this stank. Told nothing else then one found when we were prepared to leave.Woken at 7.00 am by noise from nearby crane / loading bay .”

• Friendly and helpful reception staff. Good city centre location.
• Single glazed,window did not close properly-very draughty (room 107). Breakfast toast never arrived.

• The Cutlers is a fantastic hotel, all round amazing value for money
• I didnt like having to leave!

“I have stayed at the Cutlers Hotel on a number of occasions, if anyone is thinking of staying in Sheffield, The Cutlers cannot be recommended highly enough. This hotel is amazing value for money, with full english breakfast (which is really nice) included in the price. All the staff are very friendly and accomodating should there be anything you need.”

• comfortable and fairly quiet considering the location of the hotel.
• hotel was difficult to find and parking was difficult.

“There was no parking dedicated to the hotel although there was a discount on the NCP parking. It would have been helpful to know the parking situation before arrival.
The room could do with more power sockets so you can watch TV at the same time as boiling the kettle. The bathroom could do with a shaver socket.
It would be very helpful if there was an 'idiots guide' city centre map showing the one way systems and 'tram only' roads as it's very easy to get lost.”

• Comfortable with adequate space.
• Siting of wash hand-basin within the bedroom.

• It was very close to the city centre and easy to get to from the motorway.

“Overall the stay was pleasent, the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was very good and meant we had no trouble getting to the cities bars.”

• excellenly located , comfortable and clean , excellent value for money. decent food

“Every thing was more then adequate, with brilliant value for money.The directions where good and it was easy to find.The only thing that would have been handy to know were the parkinginstructions as we had to go in a public car park. This wasn't a problem as we got mhalf of the cost back, butwe had to drive up then go in and ask and then go to the carpark which was convieniently located for the hotel butit might have been better if we had been informed .”

• Location, value for money, friendly and helpful staff.
• Room was quite old fashioned and quite dark - one of the lights around the dressing table was broken and hanging off it's stalk.

“The hotel was an excellent choice, central location and excellent value for money, including full english breakfast. The staff were extremely helpful, particularly the night porter and bar staff when we arrived back after our evening out. The room was no frills and we were disappointed that one of the lights was hanging off it's stalk and looked quite dangerous. Overall the room looked like it could do with an update and brightening up but was still very clean and sufficient for our needs.”

• It was very clean and in most parts the staff were friendly and helpful
• I was rather shocked about the car parking facilities.To have to pay to park in a multistorey carpark on top of our room charge i felt was quite strange and I wasn't happy about it at all

“I feel that the hotel was charming and peaceful. The room was comfortable and i liked that we weren't rushed out in the morning. The hotel was very relaxed. The only downfall for me was the lack of car parking facilities on site.”

“I was pleased with the hotel. The above criticisms were, as I said, just minor annoyances and wouldn't put me off a repeat stay, although I can imagine that the lack of a lift would be a major problem to an older or infirm guest especially one with a room on a higher floor.

The hotel's location is great for shopping and the theatre.”

• It was very central and close to the Crucible Theatre
• Lack of maintenance - bath cracked - sense that things not checked regularly.

“No double glazing to soundproof noise from street; curtains not adequate to block light from streetlights outside window. It is very basic accommodation.”

• Convenient location
• Issues re lift, hotel noisy but it is a city centre hotel

“Generally the hotel is adequate for an overnight stay but limited for much more than that. Rooms are a bit tired and small maintenance jobs are required to bring them up to scratch. Information about city centre poor and had I been a tourist this might have been an issue. As stated room was noisy but in many respects that is more to do with its city centre location. On the day I visited the lift was out of order and with a room on the 3rd floor there was no offer of assistance to get bag and laptop up to room, this I thought was a shame.”
