“This is a very nice hotel for the price. It backs up on a major pedestrian street with hotels, shops and restaurants at your doorstep. Although English is not widely spoken the staff was friendly and eager to at least try and help. Don't let the Ramada name mislead you, this is a much more upscale hotel than the Ramada's located in the U.S.” Jan 5, 2008 by
Helen from Daly City, CA
“The room was spacious and great. Good location; Friendly & Helpful Staff; Speedy Internet Connection; Staffs could speak English which was great!” Nov 16, 2007 by
Richard from Anchorage, AK
“The location is perfect for Shanghai. It is like being in the middle of time square in New York. The basic room is very average, but clean. The staff is impossible to get any help from. I will never stay here again. On every other visit to shanghai (many times for business) the staffs at the various hotels have been very friendly and helpful. Here they pull attitude, and I don't need it.” Feb 8, 2007 by

“The Shanghai Ramada Plaza was located on busy road. Rooms were well-appointed; decor was serene, neutral colors. We were completely pleased with this random selection.” Jul 25, 2006 by

“I am satisfied with this hotel. Thank you.” Mar 31, 2006 by

“The Ramada Plaza Shanghai is in the middle of a busy city. Rooms were very nice. Staff was great. Help was everywhere. The walking mall was right out the back door. We were within walking distance from the river front. They don't turn the air conditioning on until April 1. Got a little stuffy couple of nights.” Aug 2, 2005 by
Evan from Woodland Hills, CA
“Very nice hotel overall. At the present time (late July, 2005) very noisy, however. Outside noise to be expected in Shanghai due to heavy construction activity, and particularly projects adjacent to the hotel. But there was a lot of noise inside from renovations also. Given it's noisy outside, perhaps this is the best time to get the inside work done as well. But right on checking in I had to request a different room two times because the noise was so loud or they gave me a smoking room - third time they finally moved me to a non-smoking room on 20th floor that worked out.Renovated rooms have nice furniture, but lack dresser drawers (there are none!).Concierge was not very knowledgeable about tours.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Apr 3, 2005 by

“A nicely serviced hotel on the most beautiful street for shopping and strolling. Just about 10 blocks from the Bund, but only 2-3 blocks from the Peoples Park, with the Shanghai Museum and the Opera House.” Feb 27, 2005 by
Carol from Encinitas, CA
“Beautiful hotel in the heart of Shanghai. Located on Pedestrian Walk, the main shopping area. Close to great restaurants.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 15, 2004 by
Ruth C. from Bethesda “The Ramada is excellently located for exploring Shanghai--a few blocks from the Bund, close to the Peoples Park, the art museum, and the new concert hall, and in the midst of shopping. The hotel itself is grand, our room was fine, and the staff is very competant and helpful. Strongly recommended!” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Dec 7, 2004 by
Tecora W. from Vallejo “I felt the Ramada Plaza Hotel had the look and feel of a 5-star hotel. It's location was close to many shopping areas as well as many of the sight-seeing locations.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Hotel Representatives:
