• the reason for the stay was a gig at 'Rock City',and the location of the hotel was perfect,just behind the venue,also very close to main shopping area of the city

• Clean, very quite, and cool enough for a good night sleep.
• Breakfast was FAR too expensive. Not enough discount on carpark.

“Well located for central nottingham, especially handy, is the carpark next door.
The Dining area being on the top floor gave a great view out over nottingham, this created a very relaxed enviroment.
Fried breakfast at ?u10 each is very expensive, especially as theres plently of little cafe's in town for competition.
otherwise an excellent hotel, at a competitive price for the standard.”

“Myself and a group of friends required an overnight stay somewhere central to celebrate New Year in Nottingham. The hotel was perfect for this purpose, being within walking distance to the centre.”

“The hotel is situated in a central position and provides accommodation of a very high standard.Staff were able to answer questions in a helpful manner.Checking in was quick - a very important point.Although the car park next to the hotel was fine, being able to park in the hotel's own car park would be an improvement in the services offered.”

• Maybe a little bit expensive

“The Welbeck is a lovely hotel to stay in with great facilities, I found the price to be a little bit intimidating, but you're paying for a quality far beyond your average Express Holiday Inn. The location is ideal for visting all of Nottingham, right in the centre of the city, but nicely tucked away from the noisy streets.

This is a hotel that I would use again, but only as a treat or for special occasions.”

• The reception staff were very courteous. The most prompt delivery of an iron/board ever. The room was superb value for money. Excellent location for the main shopping area and restaurants. Will definately stay again

Felt a little hurried in the bar to leave. Was not told about the complexities of the car park stay ie time limits. Ended up paying '16.50 without any entitlement to discount. According to the car park it is a common problem that the hotel does not explain when/how long you can stay in the car park. Will still be using this hotel again but would strongly recommend asking for clarification on the parking discount ;o)

Oh, on the subject of booking through Active Hotels, it would have been helpful if it had been made much clearer that payment for the stay is not taken online but when checking out at the hotel. If the info was there, then it hadnt been made that obvious.”

• We liked the decor of the room and found it quite comfortable. Slept well...bed was comfortable.

“Clean, well presented hotel. Customer service wasn't bad enough to make us avoid the hotel in future but wasn't good enough to have us rushing back.”

“Check in (if using the internet) uses the second guests name as the main booked name, rather than the person who booked it. The reception staff seemed to be aware of this, but never volunteered the information. We had to search through the lists of names booked and say yes”

• Parking was a Bonus (on a bike)
• A little difficult to find, turned in on the second attempt
