• Food, staff and city centre location.
• Couldn't stay longer.

“Wow, after returning to this hotel 3 years later what a difference, new bar, new amazing restaurant and refurbished rooms. This hotel is now a beautiful period building with an ultra modern feel on the inside. The staff are amazing, As before I felt welcome, was really looked after, the food was excellent. Highly recommended!!”

• Good location for walking into Norwich
• Room rather small

“This is a utilitarian hotel convenient for the city centre. The corridors and public rooms are a little in need of 'refreshment'. The room in which we stayed was small, the shower basic. But it was clean, warm and adequate for our needs.”

• It was beautifully warm during a very cold spell
• The bar was rather small and pokey.

“There appeared to be not quite sufficient staff in the evening. To order drinks at the bar one usually had to ring a bell for someone to come from somewhere else, and though it was possible to order light meals in the bar, it wasn't really set up for this - a few small round tables and one low table in front of low couches. However, the staff were really friendy and helpful, and we were able to adjust the level of the radiators in our room! The food was very good, but although the menu changed daily, after three nights there was a sort of 'saminess' about it.”

• The location, good breakfast, friendly staff
• The smell of cooking in the hotel lobby and the room was quite small

• Friendly and informal

“I ate in the restaurant twice and the food was good. However, it was let down by poor front of house. Will you please buy the waiter a jacket and give him some basic training - don't get me wrong he was pleasant and helpful. In addition, with food of that quality, I would have expected linen napkins not flimsy paper ones”

• Locality to city centre, food, near to relatives,friendly atmosphere
• Lounge bar needs to be part of social ambience of eating, drinking and relaxing

“A very pleasant stay. Food and service was excellent. Room clean, well decorated and comfortable. If you want to relax before and after a meal the lounge bar is quiet.”

• The room, though small, was warm and welcoming with bright aspect overlooking the garden.
• The decor was quite dated and the television tiny. The yale locks on the doors were noisy.

“We wanted a quiet affordable friendly hotel within walking distance of the city centre and the Georgian House Hotel certainly met those needs. As mature guests on a leisure break we found the bar and lounge disappointingly small and smokey so we avoided them. We enjoyed the pictures on the walls though.”

• Easy going, relaxed atmosphere. Very co-operative with booking taxi - thanks
• No problems at all. Hectic at breakfast on Sunday morning

“An enjoyable break. The Georgian House is ideally situated for walking into the centre of Norwich. Food and service were very good - dinner menu well worth a try.”

• Staff were friendly and very helpful.
• Small room no bath..only shower.

“The size of the room, looking on the web page the rooms looked bigger.I also thought one got a bath and shower.I think the lounge bar area needed to have a good polish on tables...but overall the staff are very nice and very helpful.Yes I would stay at this hotel again in the coming future.”

• Excellent menu with plenty of choice. The food is prepared from fresh ingredients and is full of flavour. Breakfast is good, the full English provides proper sausages, not the ghastly catering variety that one usually gets served!
• There are no bad points about this hotel.

“Norwich is a great place for a long weekend. There is plenty to see and do, ranging from a Norman castle, a magnificent cathedral,some very interesting shops and trips on the river. Staying at a hotel as comfortable as the Georgian adds to the pleasure - the evening meal with a glass of decent wine was a very enjoyable way to round off the day. Highly recommended.”

“Very good location for city centre. The staff are very helpful and the food is excellent, in particularly a very good selection of locally produced beers. A very nice place to stay for a city break in Norwich.”
